  1. In my projects, I'm largely relying on CIELAB colors. But the LAB sliders alone are really hard to scroll along Hue. Then I found this variant of LAB: HSLuv. It would greatly save my time dealing with CIELAB colors. Details and sample implementations can be found at http://www.hsluv.org/
  2. And one more thing... Showing slices as a layer enables me using slices a a bounding box guide whiling editing icons. I don't want to manage another extra grid layer for this. Currently I have to switching a lot between personas, and every switch takes time due to the mode change.
  3. But I can't set margin spaces for the auto-following slices, and the pixel alignment would be wrong on some of my drawing (because of the sub-pixel placement on the top & left most borders). To the concern of a bloated UI, personas can be predefined as tool layouts. It should not block me from accessing whatever features right at my hand via shortcuts. *AT LEAST TAKE A LOOK AT ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR* And what make a software hard to learn is hiding everything in a box. (Like hiding "export slices" in the export persona's slices panel. DOUBLE BOXING) The biggest problem with this MAN-MADE persona blockage is I will (almost always) forget which persona I'm in when focused on my work. And I will not recommend AD to my friend or buy a upgrade on the future as long as this time-wasting problem persists. Since the refund period has expired, I'll go along with whatever it is now. Though the personas workflow suits AP well.
  4. When would us be able to copy/paste slices and reorder the slices in the panel? And I would like to move slices alone with drawing objects, since I have to reorganize the canvas frequently. Move the objects and realign all those slices is a pain. Merging the three personas into one just like Adobe Fireworks will be a great help. Slices can just be placed inside a layer. And the only different between vector & pixel personas is the content of the Tools bar. It wasted lots of my time on switching those stupid personas.
  5. (Surely a good method to encourage more users buying Affinity Photo)
  6. Major bug fix is also a major release. ;) My company uses 1.X mostly to encourage users to update.
  7. And JS+HTML/CSS is far more flexible to build a good cross-platform experience. PyQt is ugly, yes, simply ugly. Though the python lib is smaller to include, the performance might be the same. (No intention to start a war with zealots) Actually Node.JS(V8) performance is even better than the PyPy in my company's use cases. What I can't give up is the Python scientific libs my project depends on. But those ugly __***__ and more in the code, well, as long as it works, the end users won't care.
  8. The release policy in my company is a repeat cycle of one New Feature release and two or more (up to five as I remembered) Maintenance releases. (Since there are always more bugs to be fixed than the urge of new features ;) ) Not should if Serif uses the same strategy.
  9. Actually I would like to see Designer & Photo merged. Two Persona, One App. Though this would not happen. ;) (Though this might be why Fireworks lives so long even it got discontinued.)
  10. This is why I don't purchase the Affinity Photo at launch after experiencing the 100% zoom problem in Affinity Designer. It makes my work a lot harder than work with Adobe software.
  11. Scripting API would be great. But no Python, I don't want to put a indent-checking ruler on my screen to write simple scripts.

    Jk

I would change the style of the text.
  13. As a fireworks user, +1 to this. There are lots of UX improvement needed to be done. And lots of time it can save for us.
  14. Let's start with: Why I can't copy, paste or duplicate slices? And why I can't arrange the order of slices in the slices panel? Well, here goes my thoughts on how to get rid of the Slices and the Export Options panels. And merge draw and export Persona like fireworks please. It'll save a lot of time.
  15. 1/ Because amazon cloud is blocked. but just beta version are hosted on AWS. Maybe make a mirror on other hosting service? 2/ Should be translated to"Chinese font name is not displayed in Chinese locale name". 1/ 因为亚马逊云国内被屏蔽了。只能请开发商换个地方放测试版。付费版用的 cloudfront 的 cdn,没有下载问题。 2/ 翻译有歧义,帮你翻译成正确的意思了。
  16. Totally agree on the Sketch like property panel as a long time Fireworks user. Though the layers doesn't bore me.
  17. Yeah, it' looks a little radical and personal. That's why I hope the Devs have user usage data to do the decision. Take the Group button for example: As you can see, designers in this industry have been used Adobe's software without a Group button on the dynamic toolbar for a long time with no complain. And Adobe sure have done a lot usage stats and analyzation. Just a design principle: Leave the most used, selection content related, hard to have done by simple shortcut features on the dynamic toolbar.
  18. I only use bitmap for building mockup from screenshot. Just A few tools are essential (as I use most in Fireworks): 1. the Rectangle Marquee and Selection Brush (cut and make up screenshots, extract elements I don't want to draw) 2. the Eraser (remove small portion of edges). 3. the Effects panel. (adjust color, casta drop shadow) 4. the Clone Stamp (to patch up the UI make up, though AD don't have it) As long as these tools were available in the Draw Personal, I won't touch the Pixel persona. We got better softwares for image editing, and AD even don't have bitmap filters. (Comparing to my good old Fireworks) (Actually I would like to hear some user stories from someone who do heavily depend on Pixel tools in a vector drawing software) (Actually I want to hear user stories from someone who heavily depend on Pixel persona) 2. the Clone Stamp (to patch up)
