Exkywor
Hi, this is the issue, i align my stuff, place the objects wherever i want and so far so good, but, sometimes when i select an object it moves slightly to any direction, and i have to undo that transform since i didn't ask for that, it happens randomly and in all the documents i've worked so far. Mark Ingram
Do you have snapping enabled?

Exkywor
i disabled snapping and it seems to fix the issue, but still, i think this shouldn't be a problem
biscuit
Hi, Just adding that I have experienced this as well. Snapping enabled, but object shouldn't move when selecting.
Mark Ingram
I can actually reproduce that here now. Thanks for the information.
Mark Ingram
Having looked into this, the reason this occurs is because Designer thinks you are about to start a drag (which then runs the snapping code). This is because the time between the mouse going down and back up is greater than 250ms. We use this value to determine whether you are beginning a drag (along with an alternate check on the distance moved). matt.baker
rubs
I second that. Objects should only move when you start moving them, it's unacceptable. I believe Affinity should check if the mouse coordinates have stayed the same after those 250 ms. But it's great software! Thanks for making the beta public. Alfred
I believe Affinity should check if the mouse coordinates have stayed the same after those 250 ms. Isn't that what Mark said the software already does? We use this value to determine whether you are beginning a drag (along with an alternate check on the distance moved). When using a stylus or a mouse, it's very difficult to keep the cursor at exactly the same screen coordinates while tapping or clicking. I mostly use either a trackball or a touchpad, both of which allow me to click without moving the cursor, so I haven't encountered this problem in AD. Checkmate
I have this issue ALL the time. Something definitely needs adjusting here as I'm basically pressing undo every other time I select something!
SinovenatoR
I can reproduce this, even with the mouse's pointer standing still for more than 250ms. Actually I moved the pointer to an object then clicked with my laptop's touchpad button (to avoid unintentional pointer moving while clicking on external mouse's button) and still, the bug got reproduced. I LOVE programming and vector drawing. :)
