Please add the ability to add pure vector based vector brushes based on vector objects for texture instead of PNGs. For now we can only add pixel based vector brushes. Being able to add pure vector brushes based on vector objects would allow us to create vector based textures and designs, which would be much easier to handle for any kind of (print) production. For example I tried to separate the colours to a spot colour PDF for screen print from this awesome work by Pierre Kleinhouse made for the Affinity Work from home series https://youtu.be/lL6gc8Oi2uw .afdesign file on DropBox: https://affin.co/LD2020PierreKleinhouse It was sort of a nightmare. I couldn't find a way to create a vector based spray texture within the Affinity Suite like in the second screen shot with the chimney. Expand stroke, working with spot colours, working with boolean operations ... a lot would be easier.

Hello all, I've created a batch of brushes in Photoshop that have textures applied to them in the Brush Settings panel. I made the textures by hand, scanned them, then made them into pattern textures in Photoshop. I exported these brushes as an ABR file and tried to import them into Affinity Photo, but the textures haven't translated across. I've attached one of the brushes for your reference. I don't really want to have to create these texture brushes from scratch in Affinity, so does anyone know if importing texture brushes is supported by Affinity? If so, how do I do this? Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks very much Tom's Texture Brush(1).abr

Hi, Channel packing method in Affinity photo is a bit hacky please make it easier to implement (i.e. copy and paste mask directly into the channel). Also, I cant seem to export a tga file with an alpha channel. I use channel packing heavily for creating RGBA masks/textures for UE4. Thanks, Iby

I would like to be able to search my own photos of textures held on a local drive on my W10 PC in a similar way that one can view and use stock photos. I have searched the Forum and training vids but can't see how to do it. The Library and Asset functions in Studio don't seems relevant here. In Photoshop one could have then in a panel just like the Stock photos are in AP and then drag and drop them onto the work area as a layer. Is there anything similar in AP that would allow this drag and drop approach?

How tedious! I keep getting ads on social media telling me the creative world runs on a certain photo editor. Ours runs on a different one.Saturn photo from NASA/Cassini, starry background and merged texture from magazine freebies, stately home window from my own photos and my (hand-tinted) baby brother (many years ago!) from my late father's photos; lots of masking, clipping, a bit of dodging & burning ...

Textured Pencils Added a set of 30 Textured Pencil Raster Brushes to Resources Sample set as displayed These Brushes are a bit different from my usual offering. 1. They are small 2. Rely largely on setting the blend mode to Average (something I learnt from Sketchbook Pro!) 3. Resize as you wish 4. Brush test here Enjoy! Project Brush - Textured Pencil.zip Ink Sketch Brushes Added a new set to supplement these brushes from the Project Brush 13:Ink Painter Set (which is now complete)..a bit out of sync as I started them quite a while ago! A set of 35 Ink Sketching Raster Brushes to Resources Sample set as displayed 1. These are essentially the same as the Pencil Brushes but with adjustments to the brush dynamics and less texture..There are 2 other sets that supplement these in the InkPainter Project set (Ink & Linear) 2. Similar to brushes produced by Jake Parker for initial Inktober Project 2016 3. If you need textures/Patterns There is a set available Camouflage assets (here) ...which is also out of sync...and maybe in the wrong place! inkPainter - Sketching.zip

I love everything about the vector persona and making a lot of vector illustrations as you can see them on my dribbble account. However, there is just one missing feature for which I'm switching to pixel persona; applying grains, spray textures. Since these pixel brushes are not scalable, I might have to reapply these brushes again on larger formats. I wonder if affinity guys can include a set of vector brushes to apply a nice, subtle textures which cab be scalable. This is one of the features that can set affinity ahead of procreate as well. What do you guys think?

Hello everyone, I have a question about swapping faces in a picture. How do I make it look the swapped face like it was on the original picture. I mean the same colour, tone, texture et cetera. There is a tutorial for Photoshop that does exactly what I mean but I don' t know how to translate that to Affinity. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7bDCFlSeGg Thanks in advance!

Hi! I'm trying miserably to create a textured rainbow brush. I want the colors ROYGBIV to be stacked like a rainbow and not like stripes. Whe I do accomplish the rainbow effect, the brush always comes out chunky and straight. I've tried "new.....brush" and adding a garden to a brush strokes and placing a bitmap gradient on a bus stroke. Does anyone know how I could get a brush like stroke with a horizontal rainbow pattern?

I've been trying to use transparent PNGs to add lightweight texture to my artwork. I've tried several different tutorials, and multiple different PNGs. When I overlay them on to my artwork and change the transparency to 'erase' it just turns the PNG texture white. I've tried using the color swatches and pickers to change the color to match the back ground paper, etc. and am still not able to get the desired affect. This is one of the tutorials I tried and best represents what I want to achieve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUi9KytBRLs I got the PNG files from Retro Supply Co, I've emailed them to see if I missed some portion of the instruction on how to use the textures. I haven't received a response.

Hi I'm trying to equalize texture replicating the steps from this video for Photoshop in Affinity Photo. The result I got from Affinity Photo is abit blur and the color abit washed out, in comparison to Photoshop. Did I missed out something? Or it should be different step for Affinity Photo? The steps I did for Affinity Photo: 1. Duplicate the image to 2 more copies like from this video. (Total 3 layers at this point) 2. Then use Filters -> Blur -> Average on 2nd layer. 3. Then adjust blend mode to Linear Light for 1st layer. 4. Then use Filters -> Sharpen -> High Pass... (with Radius 100px, same when I did in Photoshop) on 1st layer. Result from Affinity Photo: Result from Photoshop: Original:

Hi folks, off the back of this tweet - https://twitter.com/maisum_thiago/status/1159216372683087874?s=19 regarding Aseprite and copying a small portion of a design and having it repeat within an object (or lined confines) I was wondering if it would be possible to have a similar effect within Designer? Would be a great way to mass fill objects with a polkadot or any repeating texture/fill, kind of like a quasi-brush. Thanks, Rori
