  1. Texture Brushes [Hatching] Updated the brush set something I have meaning to do for a while! Changes/improvements as below Version 3.0 1. Removed old versions (original first sets x20 brushes!)..redundant now.. 2. Made some changes to the brush dynamics and nozzles. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions (as much as possible) 3. There are significant number of new nozzles for the brushes (Particularly Hatching 01) Which means they are not like original sets.. 4. The previous 6 brush sets have been merged together (making things easier!) and there are now just 2 sets. 5. Made use of the 1.7/1.8.2 brush engine in AD/AP to allow rotation to be defined in the subset...So you can now adjust the created mesh pattern by rotating the nozzle in the sub-brush 6. Updated the Sample sheets to newer (latest) layout..Sub brushes are displayed in red. Version 2.0 (archived) With Zip containing a total of 60 brushes (6x10) and Sample Sheet (PDF) Changes for version 2.0:1. New larger texture nozzles 2. 40 new brushes 3. Modified Brush Dynamics (Flow, accumulation and rotation) 4. Reduced reliance on scattering and scale jitter Sample Sheets Updated Texture Brush Hatching Set Hatching 01.zip Hatching 02.zip

  3. Hey, I finally finished these halftone brushes for Affinity Designer. Useful for adding texture and depth. https://www.amerkaricdigitalgoods.com/store/19-halftone-brushes I used them on my work too!
  4. Hello ! First, I wanted to thank teams who work on affinity because if it doesn't exist,I won’t be able to pay software that i need to work. So really thank you for that ! I hope there is an answer for my question : Actually, i am not getting to vectorize contours when i apply brush to them. It's possible when it's continuous line contours but not with brush. I downloaded this brush on your site, so it's not a problem of compatibility....So i hope i am on the right place to ask this. And sorry for my english.

  9. Hi guys. I want to take part in help for Affinity Photo. Here is custom make grass brushes and example, that was made by me. If you have any comments or ideas to add/fix them - i will adjust/update them. Each brush - it is not only one image, but at least 3 different variations of it. So when you draw - it draws in series 1,2,3,1,2,3,....like frames in movies - so the grass texture looks more natural and random. The brush rotates according to drawing direction/route. If you don't need it - got to brush settings Dynamic/Rotation jitter - and set it to ZERO % 2017.12.24 - Version updated to 0.2. See attached pictures for explanations Also i attach small palette for green hues. 2017.12.18 - They are 4 brushes. First 3 - intensity brushes, and last one - image brush. 10. Hi, I've not been able to find an answer to this with some googling, so I thought it'd be best to ask. Basically, I'm trying to recreate a logo that was originally done with a sweeping calligraphic brush, but the original has been lost in the mists of time and now the file only exists as a 400px png. I've managed some of it so far with the pen tool and poking at that with the brush options (the dark path in the image), but what I'm really looking to do is like a blade-tip marker so that it will look like the rest of the text - as in the angle of the brush stays at the same angle rather than perpendicular to the path. Is this possible? Thanks, Sean
  11. I decided to try and recreate some of my favourite brushes for Affinity Designer and I am really struggling with this. The pressure I set in the brush creation tool doesn't seem to work when I use it as an actual brush for the brush I made from a solid brush. When I try to create an image brush it doesn't change colour. But the brushes I purchased or downloaded are image and solid brushes but they do everything the way they are supposed to. What am I doing wrong? Screenshot attached. In the image the left is a solid brush with varying pressure sensitivity that is set in the brush settings. But it doesn't show when I paint. I have to manually create the pressure I had set on the brush each time. This is tedious and the reason that I made a specific brush for this. but it doesn't work. I Tried making the same kind of brush with a shape using an image brush but that refuses to change colour. You can see the selected brush is meant to be yellow but it refuses to be anything but white. But the brush stroke outside the shape changes colour as it should. I've checked the settings and I don't see anything about this. How can I fix this? In screenshot 2 I'm having the same issue. But this time on the desktop app. Again it won't change colour and the pressure won't work except when I'm testing the brush. I'm sure I am doing something wrong because the brushes I download seem to work. Could someone help please. Thank you.
  12. Please add the ability to add pure vector based vector brushes based on vector objects for texture instead of PNGs. For now we can only add pixel based vector brushes. Being able to add pure vector brushes based on vector objects would allow us to create vector based textures and designs, which would be much easier to handle for any kind of (print) production. For example I tried to separate the colours to a spot colour PDF for screen print from this awesome work by Pierre Kleinhouse made for the Affinity Work from home series https://youtu.be/lL6gc8Oi2uw .afdesign file on DropBox: https://affin.co/LD2020PierreKleinhouse It was sort of a nightmare. I couldn't find a way to create a vector based spray texture within the Affinity Suite like in the second screen shot with the chimney. Expand stroke, working with spot colours, working with boolean operations ... a lot would be easier.
  13. Change Affinity Photo brush colors on the fly. In this Affinity Photo tutorial I show in both iPad and desktop how to change your brush colors on the fly. It is number 33 of my Digitally Fearless Powerful Tools of Affinity. https://youtu.be/xh9oMoIxE_w
  14. Hiya folks! 🖖 I'm sure we're all dealing with the same stresses and frustrations brought on by the COVID-19 chaos (my country has been on full lockdown for a while now). It's important to stay busy to stop the cabin fever from kicking in, so I decided to create a little custom raster/pixel brush pack for Affinity apps - free for all! The brushes are not too complex, mimicking some traditional inking tools we all know and love, such as brush pens and fineliners. Perfect for those 'run-and-gun' illustrations where you just want to get to work and avoid the option-paralysis brought on by having to go through hundreds of custom brushes first. Included in the "Lockdown Liners" brush pack you'll find: 1 x HB Pencil (inspired by the Palomino Blackwing 602 pencil) 1 x Precision Eraser (inspired by the Tombow Mono eraser) 4 x Fineliners in Broad, Medium, Fine, and Ultra Fine (inspired by Pigma Micron technical pens) 1 x Brush Pen (inspired by the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip brush pen) 1 x Gel Pen (inspired by the Sakura Gelly Roll) Fully compatible with Affinity Photo for desktop and iPad, and Designer's Pixel Persona for desktop and iPad. *Best used with a drawing tablet or iPad with Apple Pencil to take full advantage of the pressure sensitivity that the brushes offer. I'll likely make a few tweaks to the pack as I go along, but I'll be sure to update it on Gumroad when I do so that everyone who has already downloaded it can be notified. Hopefully you can create some cool work with the brushes to help pass the time while we're all stuck indoors - if you do, be sure to tag me on Instagram, http://www.instagram.com/christidutoit, I'd love to see what you make! Here's the download link to the brushes on Gumroad: http://www.gum.co/lockdownliners As mentioned, these brushes are totally free to download and use, just type $0 in the price tab and click "I Want This!". Stay safe out there! - Christi. ☠️

  19. 3 things that would save me a lot of time would be: 1. A "recently used brushes" panel. 2. When I select a brush and then adjust its size, the brush I'm using is no longer highlighted in the brushes panel. Sometimes I forget which brush I'm using, so keeping the brush highlighted would be very helpful. 3. Organization options in the brushes panel. When duplicating a brush, I would love to have all of the duplicates located directly below the original brush but slightly indented.
  20. Hi, I have created a basic black PNG watermark and loaded it onto a new image brush. So far so good -- it applies. My understanding is, as this is a brush, I should be able to set the colour, e.g. white. But nothing I do changes the colour when I apply the brush. What am I missing here?

  23. Hi, I am really missing the ability to create vector brushes like I could do in the Adobe Illustrator.
  24. Hi I have an issue with the brushes from the „VectorHero - Ink Brush Pack for Affinity Designer“ by RetroSupply on the Mac as well as on the iPad. I’m attaching 2 screen grabs: 1. Unexpected behaviour in latest Affinity Designer on the Mac (same behaviour in latest Affinity Designer on iPad): 2. Expected behaviour in Illustrator 2017 on a Mac with High Sierra: In Affinity Designer after I apply the brushes to vector lines, the line visually continues after the endpoints, respectively gets added before the starting point. When I use the equivalent brushes in Illustrator on the same file (exported as .EPS from Affinity Designer) the brushes apply to the curves as expected. Anyone else seeing something like this? Is this a bug in the brushes or an Affinity quirk?
  25. “Space Base” is a vectorial image with a sci-fi theme, created as if it was a still frame from an anime movie. Another vector illustration made with basic shapes, gradients and this time, special brushes for the clouds. This work was also made following a tutorial by visual artist Isabel Aracama, and you can acess her site for this tutorial plus the freebies: www.isabelaracama.com
