  1. I want to take a page from a PDF and rasterize it for use in a brochure. I used to be able to do this in photoshop. When I open the pdf in Photo or Designer, it loads an editable version, and since I don't have the fonts for this document, it looks really bad.
  2. I would consider myself an amateur, this is just part of my job as I'm the only one with a little experience in this area. So for dummies like me oblivious to this setting and not even realized it was turned on, and who already canceled their CC subscription, it would be nice if there was some way if AD could "fix" this for me. Either during the import ask a question, or some setting after import where you can convert ligatures back to individual characters, or however that works. Although I suppose by the time such feature is implemented, it will no longer be of any use to me. But hey, for the next guy!
  3. For what it's worth the original file was saved from ai version 22.1. I also attached a screen grab of the save as dialogue. 2019-Q1_2_page.ai
  4. When Affinity Designer opens .ai, certain words will show red squiggly lines suggesting improper spelling of words which are not spelled incorrectly. So far I have only noticed this problem with words containing the letter f. F, and the letter following f, will be combined together into a single character. converted-ai-spell-check-issues.afdesign
  5. Good observation @carl123. @walt.farrell Yes I started by opening the .ai file in AD. And then saving as .afdesign I guess I will submit a bug report.
  6. Yes if highlighted, the word will also show the proper language. To keep the upload doc size low, I just deleted everything except some of the text boxes in question. converted-ai-spell-check-issues.afdesign
  7. I checked the language, and yes. However, I think perhaps it is an issue with converting the document from .ai to .afdesign I saw several other common words in other text boxes highlighted in the same way. If I created a new text box and typed the words manually, then they are accepted without suggesting correction. But if I make a new text box and copy the text from the "old" text box to the new, then it will still suggest a spelling correction.
  8. finding and offer are common words that should be included in your English dictionary by default, but currently they show up with red squiggly lines suggesting the word ending and over as corrected spellings.
  9. Having dabbled with a cricut a couple of times back in the day (prior to them supporting eps/svg and when surecutsalot wasnt sued), I know what you're trying to do. But as firstdefence said, you need the EPS. In this case EPS can be scaled to any size you want while maintaining perfect quality. As you see, this is a complicated cut because you're cutting thin lines that might break easily once you peel it off. And also you have those circles with the dots that muck things up too. Looks like you forgot to delete the white space of the "donut" and that's why it only cut out the larger shape (unless you just haven't removed that section when you took the photo.
  10. Thanks. It was right in front of my face the whole time. I'm not used to the context menubar compared to AI. I did try finding this on my own via Help>Help... but when you search for replace or replace image. This was not in any of the results of the help documentation.
  11. I am wondering if there is a links panel that shows you a list of all images, as in AI where you can choose one and then relink/replace it? I do a lot of repetitive designs where all I do is swap out the image. When I searched the forums here, the closest thing I found was a request for Publisher beta, to add a links panel. How do you replace images in AD?
  12. It would be nice to see support for color emoji on windows 10. Presently if I press the Win + ., the emoji panel comes up. But when I try to select one or multiple emoji, it will place a black and white version. Then as soon as I close the emoji panel, it goes away and doesn't actually insert the emoji. Same goes for Affinity Designer. I type emoji in Microsoft Word with a really large type size, then paste a screenshot
  13. Without having to read 4 years worth of comments. Is the first post still relevant? Is the OP updated from time to time or is there something that is updated more regularly such as a Trello board?
