  1. I tried to replicate these issues on my office PC, it's supposed to be slightly better in performance on the CPU side... Ryzen 5 3600. Same 16gb memory, similar gpu Anyway, the fill tool was virtually the same. The brush was a little worse for me. Besides the lag, there were times where instead of drawing a circle/curve it it stopped registering the mouse for a moment and then the time between the "lag" and when it resumed resulted in a straight line being drawn instead of a circular pattern. I tried the beta client 1.9.0.734 from the post you linked. The fill tool felt the same.
  2. When I use the flood fill tool to fill a whole layer, it seems like there is an abnormal delay. I say abnormal because coming from photoshop it these kinds of operations are instant. At least on the fill tool side. I cant remember the last time I used brushes since i canceled my sub a while ago. More noticeable is when using the brush tool. Some brushes are worse than others but it seems to happen to I know the swiftness of my strokes are exaggerated, but I just wonder if that's standard. My pc specs are mid range. Ryzen 1700 8 core, 16GB ram, and SSD boot drive. I recorded a t
  3. Coming from AI, I can't seem to figure out how to use kerning. I want to adjust the space between characters in a line of text. If I select the whole word or a sentence, everything but 0 is grayed out. If I put the cursor in between a character I can adjust the values... but they don't adjust. But even if it did work, I don't want to adjust every character manually so I'm confused. In AI I could just select a whole word or sentence or whatever and adjust so I don't know how to do that with AD. I don't want to use horizontal scaling because I do not want to stretch the text which distort
  4. I agree with the idea that it should have been archived instead. But my main problem as a recent new user with the roadmap was that it was unclear how up to date it was because the post was so old and I didnt notice any specific edit dates. I hope they use a blog post that they can update separate from forum comments or something like trello
  5. When text exceeds the size of a text box, it is still visible on the artboard. Coming from AI, I'm used to the text being cut off, and I prefer it that way because it more easily helps me figure out what can fit in a specific space. Additionally, I think the way you change the size of the text box is inconsistent because while I can make the box shorter without changing the flow of text, as you see in the screenshot, if I try to make the same box narrower, it will re flow. Just a thought. Mainly, at this point, all I care about is if it's possible to toggle a setting somewhere so tex
  6. Is there a setting to change the way selecting objects works? How do I select one text box behind another, without first having dragged a selection around both, and shift clicking the top object? The bounding box for the top object doesn't actually have anything directly above the object that is below it. But in order for me to select the object below, I have to select them both and deselect the top one. Basically I have an ai that was converted to affdesigner. There are a lot of text objects that converted in strange ways and it's somewhat of a hassle selecting them sometimes. Here'
  7. I want to take a page from a PDF and rasterize it for use in a brochure. I used to be able to do this in photoshop. When I open the pdf in Photo or Designer, it loads an editable version, and since I don't have the fonts for this document, it looks really bad.
  8. I would consider myself an amateur, this is just part of my job as I'm the only one with a little experience in this area. So for dummies like me oblivious to this setting and not even realized it was turned on, and who already canceled their CC subscription, it would be nice if there was some way if AD could "fix" this for me. Either during the import ask a question, or some setting after import where you can convert ligatures back to individual characters, or however that works. Although I suppose by the time such feature is implemented, it will no longer be of any use to me. But hey, for th
  9. For what it's worth the original file was saved from ai version 22.1. I also attached a screen grab of the save as dialogue. 2019-Q1_2_page.ai
  10. When Affinity Designer opens .ai, certain words will show red squiggly lines suggesting improper spelling of words which are not spelled incorrectly. So far I have only noticed this problem with words containing the letter f. F, and the letter following f, will be combined together into a single character. converted-ai-spell-check-issues.afdesign
  11. Good observation @carl123. @walt.farrell Yes I started by opening the .ai file in AD. And then saving as .afdesign I guess I will submit a bug report.
  12. Yes if highlighted, the word will also show the proper language. To keep the upload doc size low, I just deleted everything except some of the text boxes in question. converted-ai-spell-check-issues.afdesign
  13. I checked the language, and yes. However, I think perhaps it is an issue with converting the document from .ai to .afdesign I saw several other common words in other text boxes highlighted in the same way. If I created a new text box and typed the words manually, then they are accepted without suggesting correction. But if I make a new text box and copy the text from the "old" text box to the new, then it will still suggest a spelling correction.
  14. finding and offer are common words that should be included in your English dictionary by default, but currently they show up with red squiggly lines suggesting the word ending and over as corrected spellings.
  15. Having dabbled with a cricut a couple of times back in the day (prior to them supporting eps/svg and when surecutsalot wasnt sued), I know what you're trying to do. But as firstdefence said, you need the EPS. In this case EPS can be scaled to any size you want while maintaining perfect quality. As you see, this is a complicated cut because you're cutting thin lines that might break easily once you peel it off. And also you have those circles with the dots that muck things up too. Looks like you forgot to delete the white space of the "donut" and that's why it only cut out the larger shape (unl
