  1. I’m making a webtoon on an iPad and put texts on Affinity Photo. However, the length of my Webtoon is very long and I want to be able to cut the photo in to 3 so that it can fit the size requirements for Webtoon. I was doing this in Photoshop using the slice tool, but it would be REALLY cool if Affinity photo can do this as well! I know that it might be a very minor tool for most other users, but it would make Affinity Photo feel even more professional too! Thank for reading
  2. Hello everyone , recently i started working on glitch art . A pixel sorter would make my work very easy because sadly you cannot really achieve the pixel sorting effect with the displacement map. It should roughly work like the "Wind" tool in photoshop where it slices and displaces the images in a vertical or horizontal plane To illustrate what I am talking about
  3. EDIT: Hooray. This App has finally been published. Scroll down to get a link to the Microsoft Store listing. I've started working on a new Windows App and have been having trouble getting the icon right. It will be a simple - and totally free - conversion App - kilos to pounds, metres to inches, etc. The general criteria I've given myself for the icon are: * must represent or give the idea of "conversion" or "change"; * broad strokes only - minimal detail, so it scales down well; * single colour only; * must fit nicely in a square with hardly any surrounding space; * should not contain letters or country/culture-specific items; * must not look much like any other existing App icon (not sure how to check this). I've come up with a few variations so far but I'm not happy with any of them (see attached). I started out - top-left - with the idea of taking a section out of two rulers and comparing them (ended up looking like a telephone). Then it morphed - top-right - into comparing a stack of items (started to look like a set of in-trays). Then - middle-left - I went on to a kind of funnel idea. And then - middle-right - a sort of "multi-arrow" that turned into nothing much. Then - bottom-left - I tried some more traditional weight icons but I don't want a specific measurement type to be in the icon. The icon at the bottom-right is what I'm using until something better comes up (it looks a bit like a birthday cake at the moment). Does anyone have any suggestions? (Especially if they're way better than what I've got so far.) The people with the best suggestions - those which make it into the final icon - will get a mention in the App (if they want one) when it comes out.
  4. Hi there, I just start using AD for a couple of weeks now. While I really love it, I think some basic features are still missing. Where is Line tool and background blur? Am I missing something? I know I can use a Pen tool to create a line, but it's not as intuitive as just ordinary line tool like adobe X D and sketch have. And about background blur, I have a difficult time when trying to create arcylic effect. In adobe X D, I can create it in just 2 clicks. Sorry if some other members already request this. I hope Affinity can consider this request in the future. Thank you.
  5. Hello all, In Photoshop it is quite easy to do a "pixel-stretch" effect on a bitmap layer (such as a photo) by selecting a row or column of single pixels then scaling it (see picture below). When I try to do this in Affinity Designer (in Pixel mode), the pixel row/column is resized and smoothed out, becoming a gradient. How can I avoid this and get the same effect as in Photoshop?
  6. I'm pretty sure there are other requests for this, but being able to save window arrangements/layouts into custom workspaces is a pretty essential feature. I use Photoshop and Illustrator, but will sometimes use Affinity Designer and Photo for fun. My Illustrator is CS6, so I'll often use Designer to at least convert my AI vector to a more modern/stable copy or just design it in Designer if I don't need to use the Illustrator features I'm use to using. Having to rearrange my windows every time or make due with the default layout everytime I switch to an Affinity program is extremely cumbersome. On the whole, I love the programs Serif Labs have put out and think they're extremely functional and promising. It's fun and exciting to see how they're progressing and I hope they continue developing like they've been doing
  7. Hi, Luminosity mask are essential in my workflow. I have watched the YouTube tutorials which are very good. Here are my requests: 1. Make it easier to generate all the luminosity masks. 2. With the blend range tool it would be nice to actually see the masks show up on the area that is affected. There should be a toggle buttton. This way I can adjust it until I know have the mask correct. Also, I should be able to feather it. I look forward to future enhancements to Affinity Photo to make it even more awesome. Regards, Frank.
  8. we really need these 2 tools for Designer: text envelope (example: to make the curved baseline of Netflix logo) text path (example: to make the text follow the circle around Starbucks Coffee logo) aside from that, i think another tool required is contour tool, but it's already mentioned in the previous thread. thanks developers!
  9. Hello! I'm a Capture One user. I've been exporting tiff files & doing heavy retouching in AP before rounding back to finish color edits/crops/batching in C1p. Then i saw this and I'm wondering if i should: a) switch to PSDs assuming they're "better" b) continue using tif files because they work just fine c) ask you guys why the 2 best Adobe competitors aren't working together on making this workflow C1p-AP-C1p using afphoto files I'm going to be honest. If Serif wastes development funds on pushing a Lightroom competitor into an overcrowded market (rather than a legit asset manager like bridge) I'll be pretty disappointed. I'm sure no one cares. Serif already has >$100 from me & I'll rush the queue to get at that publisher sweetness when it comes either way. But, real innovation & working with industry leaders (as serif has with x-rite) is what I'm looking for.
  10. Please bring back the dedicated noise slider. I searched for hours finding the noise slider until I noticed it appears when you click the opacity slider. Why does Affinity not just show two sliders? Two sliders would be so much more user friendly and easier to find and use.
  11. I've noticed this feature being asked about in other threads and wanted to share my desire for batch merging to HDR in Affinity Photo. As someone who does a lot of HDRI work I've gone through my fair share of different software searching for the best results (Photomatix, HDR Expose, Dynamic Photo HDR along with pano stacking with Autopano Giga and PTGui etc). After purchasing Affinity Photo I've found that in most if not all cases it's HDR merging has the best automatic ghost removal and processing of any app I've used, yet it's the only one without some sort of batch tools for multiple stacks. Currently I am manually sorting through 500+ separate stacks for a project I'm working on and would greatly appreciate (as well as pay for) a means of running these through a script to automate it all.
  12. Hi! New here, I've just bought the the soft, great feelings about it, amazing, I love it! But as usual, after few hours on it (the whole week-end, actually), I already have few requests about thing that are lacking for me. I am an illustrator and using Inkscape because there's no alternative in an affordable price. Adobe Illustrator? Well, forget it. Their actual price policy is a no go for me. Inkscape is painful in many ways but is a good program, very useful, and allows great things. But the truth is that it isn't very user friendly, and the workflow is not that good, for many reasons I won't explain, it's not relevant for what I want to request here. I must admit, it shines in few things that AD doesn't have, and I think it's really sad. I've read the roadmap, so I'll try to avoid requests already asked, except the ones I think that they are really important. 1°) Strokes done by vector object(s). Today they can be done plain, or with textures, but textures are in pixel, I'd like to use shapes, objects, samples, whatever. Why? Because we can do very good effects (when the object is stretched, not repeated), and it's not size dependent. Also, today, textures can be divided in 3, head, body (that is replicated) and tail. We could have many bodies and distribute them randomly along the stroke. Also we could add space between bodies/tail/head. Example of uses, music sheet, vegetation in the background, and so on. It's my N°1 request I think. 2°) Effects studio. Like in Inkscape. Its use is a pain, but is very powerful. With a better system (node based for example?) it could be a killer app'. It's essential for me. We don't need 100 effects, but """simple""" things like voronoi, blur (advanced), color modifications, transformations, and the ability to combine them at will, and we could create complex textures from scratch (like in Substance Designer) that are not size dependent. The actual effects available are good but too limited for my needs. 3°) Warp tool in vector. Like everybody here ^^... I know, it's already on the roadmap. 4°) Multiple gradient colors for the shape/stroke. I mean, if I fill a shape for example with a color, it can be a gradient (linear, elliptic, ...). I'd like to have an accumulation of gradients (with blending modes). I already have a workaround (I duplicate the shape, then fill each shape with a different gradient), but it would be time saving, as we can create 10 gradient for 1 shape and show 1 at a time. 5°) Export preferences in a file for all things we can keep in memory. For example, I can create my own pressure diagram for a stroke (if I use a mouse instead of a pencil) and keep it, a small icon appears. But I can't save it in a file. I'd like to. Many set tools set can be kept and reused, but can't be saved on disk. It's sad. 6°) Improve the pressure tool used in stroke and other things. Allow linear trajectories, bigger size for better adjustments... 7°) shapes filled by vector textures. Already asked, but I ask again. Too useful. With many parameters like distribution, size distribution, multiple objects put randomly (example of use: leaves on the ground in autumn), color distribution and so on. The distribution could be driven by other objects under (as rulers) or the color of pixelized textures. It's a little complicated to explain here, I can be more specific if you want. 8°) Perspective shape. I put many objects/layers/curves/whatever in a rectangular shape, and deform it to fake perspective. (like a ground, a wall). If i double-click on it it comes back to its rectangular shape and I can change things, and when I quit, the perspective is shown. Thanks, anyway. I'll update this post if I have other requests. (sorry for my english, it's not my native language)
  13. I think Affinity photo is lack of tablet support. I cannot draw very short line with my tablet (affinity photo ignores it). I am using intuos 4. If i want to draw very short line, I should zoom my image. (Affinity photo for ipad has same problem with apple pencil.) Even Pixelmator - I don't think it's real pro photo editing or painting tool - can do this easily. And I cannot draw a curve quickly. If I do that, affinity photo draws some short lines not a real curve. I think line stabiliser update is very awesome but I cannot use it cuz of these problems. please make it better.
  14. there is very usefl function Affinity Photo is missing, and is present in photoshop. When using a tool in clone mode, painting, erasing etc you have to use the bar over the drawing to change the brush/tool size. instead may be very fast and useful to choose the brush dimension with right-click, avoiding to move from the drawing part you're editing. Can it be possible?
  15. Please include the option to choose how the color of objects which handled that will be pasted from the clipboard into documents and the particular color profiles are different: Convert into the value of the document profile and preserve appearance or Preserve the values and asign the document profile (this option I'm missing) It would get rid of the problem that elements look different if copied into a document from another used a different color profile (for example: from a Generic Profile document into an ISO Coated prodile document the color will change if the color values are not preserved). PS: Sorry, I have only a german screenshot from Illustrator for example. But hopefully you understand what I mean.
  16. to be independent of other vector software there are many necessary functions. Lists:1) Conversion to line vectors. If I have a line with a style I have to be able to "explode" it into an editable file. In most cases this is necessary.2) Dynamic deformations. I find it important to be able to deform a dynamically grouped object (maybe with a frame with vectors) - I have not found this yet, but maybe there is.3) vectorization of bitmap files. This is an increasingly frequent need.

  18. Hi all. Thank you for your work on Affinity Designer. 1. Let's imagine that I am creating some vector art (see screenshot, below). 2. My goal is to remove the selected object's Fill color. The problem is that if I want to use the "/" hotkey (to remove the color) or "x", "/" (to switch from Stroke to Fill and then remove the color) ... I don't know whether the STROKE or the FILL is currently "Selected". (A**** Illustrator solves this by always showing the Stroke and Fill in the Tool Bar (see screenshot, below)). In my case, I have to first take my hand away from the keyboard to move my mouse, then open the Color Panel, to find out whether the Stroke or Fill is selected. This creates an extra 2-3 second, unnecessary step in my workflow. My recommendation might be to add a "Selected highlight" around the Fill or Stroke color in the Context Toolbar which is displayed far more frequently than the Color Panel (see screenshot, below). Thank you, again, for your work!
  19. Purchased the application a few days back for my new iPad Pro and I LOVE IT. It replaces all the apps Adobe offers on the App Store and makes me feel at home. As an Adobe Creative Cloud user, one litte thing a feel is missing from Affinity Photo is the on-canvas rulers but more importantly when adding guides to be able to select percentages as a measurement. E.g when on the horizontal line I want to add a guide 35% in, if the canvas is 2000px in height, the guide would be 700px down.
  20. Please please Please could you add the following feature to Affinity Photo: -Targa/TGA Export. (i can open Targa files but cant export them as Targa) - Angle Snapping for 'polygonal' Free Hand Selection tool and for when rotating with the move tool. (Super useful for accurately aligning along a certain angle) These two are the most important feature for me and would happily ditch Photoshop for these features.
  21. I can imagine that these features have been requested a lot but a 3D system such as in photoshop would be awesome. I could need it really often and it would improve my workflow by a lot. Another thing I want to make you consider is improving the old DrawPlus or make up an entirely new 2D animationsoftware. I realized that there was non good Animation Software, at least for my needs, and so iI would love if this was possible. Ive seen it a lot that other people got the answer that their proposals were not the planned way for serief, but this would be quiet urgent. Because i had to animate a Chart, I was searching for program and bought DrawPlus, which I came to realization, was aweful. I could not copy and paste my needed vectors in there without an immense detail loss, the backgroud was turned white and the in software programs for background removal where not useable at all. And every other software I downloaded had similar issues. In the end I had to export every single frame out of Designer and assemble them to a GIF in GIMP2. And that was a huge amount of work to do. If you cinsider my Idea I would be pleased to give some suggestions for handy features. Mauritz
  22. I love the fact that we get updates so often, but having to go to the webpage and go through the install process every single time I want to update is cumbersome and a waste of time. I don't think it would be hard to implement, but I think it would benefit everyone if we had one.
  23. Having independent blend modes for stroke and fill would be really handy. For example, I recently discovered the Erase blendmode, which is a godsend for not needing to manually expand and boolean things. Something I like doing is to give stuff padding by expanding the shape, "bulging it" in all directions, and then cutting that out of what's beneath, giving a sort of cell shaded look, but as if the outline is the background color. Being able to have the Stroke have an Erase blendmode would make this extremely handy and powerful, and I can imagine using strokes in "add" or "screen" blendmode for a sort of glowing outline.
  24. Hello, I've been poking around the internet some after seeing an ad about this app that caught my eye while browsing youtube videos. This application seems like the perfect blend of just about everything I need all in one, subscription-free package, and It definitely looks impressive. I've just got one niche little feature request that I'd like to see at some point in the future, if possible: Can you add the ability to play-back and save the history as a video/gif file? I love being able to visually see progress - especially when I can see each step along the way to further enhance/review my understanding of what I can do and how I can do it. Even though I'm looking to download it as just an app for now until I get into super professional stuff (if ever), I still think some desktop users would appreciate such a feature. The only way to do something of the sort is use a sort of screen-recording software, which can quickly eat away at available storage space with all the down-time that may exist without editing it manually. In my head, it sounds simple, for the history slider is already there... but the programmer side of me says anything can be difficult when you least expect it. :P Thank you for your consideration! I'll get to buying and using the app soon! :D
  25. I've already posted this in Questions & Feedback but since it doesn't seem to be implemented yet, I'm adding it as a request. For example, I have a square which only has a fill color (no stroke). If I click on another shape, let's say a circle and I'm changing it's stroke color, when I click back on the square, I would like the color panel to auto-select the fill attribute (since it's the only attribute the square has) instead of keeping the stroke attribute selected (from the previous change). My logic is that I would want to change it's color rather than add a stroke to it. This way would eliminate an unnecessary extra click and speed you up when you'd have to repeat the action several times.
