There are also Mockup-bundles for Affinity, as for example here on this german site, their video shows how to use those in Affinity Photo ...

I love Affinity Designer and the great wonderful people behind it. I'm an early adopter and devised many of my studio's workflows around it. To the point that when a client requests a 'last-minute' change in the style guides I don't hesitate in assigning an intern, when there's one around, just to go through the time consuming and the painstaking chore of changing all the objects that need to be changed. Some of our projects can be huge. We have teams of designers and illustrators working on year-long projects that generate hundreds of artwork crammed artboards. I don't even get the chance to open all those files. Now, when the client requests us something seemingly simple as: "guys, the school computers have really bad screens. We need to increase the line thickness a bit". That makes my stomach drop. In many projects that means entire days of grunt work. Unhappiness ensues. Interns blame their fate. The less organized creatives become scapegoats for not keeping their layers in order. I struggle to outsource this burden and keep this evil out of the door. Sites like Mechanical Turk is not an option because very few users know of Affinity. Most often I end up hiring a freelancer, buying them an Affinity Designer copy, teach them the ropes in 15 minutes, pat them in the back and hope for the best. The only reason I endure this is just that I am a data freak and I measure everything: Affinity is so good that the performance gain is still worth this pain. But... guys, honestly, it's about time we have a Select Same [property] feature. Don't know any producer, project manager, director or anyone who has the responsibility to deliver work to clients who I have shown Affinity to that haven't scoffed at this omission. Let's be frank about what 'software reliability' means to an agency or studio: the features to implement that $%#! last-minute infuriating client change request without missing the deadline or derailing the budget. The reason why I don't understand why this feature is not a priority is that, as not only a creative but also as a business owner, I tend to consider anything that causes loss of productivity and eventually money, a priority. And honestly, I'd really love to be able to convince my clients to adopt Affinity Designer too so I don't have to go through the other—and last—grievance I have: conversion to Illustrator. I really dream about the day clients stop to ask me to convert the source files to AI. Please, let's make this happen. I really love the tool and admire your work but can't hold this back anymore. I think it's about time I share this.

I had to agree with some of this. I am wondering if the multi platform model is diluting the strength of each product.
Such fracterising may be having an impact on features like this. Which as you hinted at, could possibly be solved if they would simply open the app up via APIs so we could have everything as a plugin.

You can also draw a second shape, boolean > add. Then delete the second shape with the node tool.

There is always CorelDraw if you are willing to pay for it...  not cheap, but they still offer a non-subscription version on their web site, including a Mac version now for the first time in a long time.
Inkscape is using a UI toolkit that is mostly UNIX/X-oriented, and no it does not have the native appearance of a Mac application - even in the "native" Quartz version (I downloaded the beta of 1.0 to check it out, but haven't had much time to play with it yet), but I haven't really taken the time to work out how functional the UI is yet.  At first glance I suspect it is probably better than most people here seem to give it discredit for, but not likely as well-designed as Affinity Designer is.

On the Affinity Photo Feature List web page, in the Compatibility and Printing section, "TGA" appears on the Full Open or Import List. Perhaps there should be a parenthetical note included that says "(alpha channels are not supported)," similar to the notes for the AI & Freehand entries?

    Hi SteffenF,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Go to menu File ▸ Document Setup... and set the resolution you want for the document in the DPI field. All vector objects, layers effects etc will be then rasterised using this value.

    Very convoluted method follows.
Doc A has the Alpha Channel you want to copy and paste into Doc B. Open both.
Doc A select the Alpha Channel you want to copy & paste, make a new grayscale layer from the control click menu. Copy that Greyscale layer.
In Doc B paste the greyscale layer and hide everything else. Invert the layer, make a spare channel from any channel and that can then be loaded into the Doc B Alpha Channel.

I also question myself why not every filter is alive filter.
And why is haze Removal introduced as destructive filter? I hope it will be available as a live filter in the MAS version.

I would recommend the following solution for layer nesting:
If the selected layer is a live filter layer and one adds another live filter layer the new one should be added on top (not nested as it is at the moment). Ifs a pixel layer is selected, the live filter should be applied nested as only affecting the pixel layer.
    - that should be easy to code and does´t have any disadvantages, right?

Just use the plain OpenGL without Metal acceleration when in doubt here, that should be best to avoid overheating and to keep the fan noise level moderate down!

    @GabrielM
But at least Affinity should be able to read smart object without rasterizing it as single pixel layer.
Photopea can read smart object as smart object.

Affinity can import PS brush collections stored in files with the .abr file extension.

EDIT: regarding searching this site, its search engine is not very good. I use Google or Bing instead, with " site:affinity.serif.com" appended to the end of the search term (note the leading space) to confine the results to this site. For example, Photoshop brushes site:affinity.serif.com returns 400+ hits (link uses Google).

Yes, you can import them in Affinity Photo. Go to the Brushes panel, click on the small menu icon on the top right of the panel and select Import Brushes...

jamesholden reacted to A_B_C in How do I delete all hidden layers?
Well, if you really want, you could do the following:
Select > Select All. This will select all your visible layers. Layer > Lock. This will lock all your visible layers. Select > Deselect. This will deselect all your visible and locked layers. Layer > Show All. This will turn your invisible layers visible and select them. Backspace to delete the selected layers. Hope that helps …

EDIT I would try such global actions always with a copy of your file first … just for security reasons …

    Hi createsean,
Affinity Designer is an hybrid vector/raster design tool. It's more comparable to Illustrator/Fireworks than Photoshop - that would be Affinity Photo our RAW converter/developer and photo-editing app. The Crop Tool there is document based and works as you are expecting.

Voila, albeit an extended process but I get my file without it being embedded in the end.

For me, this is not a problem - export to PSD, and then open in Photoshop or Affinity Photo and redirect the font, of course, if it does not take much time. And I do not really need it.
