Kheewz got a reaction from AlessioFB in Is there any fast way to rename layers? AD
Is there any faster way to rename layers or do I really have to click in each and everyone and type?
Even a *rename* *press tab* *rename next* would do, as Photoshop.
Thanks!

No, just Ctrl + Alt + Left-click.
Yes.
See, for example, this Help entry:https://affinity.help/designer/English.lproj/pages/Painting/painting.html

Assign Right-click only to the button
Hold Alt key then press and hold the button (which is right-click)
Then put pen nib on tablet (which is left-click)
Do not put pen nib on tablet before pressing button as that will do left-click first then right click

Kheewz got a reaction from StuartRc in 1.7.0 Designer & Wacom tablet issues
It doesn't work for me. This assignment I've made works perfectly in old Designer versions, on Designer 1.7+ pixel persona and in Photo 1.7+. It's just not working on Designer 1.7+ Designer Persona.
Yeah, [ and ] are old shortcuts, but I could never feel comfortable (or fast enough) using them, since Photoshop times. I just got used to adjusting it with the method I showed before. But thanks for your post anyway, Stuart!

Kheewz got a reaction from lynzrand in 1.7.0 Designer & Wacom tablet issues
Hello!
So, these new versions look great and I'd love to start using them, but I have some weird problems going on since the first beta release.
I use my wacom tablet all the time, and I'm used to scaling brushes holding Alt + Lclick & Rclick, which I do after assigning such a modifier to one of my wacom pen's button.
It works perfectly in the stable 1.6 versions of Designer and Photo, also on Photo 1.7.0.367, the latest release. But whenever I use the same command on Designer 1.7.0.367, it doesn't work. It just paints, as if Lclicking and dragging. This is one problem.
Also, all of a sudden, the software stops getting instant feedback from my brushes/pen. I click and drag, but it only updates when I release the click.
Did anyone else encounter these bugs? I can upload stuff to showcase, if needed.
Thanks

Kheewz reacted to MunchkinWorks in [1.7.0] Stroke issues with both tablet and mouse
[Update] I can confirm the following: This issue doesn't happen when I'm using exclusively the mouse and change to another window. It happens when I'm using the tablet and then change windows or alt-tab. Then stops working properly until I close and reopen the program.
Hello all. I recently updated to 1.7 and been experiencing this behaviour.
When I first start the program everything is fine. As soon I alt-tab to do something else and return to designer, it stops reacting properly to stroke movements from both tablet pen and mouse. I recorded a sample as you see below.
This is a desktop computer running Windows 10. Drivers are mostly up to date. This behaviour also happens in designer persona, strokes made with the vector brush tool are always straight no matter how much I move around, and it's hard to work with the pen tool as well.
Any idea what could be causing this?

Kheewz got a reaction from Tim Kyarie in User Interface freezes with wacom intous use.
Yeah, I've made a similar post about it. Also having problems using Wacom on the beta versions.
Thanks!

Kheewz reacted to Tim Kyarie in User Interface freezes with wacom intous use.
The User interface freezes with use on Wacom intous. The active selected areas on the art board are active but I can't select other areas within the user interface like the task menu bar, Mainly when I drag a file image into Affinity designer using the wacom pen. Other times there was freezing is when I switched from Affinity Designer to another software while still using wacom and on switching back to it, it would be frozen and I have to forced quit Affinity designer and restart it all over again. Kindly check it's integration with Wacom products please.

If I have understood your requirement correctly
It's the default shortcuts assigned to the menu options
Select > Select Next and Select > Select Previous
(They may be different on a Mac?)

Hi Kheewz,
This is the fastest way I'm afraid. However I will move this thread to the Feature Requests section as this would make a good addition to the app.
Thanks

Kheewz got a reaction from hifred in How do I add the selection of layers?
You guys know that if you ctrl+click on a layer image you get it's contour as a selection.
That said, in Photoshop, it is possible to ctrl+click on a first layer and ctrl+shift+click on other layers to add to that initial selection. I couldn't do this on AD or AP. Is it possible to be done?
Showcase:
First I ctrl+click, then I try to ctrl+shift+click on the other layers.

Kheewz reacted to Aammppaa in Stroke Pressure Curve in Photo: first and last point in sync?
If the two ends points in the pressure graph show a tiny dot in the center, then they move in sync.
Click either end once to remove the dot, and they now move independently.

Kheewz reacted to R C-R in Stroke Pressure Curve in Photo: first and last point in sync?
You can also hold down the alt/option key & drag one end point to move it independently of the other end point.

Kheewz reacted to firstdefence in How can I make this line?
Wise choice, doing this and using the Pen Tool a lot will only benefit you in the long run, its a very useful skill to attain and will certainly help your art develop.

Kheewz got a reaction from firstdefence in How can I make this line?
Yeah. I agree and already use it a lot to mask/cut/draw stuff.
-
Kheewz reacted to firstdefence in How can I make this line?
You could always look for a font that has internal line work and use that, or find a thin font and added a fat stroke to it, see image below

Kheewz reacted to gdenby in How can I make this line?
This is only my guess, but from using Illustrator quite a bit, not Photoshop, I can't imagine the lines in side "Strong" were not done by hand. The outline of the letters vary in size and shape, but there is not a line everywhere. Look at the bottom of the "S". The main stroke has no inner line, and no part of the embellishments has any. The method hengkidh shows would work to make an expanded stroke that could be subtracted from the letter to show the black layer underneath. But only after being carefully positioned.
I looked up the creator of the "Freedom, Fairness...: illustration, who I suppose is also the maker of the "Strong" pic. It appears he does his work all by hand to start. Pencil, followed by technical pen. He does sell some fonts, but none of those have the dark center lines. I think all his work is basically ink on paper, then carefully digitized and turned to vectors.
Here is the only help I can offer, 2 letters made by hand, but vector from the start.

Kheewz reacted to hengkidh in How can I make this line?
It can be done by using pen tool. Here's the way I know.
First, make a line using pen tool. Click on the Stroke size. Click on Properties. Set Size Variance to about 80% or more. Click Close. Now, play with Pressure.

Kheewz got a reaction from Roger C in Option to remove Personas from File menu?
I'd recommend you to forget the menu.
Ctrl+N and beware a faster workflow. The menu should exist only as a reference for shortcuts.
