Turn pixel view mode on (or retina pixel view mode) and check if it's showing up on this view. If it's still present, it's the anti-alias. You can adjust the coverage map of those layers to get full black pixels on the edges, basically bypassing the anti-alias.

Well, is Microsoft not the publisher the vendor, the deliverer and the installer in this case? They put heavy installation restrictions on the software, Serif don't.
If there is a problem with production quality, publishing, selling, delivery or installation, it is their responsibility. If you buy a camera from Amazon, you contact Amazon if it goes wrong, not China or Japan.
Who Microsoft/Amazon buy or subcontract the product from is irrelevant (as far as you are concerned) as they took your money. If the product turns out to be at fault, it is up to the publisher to put it right (or refund you) and then make sure the manufacturer fixes the problem, or stop selling it. I'm am very sure Microsoft tested the software thoroughly before deciding to sell it as they will be well aware of consumer law.
As I said before, Microsoft takes total control of the whole installation process from the moment you pay them. Microsoft is where the problem lies.
If you fiddle around with anything to try and bypass that process, Microsoft will be able to deny any responsibility (they probably will anyway). But it's your choice.

1. It is a little tricky to do this but the secret is the place the finger or Pencil tip on the screen where you want the second selection box to start first, then place the other finger on the screen & start the drag.

Before you go any further, have you tried contacting Microsoft. I would be very cautious about messing around with a ‘controlled’ installation. You would certainly not get any support from them afterwards. In theory, you could roll back to a Windows restore point and start again. The licensing should work OK as you can install Photo on multiple computers, although it should re-install on the same pc without any hassle.
It is Microsoft who sell Photo, Microsoft who install it (via the store) and Microsoft who restrict the access to it. Quite likely a Windows 10 update messed it up too. 
Serif are a bit like the writers of a book. You can’t really blame the author if you borrow a book from the library and the last page is missing
 

You can create a preset,  but you will have to apply it every time.

You mention the Olympus program. Is that Olympus Viewer 3? 
The colour might/will be shifted if you use any in-camera adjustments ( tone, colour shift, sharpness, etc) as they will only be read by the native Olympus software. We load the RAW file without any in-camera adjustments.

Thanks. I'm not too sure how you got faded colours in the Flower photo. This is a side-by-side Affinity photo and Olympus Viewer 3
In the Develop persona, I just increased the Exposure to 0.58 and I added some Sharpness in the detailing studio using the detail and radius slider. Pretty close results.

Same goes for the other one. 


For this one, I have adjusted the exposure, black point, Detail and I've added a bit of curve to the red channel:

This is all done in the develop persona, using Serif Labs RAW engine.

Until support replies you.... In your shoes I'd uninstall completely. Then install, try the number again. If wouldn't work, I know how to edit the Windows registry safely, I'd surely find my way there to fix it. If you don't know a lot about it, is more dangerous to try than anything. I post it just in case you count on someone -or your self, to deal with it- in case the full uninstallation wouldn't work, and mostly, if support can't contact you in time (I'm reading that they are very at full , right now).
I dunno how they do the thing, internally. With other companies, the second download, if you made a second purchase, could have generated a second key... But I don't have a clue about how they do it. I've purchased Photo for Windows today, casually, and it all went smooth...
They attend the forums pretty well, even in these times of maximum pressure of releases. So, keep following this thread tomorrow, you probably will get a nice reply soon.

Hi and thanks a lot for the quick reply. I will definitely check out the PDF export compatibility.
The reason i was focussed on EPS has 2 reasons:
1. I have a lot of EPS files from 15 years of work, either made by me or given by other companies
2. Especially printing agencies are still asking for EPS formats regularly
I must say i wasn't aware that the EPS format will eventually die out but i will look into that for sure. When i convert the EPS work files to PDF or AI (in Illustrator), all layers are intact, so good to know that i can work my way around it.

i will continue exploring the program, so far it all feels really reliable.

Bienvenue sur les forums.
Vous pouvez réinitialiser votre application à ses paramètres par défaut en maintenant la touche CTRL enfoncée tout en lançant l'application Lorsque la fenêtre Effacer les données utilisateur s'affiche, cliquez sur Sélectionner tout, puis sur Effacer. L'application va maintenant s'ouvrir.
Soyez conscient que la réinitialisation de votre application perdra tous les paramètres personnalisés tels que les raccourcis clavier et les pinceaux, etc. Pour sauvegarder les paramètres de recherche avant de réinitialiser l'application, s'il vous plaît regarder notre Affinité - Exportation des paramètres utilisateur et des raccourcis clavier video.

Also make sure
View > Studio > Presets is selected when in the Tone Mapping Persona
 
 

Got it, @GabrielM - it wasn't really responsive to touch but worked much better with the Apple Pencil. I'm slowly getting to grips with the apps and with Affinity's interface - thanks for the replies and the help of the Serif community too

Thank you for the file. You do not have a copy of the original file so it's hard to see if you had any transparent areas before. However,  you go near the edges, You would have transparent edges. Have a look at this. it might be helpful.

For dashed line styles, a Dash number grid appears at the bottom of the panel which sets the Dash pattern using two number pairs:
The first two values set the size of the initial dash and subsequent space. The third and fourth values, when set, introduce a more complex dash pattern by setting a different size for alternate dashes and spaces. The Phase value allows you to 'shift' the dash line style along so the design begins at a different point in the style's sequence. This can have an impact on how dash lines display for closed shapes (see below).

Yes. The local configuration would be stored in /Users/{your username}/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinityphoto/Data/Library/Application Support/user/ . You can simply overwrite it and you will be fine.

You can convert it into an editable pixel layer by right clicking and choosing Rasterise. You can’t turn it into a vector (autotracing) because that feature is not in Designer yet.

You could use a vector brush with a rough texture to give a rough edge.
Or expand the stroke of the original shape to create a new shape that can be painted inside to create the texture you require.
