  1. Got it, @GabrielM - it wasn't really responsive to touch but worked much better with the Apple Pencil. I'm slowly getting to grips with the apps and with Affinity's interface - thanks for the replies and the help of the Serif community too
  2. @toltec I want to put a border around an image. Problem with me being a newbie in Affinity is that I don’t know how to go about doing this. I think I did put a rectangular layer effect using outline but it just put a solid rectangle on top of the image thus hiding it. Any suggestions would be more that welcome.
  3. How can one create a border - either in a straight line or in a dashed line - like the one you can create with the “stroke” function in photoshop?
  4. @GabrielM it seems that it’s somewhat insensitive to touch controls and more responsive to Apple Pencil. I can now resize etc. Thanks!
  5. That is the problem though: I do that and I can indeed move and rotate the image - cannot resize/scale it though. Funny thing is that I can do this on Affinity Designer but not in Photo. Is it a bug?
  6. Hello. How can I scale/transform an image layer in Affinity Photo (iPad)? I'm trying to get to grips with the Affinity suite on the iPad (Photo and Designer) and cannot seem to find anything related to a relatively basic feature such as transforming an image layer on iPad. Found something for the desktop version but it does not seem to apply to the iPad interface.
  7. The option for colour picking really has to come to Affinity. And soon. Got stuck with that and I think that for the time being I'll have to switch back to Pixelmator - need to work and cannot be bothered with steep learning curves in software that has such omissions...
  8. Hello. I want to change the colours of this drawing and more specifically I want to make the lifework white and the background blue, light blue, red etc from top to bottom. Which app should I use? Affinity designer or Photo? What would be the optimal procedure? Antikythera mechanism final.pdf
  9. If you reinserted the file in AD and exported it again as eps without problems that is great but still doesn't account for my initial misgivings - too bad we don't have the afdesign file to test what was the problem.
  10. Disregard last reply on this thread, went back and attached the two files on the post itself. Hope we can get to the bottom of this because this sudden chain of problems really is troubling as far as my use of the software is concerned..
  11. Actually I've just encountered another problem with another EPS export. How can I attach the files? I can't seem to find a way to do it on replies to the topic.
  12. Preview doesn't open it, true, but in other programs such as photoshop there is an error message that said something about (problems with postscript" (I think).
  13. Sadly no, I erased it and reworked the image. Only difference between the two versions is that for the original file in question I copy/pasted separate EPS files in a new afdesign document whereas in the second file I pasted afdesign files in the large afdesign canvas. Don't know if that helps at all.
  14. Hi. cannot export EPS file, it's insane. Keep trying to reserve the file - it either hangs on my machine or just exports a useless eps file. Please help me ASAP, I need to send this for a job and am now totally dead in the water... Edit: I just received word of another problem wit a separate EPS export so I'm attaching the files in question on this post. medallions and armours.eps kopi xaraksi 3 sampe.afdesign kopi xaraksi 3 sample.eps
  15. I am trying to work with tiff files that are CMYK and fairly large. The "large" part isn't the problem - it's the fact that my files are improperly shown, just one part of it and never the whole image. I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with the file because they open just fine in photoshop right off the bat. Please help me out, I really need to get this done for a big project and would like to go Adobe-free as soon as humanly possible.
