I would like to be the first to offer support in this thread.
Adding 3 additional colour pickers for whites, mid grey & black to the curves tool would certainly add to the functionality. The facility to change and save the new colours gives the user the ability to use the tool for matching colours from a different image. This will be a big help for compositing. The ability to reset to default white, grey & black is also needed. This gives the tool far more flexibility than just using it to set black & white points.

Sry Patrick, I made a mistake: the picture with the biggest file size was from an aphoto file created with 1.6 and then saved untouched with 1.7  (not from the jpeg image). I re-uploaded the files (4 pictures).

    I confirm this too.

Thanks so much for your files, which all show more examples of the issue found and reported internally last week.
So this turns out to be an (unintended) consequence of a (late breaking) change to the code made for Affinity Publisher. It only affects compressed (like JPG) files.  Although Affinity 1.7.0 files are much bigger they will not continue to grow and grow, this should be a one off jump.
We will look at fixing this, but right now we are making Release Candidates of Publisher 1.7 now (with 1.7.1 updates for all other desktop apps due at the same time). So this close to Publisher release the developers do not want to risk putting a quick (untested) fix in. Therefore the 1.7.1 Photo and Designer updates next week are unlikely to be able to address this, sorry, but it will not be forgotten and there should be a beta soon after that addresses this issue.

This has been logged last week. I have now added all the files we've collected to the bug report. Thank you everyone for your help and support so far.

If you don't fancy tinkering in the registry, which is completely understandable and potentially dangerous for the less technically minded, there is a small app that you can use: http://techie007.3utilities.com/software/dpiawarenessenabler/

I believe proper drivers will solve this. They default generic pen drivers that comes with Windows has this issue we reported.
Try uninstalling the existing pen drivers and reinstall them.

The another reason could be because of one Windows 10 update that messed pen behavior.

Same problem here with stable version 1.6.5.123 on a Surface Pro 4; using the Surface pen with the brush tool I have only a pointer visible on screen and if I want to see the brush size (the circle) I have to move the mouse on the active area first, after doing so the pointer turns into a circle and I can use the pen, as Omprakash Selvaraj described.
PS: "show brush preview" enabled or disabled doesn't change anything.

    Hi Claudio60,

    Please see the file here

It's the .afphoto file so you can open it up see the different adjustments that have been applied.

Using the black and white version to get the detail for the left hand side, we cropped this down so it just had the left side showing and then applied a number of adjustments on top to try and match the overall colour of the image.

It's pretty straightforward what each adjustment does, as i've left them with the defaults names

    Hi stokerg,
I just downloaded the file and it seems to me you've done a good job, now I'm going to check which adjustements have been applied.to the image and see if I understand the procedure.
A big "thank you" for your kindness and effort, I appreciated it very much.
So, thanks again and have a nice evening!
