hannah got a reaction from ssssaaaa in Gradient Map terribly off-color when using CMYK values
There is a somewhat effortful workaround I found for matching my blacks to a predefined rich black (lets say 60/40/40/100).
+ You've to start with a K-only image or use the black-and white adjustment layer.
+ Then you can use the Channel Mixer and give each colour the desired value on the "black" slider. So for Cyan the output channel would be 0/0/0/60. For Magenta it would be 0/0/0/40, etc, etc, etc
You can see in the picture that the second rectangle merges now into the background. It solves my specific problem, I hate it though!

    Otherwise LOVE the programs

hannah got a reaction from Aammppaa in reusing a part of a path/curve/persona by select+copy/paste
    Good day!
If you would like to copy a part of any vectorshape, now you have to
    (1) copy the path, (2) select 2 nodes seperately, (3) break them, (4) ungroup the object, (5) delete the part you don't need. (6) break and delete node, if open path is required
    OR
    (1) copy the path, (2) draw a path on top of it that includes the area you'd like to keep, (3) mark the two objects, (4) use intersect-tool, (5) break and delete node, if open path is required
I would very much like to simply (1) SELECT the part of a curve I want and then press (2) COPY+PASTE to paste the selection.

    Thank you for considering!

    Hi @hannah,
Many thanks for the update & I'm sorry to hear you're affected by this issue.
I can confirm this is logged with our development team as a bug, so I will be sure to 'bump' this with them now & add the above provided information regarding the Channel Mixer workaround, to hopefully assist in the issue being resolved ASAP
    I hope this helps

Thank you very much MEB for this quick response and your explanation!
Though I must say that rather feels like a laborious work-around than a workflow-sustaining solution to me... similar to using "intersect" to achieve this.
well, nothing is perfect i guess.
May I ask you if developers are on this subject? Or is there any way to more officially ask for the implementation of a beloved feature?
    bon courage

    Hello fellows,
Can someone pleeeeeaaase explain to me how I can reuse only a part of a path?
I manage to mark several points, I can drag them around or delete them, but when I copy and paste them, Affinity Designer pastes me the whole path instead (not just the nodes I've previously selected). I'm only familiar with adobe illustrator, where this method (selecting, copy/paste) works like a charm. It's like an everyday thing to do for me and thus quite important for my work.
Thank you for your help and thank you guys from Affinity for that awesome application!

So, I did it for AfD, but I think I found the same settings in AfP. They have this double-dropdown menus which makes it really confusing, but you can defind your shortcuts for "Set fill to..." and "Set fill None" for deleting a fill.
Go to preferences>keyboard shortcuts and select in the menus what you see in the screenshots (one shows AfP, the other AfD).
    Hope that helps!

    Hi iriskin,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Go to  menu Affinity Designer > Preferences, Performance section and check if you have the Display dropdown set to OpenGL. If so change it to Metal and restart the app. Try setting the grid again.

In the Layers panel there's a cog icon to the right of the layer blend modes called 'Blend Ranges'.  If you click on that and then click on 'Coverage Map' it gives you the ability to adjust anti-aliasing.  Do any of the following settings do what you're looking to do?

    Hello dear people,
Would you know how to flip an object/shape through a self-defined point in AfD?
"Flip Horizontal" would always flip through center, even after dragging the  "center-point" to some place else. (Crosshairs-thingy in the screenshot). Moving this point makes my shape rotate around it, but has in my case no effect on other transformations than rotating).

    Thanks

In this case, What You See is not What You get! The value entered is remembered, but the value you see depends on the Display Property for entered widths. Go to Edit > Properties and you should find the facility to display widths with different numbers of decimal places. I am not at my desktop PC at present so I cannot be too precise.
