    We were sold version 2 on the understanding that all point releases would be free. If 2.5 turns out to be a paid upgrade, huge swathes of users will abandon ship.

    Canva is a subscription model, as Serif inform us themselves. So much for the 'No Subscriptions' tagline. We'll be 'allowed' to keep our current version, then from the next 0.1 revision we'll be offered a discount.

    The writing is on the wall. Serif have sold out.

    The only question is whether Affinity will offer a subscription in the future? I have bought a lot of brushes for your software. Especially on the Ipad, I am not willing to pay any subscription fees. I have purchased your software twice (v1. & v2). You say there are no plans for subscriptions at this time. But just wait until the Canva bosses change their minds, because greed is a virus in upper management. RIP, Adobe Alternative.

    Hi Rob,
    great image 👍🏼

    Editing RGB/32 images and converting / exporting has its challenges.
    Using the 32 bit preview in “unmanaged”, the image looks good. Changing to “ICC” (In desktop: ICC Display Transform) gives a too bright results.
    Generally, you should use “ICC” setting during edit to see how the exported image will look like.
    This lets me assume that the RGB/32 version is gamma encoded instead of linear.
    Depending on you edit process this can happen intentionally or by mistake.
    You can easily convert with help of procedural texture filter.
    R=R^2.2
    or R=^(1/2.2)
    (same for B and G channel).
    As you are using iPad, you need to create the PT filter on Desktop. To help you out here, I uploaded the corrected file. You can copy the layer named "Gamma 2.2" from the file I uploaded, and paste it into other files if required.

    Image below: You see that the file looks good even if "ICC Display Transform" is active.

    @ErrkaPetti Could you not have posted this is your previous comment (minus the insult) Instead of being so ambiguous? There is still the matter of, if you’ve already started painting (new document) you have to then to create a new pixel layer for the background, fill it, move it, lock it.
    This is just a feedback/suggestions post on user experience of other drawing programs like Procreate, Sketchbook etc and how they work differently, with a set background that is not part of your work, can’t be moved, locked, no edits made to it and such.
