Staff NathanC Posted December 17, 2023 Staff Share Posted December 17, 2023 Hi @Rob Chisholm, If you're referring to the canvas background/pasteboard on iPad you can change the Grey level under the App Settings > Interface > 'Background Grey Level' slider. New documents start out empty, and will look white unless you have enabled Transparent Background when you create them (or in Document Setup later). Rob Chisholm
Hello guys, thank you for the reply. Paul and Walt, I am referring to the white back ground in Pauls screen shots above. I prefer this to be grey, not vivid, hard on my eyes ever so bright. Procreate, I select layer, background click a colour and I am good to go. (That is the whole screen now grey on iPad) No need to drag a box on to the iPad affinity photo or indesign, to have a grey calm colour to use as a back ground. The other question was indesign forum where is it please ? I am on <https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/ipad/> see indesign photo click for forum and end up here. Which I think is just Affinity photo ? thank you in advance and I go and look at the links Paul. cheers Regards Rob
Rob Chisholm
Cool thank you Paul, yes that is the hardest link to find. https://affinity.help/designer2ipad/English.lproj/contents.xml I think I have my answer - I did not see a lot in YouTube on how to, maybe my search terms. I can feel a video coming on. " With a layer selected, tap Move to Back, Move Back One, Move Forward One or Move to Front on the Transform panel. Using these buttons, child layers can only be reordered within their parent layer."
Rob Chisholm
These are screen shots from iPad using designer. Background sorted thank you chaps. Sending layers back not so sure, the method I used is clumsy and too many presses and also layers would be hidden. What methods do you adopt chaps, when sending layers to the back, bring them forwards ? Regards Rob
