Files you save in Photo 2 will not be usable in Publisher and Designer V1. StudioLink in Publisher V1 will require Photo and Designer V1.
So, I think the answer for your question is: no.

Jon1 reacted to v_kyr in Exporting a PNG file from Designer
Some of youe exported files look like they have just an "xxx.a" extension from that "and as also" popup adding to the file name extension. - Omit that adding of such ".a" or ".a.png" stuff and make sure filenames for your export just have at their end an ".png" as an extension. - In cases where you really need an single "a" or the like at the ends of filenames, then better use an underscore sign instead of a point, aka "myfilename_a.png" instead of "myfilename.a.png". And generally make sure your exported files and their file extension don't look just like "myfilename.a" here then instead of "myfilename.png".

I find it  a bit strange that Agriggio who is making ART ( a fork of Rawtherapee , with advanced local adjustment ) is doing all the job by developing the prog  himself, and porting it to Linux. He's getting help from Gaaned92 with porting it to Windows and Carmelo_DrRaw porting it to Mac ...

In case you want to merge all visable layers together, select all layers in the layers panel. Next I used the top menu entry from the "layers menu" (Layers > Merge visable layers), instead/alternative you can also use the "Layers panel" context menu entry here (right click in the layers panel and select the "Merge visable layers" entry). That will generate and place a new layer at the top of the layers panel with all visable layers combined together. You can then hide or delete the single object layers beneath that one.

Why don't you do it the way I told you? - Afterwards (not shown in video), if you want though not needed to save/export, you can select all layers in the layers panel and merge them together into one layer.

Erase the white areas. Use the Colour Picker tool to select a suitable blue background colour. Create a new Fill Layer (Layer > New Fill Layer). This will be created using the selected colour as a layer on top of the stack. Drag this fill layer to the bottom of the stack. The blue background should now show through.  John

First inspect (from both screenshots) their width x height sizes in pixels ...
1206 x 957 Pixel at 96 dpi 1015 x 1066 Pixel at 96 dpi ... as you can see they are different. Now take the longest width 1206 pixels and sum the heights (957 + 1066) = 2023 pixels.
Create a new document with width x height of 1206 x 2023 pixels at 96 dpi. Place/load in both images in that same new created document (File > Place ...) Now lower the layer transparency of one image, so you can look through and arrange/position it exactly on the other where you want. If placed correctly change the layer transparency of the one image back to full. Lock the image layers in the layers panel, so they don't accidently remove from the position and group them together. Place rectangles to fill the white gaps with the blue color of the map. Combine all layers to one if you want and crop the whole to remove white unsused bottom document areas. Save and export to the bitmap format you need.

Well, since both screenshots don't have equally size dimensions ...

... you have to tricks a little bit with those here.
I added (covered) the missing white regions (and the bottom left only as half available area) with blue rectangles, so it looks like one map. - To place/overlay the two screenshots I made the top placed layer first slightly transparent (layer transparency), so I could arrange and see where to place over the other one. Afterwards grouped and changed the top layer's transparency back to full. Then I filled/covered the gaps with blue rects etc.

    Hallo @Gaudee,
    Willkommen in diesem Forum.

    Hello Gaudee,
    Welcome to this forum.
to minimize the reflection is my favorite the frequency separation.

    short description:
    Duplicate the opened image
    Apply the Filter Frequency-Separation
set the radius to 4 px
    Activate the Layer High Frequency
with the selections brush to select an area to be edited
deselect the layer High Frequency and select the Low Frequency
Use the paintbrush to pick up paint from near the area to be worked on (shortcut ALT and left mouse button)
    paint over the selected area
set the blend mode in hue or color (set the opacity as needed)
    repeat this for other areas

The image is edited with the current beta.

    Cheers

I'm really not sure why you're all discussing this. We have never given out ETA on releases / patches / betas, etc (and never will, for obvious reasons). I realise you may be excited to try out the new version as an official retail release (or even get a new beta update), but complaining about slow development is not an accurate thing to say. The Windows version has massively improved performance in the most recent betas, and we continue to add new features, and fix bugs as we go. The time period between releases does not reflect the amount of work that is happening, it merely reflects the time delays between when I make a build, how it gets on with internal testing, and then when I release it to the public. We have builds that are never released onto the forum (which happened last week, build #308 crashes on Windows 7, so it was never released externally).
And with regards to GPU Compute, yes it's something that's on my roadmap, but the complexities of implementing this on Windows are far greater than macOS. macOS has one GPU manufacturer, and Apple are in control of the drivers (you get the latest ones automatically). Windows has at least 3 GPU manufacturers, and the drivers are in a variety of different states and ages - we see that from bug reports here on the forum (i.e. crashes that are solved by merely uninstalling and reinstalling your GPU drivers).
Aside from GPU Compute (and ability to load RAW files via Apple RAW engine), there are no feature differences between the macOS and Windows versions.

I also have this desire to have a new version ASAP - specially when I know its packed with some good, new features - just like 1.7 seems to be. But lets keep in mind one really important thing - something that I cant stretch enough. The outstanding level of integration between Affinity software. You can open file from Designer inside of Photo and see no difference - vectors are still vectors, all looks practically the same. I havent used Adobe software for over 2 years now but I remember opening AI file inside of PS was very limited and lot of objects was rasterized loosing ability to be edited and scaled properly. Knowing Adobe it didnt changed. In my opinion Affinity really shines when it comes to integration.
Now, we are getting whole new software to the Affinity family and I am willing to bet devs are working on similar level of integrity. Can you imagine the complexity of that task? Not only we have lots of new tools in each of the existing programs, the whole new software but also integration between them. It surely needs lot of work, lot of time to be done properly.
    Properly... Thats another thing.
Affinity is fighting for a position on the market and the fight is (mostly) against massive corporation named Adobe. Affinity just cant afford half-assing their product for the big day of introducing new software to the family. Rushing would be silly and would surely backfire. Publisher might convince many people to jump ship.

In the meantime Adobe is working hard to help Affinity by threatening owners of old licenses with possible lawsuits if they do not join "The Almighty Cloud". Unbelievable. You bought the license, but they just want to force people into monthly pay no matter what.
That comes shortly after news that they are "testing" new price for Photography Plan - which is basically "lets double the price, we were too generous. Lets squeeze that $10 more MONTHLY". The geniuses of marketing.
So while we are watching Adobe shooting their feet repeatedly we need to be patient. Devs need to make it right. I have no doubt that Affinity may become new "industry standard". In fact I already planned on purchasing Publisher solely to support company. I dont really need it all that much. Maybe occasionally for tables. And if I need to wait bit more to get great 1.7 - so be it. Working on current versions just fine for now.
