I've noticed a few improvements that need to be made with this. If not for your discussion I might not have found them so soon—thanks guys   

Double-clicks seem to not always go to zero:
Channel Mixer, double-clicking a 100% default goes to zero. Posterise goes to 4 levels (from default 16). Threshold goes to 50%. Lens Filter goes to default 50%. fx Outer/Inner Shadow Opacity goes to 100%, Radius to 5px, Intensity to 50%. ...and so on. This doesn't bother me, btw. Some of these are fairly handy.
Neatly also: if you double-click to zero, then double-click again, it returns to its former value (handy if the double-click was an accident, for testing with-without changes).

I'm just crashing whilst batch processing the tiff files to jpegs... It doesn't even seem to get as far as attempting to apply one of the macros. I'll get it passed on  Thank you.

Would you be able to upload your macros to this Dropbox folder? We need to figure out of the macros are causing the crash or if it is part of the batch process.
I probably have enough TIFF files but maybe stick a few of those in too, if you can.

Yes, we can wish for the moon, but what top three pragmatic changes (that seem 'reasonably easy' to do) would you wish for in the final version of Affinity Photo 1.7?
Mine are:
Use the excellent colour range selection in the new HSL in Select Sampled Colour. Restore HSV checkbox in HSL. Double-click all sliders to reset to default/zero.

It amazes me that people buy a new software, and expect it to function just like PS. I wonder if the OP took the time to try out AP before deciding on purchasing it? IMHO, those that want AP to be just like PS needs to stick with PS. I hope AP does not become a mirror, clone or so close to PS it's hard to differentiate the two.

@R C-R has declared, how Styles yourself on vector graphics and pixel graphics affect.
In your attached file I noticed that the selections not very well selected is.
This makes the application of styles very difficult.
An option would be,  that tracing the contour with the pen tool, then apply the styles on the curves.

I think Gnobelix is spot on here. 
It looks like you've either tried to tidy something up and it has left behind some pixels or there's maybe it is from the camera sensor? 
I'd be interested to see the original file if you have it? Or is that the original file with a Gaussian Blur and that's all you've done to it?

I do not think it's a bug, there are defective pixels you see.
With the Impainting-Tool or Clone-Tool paint over the affected areas and good is.

Hey I found one of them. Clicking on the Hamburger menu, top-right of layer panel gives you Small, Medium and Large choices. Haven't found the assets panel yet.

I was speculating on how Equations could be used to create a ripple-like effect in a reflection. I used an image of a Mill on the River Avon at Tewkesbury. I flipped the image vertically and then applied Filter > Distort > Equations as follows.
The main effect is to vary the position of each pixel on the y-axis in a sinusoidal fashion, so I began with:
y=y+100*sin(2*360*y/h)
The 100 is just a scaling factor for now. This had the right effect but was the same right across the image, so I added a cosine function which would vary the magnitude across the x-axis:
y=y+100*cos(10*x/w)*sin(2*360*y/h)
Again the 10 here is a scaling factor. The result was:
 
I should be able to tweak this into a macro where the user could vary the amplitude of the ripple, and the amplitude of the horizontal variation.
A further tweak could be to add a perspective effect so that the ripples nearer the observer look larger than those further away.
What do possible users think. Would this be a useful macro or are there easier ways to get the same effect?

I've now confirmed the bug, and fixed it, and I'll try to get a new build out over the weekend. I've also fixed the issue with Develop converting images to a linear colour profile.

It's possible that it hasn't been translated yet. It's in the UK Eng Help if you search for 'sub brushes'. I've tried switching to German but as I can't read it very well, I'm having trouble finding (and searching) for it. I'll keep looking.
As for the Spacing setting, you need to uncheck the option for 'Sync size' under Sub Brushes.

The overall process in this version is slow. Brush format is a thing with [ ]
