HI there my name is Chris-James and I'm a creative writer who is getting back into self publishing after over ten years. I have a current project as well as a previous project that was done in Adobe Indesign (I have all the files). I wish to create my new book as well as edit and re-typeset the old one, which is basically text in various fonts with simple black and white images. I was wondering 1. If affinity publisher would do the job of creating my new manuscript and 2. If I could edit the indesign file, and if not, at least pull the graphics from indesing and re-embed them in a new version of the manuscript (I have text only versions of it also) to edit and re-create my old novel.

Ik had Windows 10 pro n en via Windows update naar Windows 11 pro n overgegaan.

Welke versie van win 11 heb je?  via windows insider of de regulaire?
wat voor video kaart gebruik je.  wat zijn je windows kleur instellingen?

Most of those features are geared toward hobby photographers, not professional. Professional, and hobby photographers that are serious, have studied, and know how to take care of those issues in camera. Shooting with proper lighting for the situation, proper shutter speed, aperture, and ISO eliminates a lot of those. That may leave the need for some minor retouching, which Affinity Photo can handle easily. However for AP to do so, the user must learn and understand how AP works. For professional and serious hobbyists, cameras, lenses, strobes, flashes, filters, umbrellas, or other lighting control devices, tripods, and applications are tools of their trade.

You also can use  open source inscape  that can vectorise  you bitmap sign and do it better than PHotoshop .   By copy/pasting your bitmap there and do Path>Trace bitmap     I don't think APhoto should waste their resources for features already available for free .  

As windows and AP user, I use AbeMedia as DAM, way... It let me see all my raw files, nef, cr2. And I can open them directly in AP.  For my its not needed to update my Raw files I want them so they are for later edit if I want it.
AbeMedia has the option to set tags for every photo, images or other.  So  quit easy to search fast thru all the images. If I search on special data its possible. 

I have the 2018 version working in both 1.10.4 and 1.10.5.

Which version do you have and in what way is not working?

I'am working now a week with the beta 1.10.5  and hardware acceleration at ON.  
thrue now I have no crashes like 1.10.4  without hardware acceleration, so we are on the right way I think.
The beta is starting up faster then 1.10.4  so far my experiences.

I have a lot of questions.
First and foremost: Are you going to fix your programs?
For more than a year, the brush engine has been broken and many people have written about it. About the "convenient" quick color select, I generally keep quiet. When will this be fixed?
Now the program is extremely unstable. Yes, you are making your own fast pixel engine. But what good is it if the program constantly crashes.
There is still no normal Windows ink support. Either graphics tablets are not supported, or the program ignores the mouse in this mode, or something else. And again the question is, when will this be fixed?
Many problems have existed for years, and it is not known that they will be solved at all.
There are also just a bunch of things that are long overdue to add.
Users have been asking you for years. But it’s like you’re just ignoring.
Even free software developers do not allow this.
Please share something with us.
Programs are in a terrible state of disrepair. I bought them to work, but in fact I received non-working tools.

A clean install of your graphics drivers might help with hardware acceleration if you want to run it. There is that option in the NVIDIA Geforce experience app.
