j3rry reacted to AffinityJules in Continuing Exploration of Metra Prime (picture 3)
This, by rights, should've been picture 4 in the series, but due to a major computer malfunction I lost the version (3) I was working on.
Hey-ho.
# I don't trust technology.

j3rry got a reaction from iuli in Golden November
For this picture I had to completely replace the sky, which at first seemed unfeasible. Then I remembered a channel selection in this context. So I selected the blue channel (the main colour of the overcast sky), inverted it and cropped it with a mask. Selected a new sky and inserted it under the leaves layer. The rest was then just a matter of adjusting the tonality and colour.

j3rry reacted to walt.farrell in Missing Curves adjustment layer dialog box
As far as I know, it's how Adjustments have always worked in V2 on the iPad.
Even V1 works that way.

Your screenshot shows that you are trying to look at Curves Adjustment Presets and you don't have any saved.
If you want to add a Curves Adjustment, leave the panel set to Adjustments, and click on Curves in the list:

j3rry got a reaction from lepr in Happy Halloween
My own photo of Bran Castle, the alleged residence of Count Dracula, in Transylvania, taken in 2016, formed the basis for this image. It was covered with the texture dragonshield by D.Wuestenhagen (included in Affinity Photo 1) and the decoration was done with the great Halloween assets by user @v_kyr . The font is a free TrueType font called Ghastly Panic Font by Chad Savage http://www.sinisterfonts.com
All edited in Affinity Photo 2.2.1.

j3rry reacted to Kasper-V in Anaeroid barometer
I made a picture of an old-fashioned barometer because . . . well, because I can! Who needs an excuse? I discovered quite a while ago that I enjoy making things with scales and pointers, for some reason; and the Version 2 Duplicate dialogue makes it so much easier to make circular scales. The woodwork is created from a stock photo of a piece of wood, which I sawed into quarters and turned a profile edge (digitally, that is ). All the rest is made from vectors, using three photos for reference and picking out the best features. (There were some curlicues on the thermometer scales, but I forgot to do them! ) The red letters are from a freebie font called Great Victorian, which has plain and swashed cap forms. -
