Missing Curves adjustment layer dialog box

When I tap the adjustment layer tool to access Curves, upon selecting the curves adjustment, no dialog control box appears. Other adjustments act as they should with the exception of color balance, and channel mixer. They have appeared in the past. What is happening?

I can second that, no adjustment dialog for curves on my ipad with ap 2.2.1.

Your screenshot shows that you are trying to look at Curves Adjustment Presets and you don't have any saved.

If you want to add a Curves Adjustment, leave the panel set to Adjustments, and click on Curves in the list:

As far as I know, it's how Adjustments have always worked in V2 on the iPad. 

Even V1 works that way.

In what way? How the two different mechanisms work, or that V1 worked the same way? (Because it does, when I tried it before posting.)
