So let me first start off by saying I am a visual designer. I do graphic work, but I have been trying to draw more lately. I spend a lot of my time doing corporate branding type work. Now that Affinity Designer is here it really has freed me from the Adobe world. I am not very good at drawing directly into the computer( I really not as good at drawing as I want to be either) and to be honest I prefer to step away from the screen and doodle in a sketchpad. After I am done doodling I take a picture of my work with my phone and import my drawing. I use the drawing tools to trace, alter, clean up, and embellish my work.
This is my first go beyond doodling and it was all completed in Affinity Designer! I did not experience one crash. The program is as fast, smooth and intuitive as they say.
I am looking forward to growing with this application! So much to learn so little hours in a day!
Thanks guys! You really are putting a powerful and respectable tool in our hands!

Relaxed drawing of a classic topic. Wanted to get the outlines right so it took some time.
Used 2 different textured brushes for overlays and clouds. Half of them with a 50% Gaussian Blur.
Always thought that cat in the story is great - so it got a Martini ;)

I had more fun while creating this tiny dragon with Affinity Designer. I love it so far. To be more experienced, I have to work more and am looking frward to see more from your works and hopefully more Tutorials, that show some more of your workingprocess.

I'm somehow addicted to painting software... Started with Fauve Matisse in 1994, I've been using any painting app produced since that.

Obviously like vector too... Former Aldus Freehand user, forced to Illustrator after Macromedia fusion...
Love Serif approach to graphic software since the first release of PagePlus.
In 2009 switched to OSX so I missed Serif apps so much.
AD is getting my work-horse for vector illustration.

Can you show us a little more from your process to the finish Art? At the end of Tutorial 02 to the start of Tutorial 03 there is a huge lack of work - I need this to undersatnd which workflow is useful. Thank you so much!

Guys, it should be great app for microstock contributors. There're a huge amount of users, who can prefer AD instead of Illustrator. But there're many things that you need to do, if you want to increase the amount of users.
The main thing for microstock illustrators is normal export to EPS format, especially EPS10, that all microstocks approve (http://goo.gl/oIYOpA). "Normal":
1) without problems of rasterization (now with gradients)
2) with handy option of expanding, like in AI (text, brushes, lines, etc.)
3) with the possibility to continue editing in Illustrator - hope it's temporary.

You are just amazing! Waiting for more comfortable version for microstock illustrators. You must think about this, seriously. Microstock users are a huge piece of world market of illustrators.
