  1. AP team has so far explained that file size is needed for smooth operation and processing speed. It is possible that file size cannot be shrank without sacrificing operation speed.
  2. You can develop raw files as you want in LR but as soon as you move them to external editor they cannot be saved back to raw. It does not matter which editor you use, LR just takes back TIFF or PSD.
  3. I guess you refer to bleed. You can make your design elements as big as you like, extending well beyond document dimensions, and bleed settings cut them in export as desired.
  4. It is available in Develop persona. In normal work space it is available in Levels-tool where you typically set white and black points. Press option and click slider. I just really REALLY wish this was available in Curves too.
  5. I assume you are using Designer. Setup is quite simple. 1. Document Setup... > Bleed – enter bleed value (I use millimeters) 2. Export... > PDF> More – tick Include bleed and Include printers marks Export. Now you have a document that is slightly bigger that original dimensions, extra area has printers marks. If you want just to print your design apply Bleed and Printers marks in the printer dialog.

  7. Rhino can print to PDF just like any mac app. You have to set vector output on in print dialog to keep vectors.
  8. I also wished some considerable time ago that it would be nice to keep panorama images separate in layers.... autoalign but no merge.
  9. Well... If placed PDFs are same size you can use guides to snap them to register. Or use transform panel to move them. Preferably the canvas should be of same size as placed PDFs which would help some. As linked files are not supported it is not possible to refresh design easily when PDFs are replaced with newer versions. Mentioned Replace Document may help some. It may be that third problem comes from CAD software.. they often create a lot of shapes within coloured designs. Generally walls and floors are not simple closed paths but a bunch of lines and random triangle shapes. Why use pixel software for vector work? I would think vector tools would be better. (I do not do architecture a lot these days so I cannot recommend any ideal solution.)
  10. Outline effect converts whole set pixels in export. With layer copy you can keep vectors.
  11. make a copy of text layer select text with text tool adjust stroke width and colour set layers in right order (stroked behind the original)
  12. Right. Usually I open a drawing which I have gotten from somewhere else or generated with other software, notice that all blacks are rich blacks (again), select all rich black lines ("select same line colour") and replace them with K100... I have not seen any global color here.
  13. This effect also now in latest beta exports to PDF right, having vector edge and pixel fill, not anymore all rasterized.
  14. Thank god it is now so easy and quick with Indy+LinkOptimizer+PS-combo. (Yes, I wish Publisher will have LinkOptimizer functionality built in.)
  15. I think I have seen such software mentioned, but indeed there would be some trouble as R C-R points out. There should be all kinds of behaviour rules etc. And I do not think Postscript/PDF would support such paths; they should be translated to ordinary paths in export.
  16. AD just cannot open that file right. Probably some elements in EPS that are not supported in import. Here is a PDF generated by Illustrator which should open right in AD: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/bmzonu4m1v11c6h/construction [Converted].pdf
  17. I would turn images to greyscale and use curves to lighten paperwhite to desired lightness. Possibly darken blacks too and set midtones to give text desired boldness. I assume readability is the aim of this operation (maybe ocr would be also desired).
  18. I think some raw conversion processes are set to crop ORF files bit differently. Seems in ORF there is some meta preference to crop some outer pixels off the final image and some converters honor that bit differently than others. I don't think differences hava any real world impact.
