Maybe a Tool like AutoHotKey (Win only) could be helpful
AutoHotKey can be used to automate program tasks in many programs.
(useful if a Program have no Scripting build in)This allows keyboard shortcuts and mouse events to be sent to
Affinity Designer, for example, which are then executed there.
-
like to add, there are also a few online SVG wave generators
and Processing could maybe also be helpful ?
https://processing.org/examples/sinewave.html -
I am not shure if it's helpful, but when I read this post
I thought you might want to check out "Nodebox 3" (PC/Mac) free.Nodebox is a program that allows you to create vector graphics using nodes.
It also allows data entry as .csv the result can be saved as .SVG or .PDF.Here are some examples from their help page
https://www.nodebox.net/node/documentation/using/data-visualizationThere is also an online version called “Nodebox Live”.

Adobe present something interesting about that
a while ago.
Where the most interesting thing is that you
can save the result as SVG.
here the video -
"Screentogif" is a nice little Tool (PC only)
which i use often to record screens
Here a few alternatives for Mac

eh yes for photoshop, not affinity. Guess i shuld have written that. Photoshop isnt interesting to me, who cares about them, i dont RENT software. But thats why it somewhat works in affinity too.
To be honest, I'm not really up to date with plugins.
But even if Photoshop was specified, shouldn't a plugin
for MacOS also work for Affinity Photo and others of course? -
-
Apart from the Work, one reason why there are more plugins for Windows
is probably the number of Users and therefore the larger Buyer Base.
I found these numbers here: ca 73% use Windows and ca 16% use MacOS.I'll leave it uncommented that only MacOS are ... THE platform for serious graphics
designers and creative people ...But it leaves the question why the Affinity Suite is also available for Windows.

The Example in the Video looks a bit ugly too me.
So here a few Examples from the Filterforge Filter Library
i like the Plastic Wrap from Redcaphttps://www.filterforge.com/filters/search.html?q=plastic+effect&h=r
Btw Filterforge works quit nice on Win 10 -

I evolved some kind of feeling for the different brushes too.
agree with that
In any case, people always try to get a feeling for something, be it painting,
driving a car, dancing and of course digital painting.
For anyone who wants to get an overview of what AI is. How AI is trained
and where AI is used and will be used. There is a good video series on
“The Royal Institute” Christmas lectures for kids. It's definitely not childish 🙂
Here are the Links:

" I need to feel the oily matter on my fingers because that's how I work."
That's also the point I see.
In my Eyes, no digital device comes close to the sensitivity of natural media.
Even a simple pencil or ink brush allows so many different forms of expression
in the hand of a well-trained artist. That's why Ai doesn't impress me.
Even though it will probably find its way into many areas.
But don't underestimate the possibilities of humans.
Can recommend to anyone get to know and appreciate the human
abilities properly.

the Problem is the Word Canvas
of course you can create plain a canvas
but Papers are special canvases where
Watercolor, Oil react differently
If you happy with the Papers that come with Rebelle
than there is no need to buy PapersYou can not create Papers yourself
But a plain Canvas -
-
As this is a thread about ai, just in short.
I think Canvases are call Papers in Rebelle
No. I am never in need to buy any, the ones
that came with Rebelle was totally fine for me.Brushes.
You can create your own there is a pretty
good Brush Creator Feature in Rebelle.
Even with double brushes. But i am no
pro with that. -

Even because all the additional stuff like canvases, brushes and stencils cost a lot of money, and it is still not clear to me if you can create them on your own as easy as in other apps.
Yes, you can purchase additional papers, but Rebelle comes
with some papers. Is not necessary. (Have 8 here in Rebelle 7 Pro)I don't know where you've seen expensive brushes for Rebelle.
I didn't find anything in the shop. (The only brushes in the shop
are for “FlamePainter”)Stencils are free and are simple grayscale PNGs. It's easy to create
your own ( you can also copy your Artrage stencils over to Rebelle )Since Rebelle 7 it is now possible to import an SVG path.
(works with SVGs from Affinity Designer too)
If you activate this path in Rebelle, place it on the canvas
your brush will follow then this path.
(this works with all brushes, including erasers, Smudge,
Liquify, Water and Drybrush)Due to poor UI design only one path/stencil can currently be
active and visible on the canvas, I've already brought this up
on the Rebelle Forum. The developers want to change this.An important Note:
This Rebelle 7 update is not off to a good start, but the devs
are in the process of fixing the bugs. I think it's worth giving
them some time.
Here a SVG Path from Affinity Designer
Can anyone recommend to watch some Youtube videos about
the new Features in Rebelle 7. -
i get the point with Photobashing, good point
understand that and of course nothing speaks
against improvements -
Just out of curiosity, why would you expect features of a Paint program from an,
as the name already suggests "Affinity Photo" photo editing / image editing program ?Why dont use a paint program that already exist ?

Unfortunately, I cannot answer such specific questions. So it's better to ask them in
the Vectorstyler forum, where someone with better knowledge can answer you.But I can say that the splatter and pattern brush only works with vector objects
and not with bitmaps.I know that both are possible in Xara. VectorStyler has a few Bitmap effects, but generally
it is purely vector graphics based. And I would also say that it is not as fast as Xara.I have a copy of Magix Graphics Designer 16 and 19 (same as Xara) installed here.
Which work without any major problems under Win 10. I bought the 16 version very cheaply
on Steam. By the way, Black Fryday Sale is coming soon again.

@kirk23
in the meantime, it could be that you would be happy
with "VectorStyler". Which offers vector Pattern Brush,
Scatter Brush, Brush construct of grouped vector Objects.
Brush creation even with Blend of two ore more Objects
if you group the Blend Result.
Take a look at the Tutorial from their Forum which i
recommend in this Post.

btw. i know "Expression" and "Xara" too

in the meantime there is also a way via
a little Tool Programon PC there is a Tool called "LazyNezumi"
this allows different Rulers in every Program
you could capture
https://lazynezumi.com/rulers
on Mac there is a Tool called "Hejstylus"
https://hejstylus.com/features-in-detail
the Ruler Section description is below the middle -

What I would've loved to see for more than a decade, is a vector editing software that approaches parametric path instancing & manipulation in a similar way to how the MoGraph Cloner works in Cinema4D.
Would also recommend to take a look at Cavalry (PC, Mac), its called
the MoGraph for Vector graphics
There is a free Version, you need only an account
Instead of Export or Save you have to Render your result
e. g. as .SVG but is basically the same
Here their Website
https://cavalry.scenegroup.co/ -
My guess is that this won't be available in Affinity Designer any time soon.
Alternatively, you could take a look at VectorStyler, which has many of the tools you want.
Vector Brushes, Pattern Brush, Vector Eraser, Knife, Trim and Joint and a few more.As a unique Feature, it is even possible to convert a Blend of one or more Vector Objects
into a Pattern Vector Brush.
As this Tutorial here shows:
https://www.vectorstyler.com/forum/topic/2089/playing-with-blend-in-pattern-brush -
@Nigelum
Hi
In case you dont know there is vector graphics animation program
called “Cavalry” (Mac/PC). There is also a free version, you just need
to create an account.
Instead of saving the results, they need to be rendered.
You can also export an SVG file (also via rendered).
Here the Link:

Such an option has been available in “Vectorstyler”
since the new version 1.2 BetaYou find the command at
Menu > Object > Shape > Convert to Dashes
(There may be a small arrow at the bottom of the object menu,
the command will then be below this arrow)

even a Watercolor like Brush and an infinite canvas
