  1. That's a great article (and I've read a few on this topic). Nice illustrations too
  2. oh wow, thank you so much for this study. I've been using AP so extensively and curves too and never noticed the range parameters. That makes a big difference. Also I like the fact they are not just "gating" the effect of curve, like could be done with the layer Blend Options, but rather compressing the curve to fit in the range and extend with linear. That provides a smooth transition between effected and non effected tonal ranges. anyway, thanks again
  3. As a workaround, you can use Affinity Photo live Mesh Warp filter. It will distort the gradient fill, enclosing shape or both depending where you place it in the layers stack
  4. The choice of which filter is also available as live filter doesn't seem to follow a clear logic. Most categories of filters are represented in the live filter list. Unfortunately, some very useful filters like mirror, pixelate ... are excluded from live filters. It would be great to add them for more flexibility. Also, live filters have the preserve alpha setting which regular filters lack. The request would be to include all filters in the live filter category
  5. Most dialog (panels, adjustments, fx) retain their position when closed. Filter dialogs (live and destructive) keep opening on the bottom right and, if moved, do not retain their position the next time they are called. Would be great to have a behaviour similar to adjustments where if any adjustment dialog is moved to a more convenient position, any new adjustment dialog opens at this position and not the default bottom right.
  6. it would be good to add the double click action in the bottom tooltip Double click - remove pressure point
  7. Once the artifacts will be sorted out, this feature will be great. Some nice things can be obtained quickly by iteratively applying line width and Expand Stroke several times. I find the results more organic, less mechanical than contour tool due to varying line width, which can be interesting in some applications.
  8. Got it. Thank you Bryan for clarifying this. Agree with your usability suggestions, wouldn't have found out by myself
  9. regarding enhancement 2, I really like the idea and using = for this but for some reason I can get it to work. I get a red = sign when I enter in W or H in transform panel
  10. trying to replicate the nice circle design with 0 to 100% pressure curve, I found that rendering has some issues at higher zoom levels. This is the same design at different zoom levels (on Macbook M2) zoom levels.afdesign
  11. sure, here it is expand variable width line.afdesign
  12. Thanks for this feature, it's going to be great Found an issue when expanding strokes
  13. I like the place panel but I would like it to be persistent. If I drag 20 images and start placing them one by one (not autoflow), I cannot stop the process or switch to another tool to make a small adjustment, otherwise the place panel disappears and I loose track of what images have already been placed. Making it persistent like any other panel would be very helpful when working with imported assets
  14. I've just tested it and it works great ! Really making a huge change when clipping multiple images into multiple shapes, this is now real smooth. Thanks for listening to user feedback and the great work done in each release
  15. Yes, this can be a workaround but not a practical one. In fact, I do not really see a use case for merging all artboards in one layer, that can be visualized in full. So current implementation looks to me more an oversight or trade-off rather than design intent.
