Brush Engine
Ruslan TV replied to Ruslan TV's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
Ok. I'm using programs that already exist. If we are talking about graphic suites, Affinity Photo is a challenger to Photoshop. And Photoshop is the most popular software for digital painting. I think it's a logical step to push AP in this direction to attract a huge number of professionals. Honestly, AP can't beat Adobe in photo editing for professional photographers because they are using Lightroom first of all. Affinity has no cataloging or shooting playback features as Lightroom has. It's just a cheap alternative for collages and colorgrading for graphic designers. In the field of digital painting, it's much easier to beat Photoshop. Many small teams have already done this (ArtstudioPro, Procreate, InfinitePainter, Clip Studio, et cetera). I love Affinity's nondestructive pipeline and performance optimization, but I can't use this software in my day-to-day work. I keep watching every update and waiting for improvements. -
Need more advanced pixel Brush Engine. Affinity brushes is so basic. It's OK for line work and sketches. But when it comes to painting, it's pain. Developers can compare feel of brushes with ArtstudioPro, Procreate, InfinitePainter, Clip Studio etc. Photoshop brushes isn't as good as in software above, but still better then Affinity. Need wetness and mixing settings, better render and movement tracing, better tilt settings and control. Need option to control size parameter with pressure and tilt in the same time.

Affinity Photo 2 | Copy "Selected" From "Image layer"

Thank you! It's good point. Ctrl+shft+c works fine on desktop. I need it in the Quick menu on iPad! -

Sorry. This post is copy of one from a suggestion part of the forum. In my working perspective it's look similar to bug. ---------------- Hi! IMHO Affinity Photo 2 has a logic misstep about Copy Selection from Imported "Image Layer" now. If you are making a selection from just an imported image and trying to make a Pixel Layer with this selection (by Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V), you can't. The app makes a copy of the full layer (ignore selection) and its duplicate image layer. It's a critical thing if you are doing photobash or doing many copies of different parts of an image. Now for this operation you have to rastrize, layer first. It's annoying and makes work slower.

Another important thing for me. If you are using a brush, you have a hotkey "Alt + click" for Eye Dropper. But if you are using a Bucket Fill it isn't work. In many cases, when you are making flat coloring of line art, you are working with Bucket Fill, you need to quickly copy the color from a reference or another part of the image and fill in that shape. But hotkey doesn't work. It's annoying for ex-photoshop users.
