Andyneu
When I open a photo then put a white mask over the photo and then insert another photo using the "place" command, AffinnityPhoto always crashes. Windows version Chris B
Uwe367
I can confirm this behavior. Photo quits without an error message. Have a nice day. Ich wünsche einen schönen Tag.
Rick G
Can you give exact steps and perhaps a screen shot of your layers area just before it crashes? I tried and I am not getting a crash, but am willing to try and reproduce your steps. Thanks PS The next step to rule out a bug is to do what they call a control runup ... hold the control key down while you start the program and reset it to factory defaults. But let me test on this end Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

It doesn´t matter if you choose black, white, transparent or overlay. But it only occurs with the quick mask, not if you add a New Mask Layer via Menu Layer --> New Mask Layer. Gnobelix
Hello @Uwe367, thanks for your test, i can confirm the crash by using the quick mask. User @dmstraker has discovered a similar error, look here. Ron P.
I'm curious about this too. I can understand applying a mask to a layer, but not using quick mask. Uwe367
Andy noticed this error and i only checked what happens on my system and there was the same. Not more But a Crash is a Crash, no matter how it occurs. Whether this method makes sense or not is, in my opinion, of secondary importance in this case. Have a nice day. I agree, I was just thinking maybe he was using some technique I had not came across, and of course would like to learn. That's all. Andyneu
For me, working with masks is still new and I just played a little with the masks. Placing me was not very clear where that should be and so I tested it. Now I know what the order is for. But you could also use it for crashing I am new to this matter and my English is not the best so I have to try a lot. It would be perfect if your tutorials were also translated into German. But I'm absolutely thrilled with how you respond to information and try to solve the problems immediately. Very much praise from me to you. Keep it up
