DavidMac
I am a bit baffled. The attached screen shot is from AP help in beta 1.7.0.110. I cannot find a Place Image Tool in AP - only in AD. Is this an item that has got into AP help by mistake? Or is it planned for AP and included in help but not yet implemented? Or, or ............... ?? Alfred
In the Windows versions of APh (retail and beta) I see a ‘Place...’ command on the File menu but no ‘Place Image Tool’. fde101
My guess? That help text may have been copied erroneously from the other applications?

jmwellborn
Same thing in Photo for MAC v. 1.6.11. There isn't a picture tool at all in either version. 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD storage, Ventura 13.6.7. There's a Place Image tool in Affinity Designer (below is the beta, but it's in the release version too): Affinity Photo 2.5.3, Affinity Designer 2.5.3, Affinity Publisher 2.5.3, Mac OSX 14.5, 2018 MacBook Pro 15" Intel. DavidMac
I think that most of your replies have confirmed my instinct that it is a misplaced help instruction from AD. What I do find bizarre is that jmwellborn has posted a help page apparently from the same beta that does not include this. Curiouser and curiouser ....... Staff Chris B Posted February 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2019 I've asked if we want to add the tool or just remove it from the Help. I'll let you know once I hear back. Thanks all. Update—it will be removed from Help. How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Staff acapstick Posted February 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2019 Hi everyone - AndyC from Affinity docs here - it's highly unlikely that docs will document functionality in advance of it appearing in the UI. Mainly because we see the code at the same time as beta testers see it, and we update for the subsequent build. :-) Assume that we've had a hiccup in docs for issues like this - just flag it and I'll fix in pronto! \AndyC MEB, Andy Somerfield and Chris B
