Hi!

Coming from Figma and Sketch, I litterally can’t work without Symbols. Now, I have like 30 symbols to create… and I cannot believe I have to use the mouse to select an create each one of them.

Can you add a keyboard shortcut for Create Symbol command? Like Cmd + K…

While at it, it would be nice if we could add multiple Symbols at once with another keyboard shortcut: Cmd + Alt + K

Thank you very much!

How should the application know that it is several individual symbols and not one more complex symbol?

If you have individual symbols encapsulated in Groups/Layers, then just mark all these individual groups in the Layers Panel, and several separate symbols will be created at once - so you don't have to create them individually.

Each individually selected object is turned into a Symbol (along with its children), no matter how many are selected, no matter how they're positioned in the hierarchy, the "make this into a Symbol" action presumes the user wanted that of all selected objects. Simple, quick.

We have added create symbol to the layer menu (allowing you to assign a shortcut if you wish) in 2.2 beta which is available now.

If you'd like to give it a go you can join our beta program here - be great to get your feedback.
