David in Яuislip
According to this the temporary files are written to %appdata%. Can you enter %appdata% into a file explorer window and see where it goes? Can you then go down to the Affinity area \AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0\autosave, click properties and see that it is on your L: drive which would confirm that the symlink is working Apart from that, your system has 12 GB of ram so it should not need to write temporary files at all I have just done a 7 image focus merge using tiff files 31.8 MB, 4609 x 2244 pixels each. The process took 7 seconds, nothing was written into windows/temp which I have relocated to the D drive, the autosave folder showed a file of 0 bytes. The CPU briefly hit 100% but the C disc usage didn't go above 0 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/
mrsurf
Hi guys, thanks for the help and answer. It seams that was more a windows issue than affinity. i've deactivate windows swap then reactivate it. and no more hdd to 100% maybe the swap goes corrupt some times. Ps i don't know how to mark it Resolved ?? Edited August 16, 2020 by mrsurf addendum Dan C

David in Яuislip
Try Googling personabackstore.dat , apparently it's used when the ram is full but your memory usage shows 64 - 66%. How about checking how much memory Photo is allowed, if this is too low it may explain why the program is using the disc? mrsurf 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/

It is possible, in general (Click Edit at the bottom of the first post in the thread, update the Title, Save). What was the reason? Maybe Serif should cancel this option, or give a warning about it, because it only causes complications for inexperienced users. No, at the beginning, affinity memory was up to 10G and always using the Swap. so i tried many test, desabling the windows swap, nothing. changing Affinity ram amount nothing SSD enhancement and so long, so that i forget to revert affinity Ram to it previous state.
