Hi,

Not sure if it's just me or has this changed? Usually when I export as a PNG it gives me an option to have a transparent background or not.

Today I was trying to export with a transparent background and it seems the option has been taken away.

Has anyone got any further details on this?

Affinity Designer - Yes I know the document wasn't set up with a transparent background.

There used to be an option in export to use a transparent background.

was just wondering if this feature was taken away.

Thanks for the replies and help 👌

No idea, I don't work with PNG's though I would assume it was removed from export as it needs to be done in document setup. At least you have a work around, or know how it works now!

I don't recall one. Are you sure you're thinking of Affinity Designer, and not some other application?

Could be Matte color setting?

Very good. I forgot about that.

It won't give you transparent if the document doesn't have a transparent background, but if the document does have a transparent background, you also need that set to "no matte" if you want the transparency to be maintained.

I am using Affinity Photo Version 1.8.4.693

I imported an image from the clipboard that has a white (256, 256, 256) background.

How do I export this image in either a GIF or PNG format with the white background transparent? I cannot find a transparent background selection in any of the export dialog boxes.

You have to make the background transparent first.
