Unfortunately, I have tried my best but I cannot seem to make it work, as much as I try! I wonder if it is a matter of setting or some detail.. Though, AP Help manual does not seem to mention it either:
Frozen Death Knight
The feature to draw straight horizontal and vertical lines got added in a few builds ago in the 1.7 Beta by holding down shift when drawing (at least I know it works on Windows). It works just like it does in Photoshop. Should probably put this topic to rest now. altae, 4EverMaAT and Maijuline 1

4EverMaAT
does "SHIFT to draw straight" also work for all brush tools? including clone/retouching brushes? Edited August 27, 2019 by 4EverMaAT
PaulEC
Not sure if it works with all, but certainly with most of them - why not try it? thetasig
Add me to the list of proponents. Also, this should be a high-level feature that should/could be applied to other types of tools For example, I have often run into the problem of using the Select Tool and wanting to follow a straight line to create an "edge" of the selection. Now it is very tedious and fraught with errors and problems. This would be incredibly useful for those times you need it. This would also be useful for the Clone tool - moving in a straight line when needed, etc., etc.
rgarber
Often when masking using the Selection Brush tool I need for a straight line to mask things properly, especially text. Is this feature available for the same kind of situation?
