  1. I'm sharing this template for golden ratio, original tutorial I followed was for Inkscape which I was previously using before falling in love with Affinity Designer. Original work is from Nick Saporito on youtube. Basically you use the set of "Golden Circles" to create an illustration by intersecting the different sizes of circles. Hope you guys enjoy using it for your own designs! golden-ratio.afdesign

  3. Hi there, i created a template for a magazine in DIN A5, mainly aimed at beginners. Experts change things like colorspace, bleed,.... All the images you see there are from unsplash, pexels and pixabay and also are only in 72dpi in that, so replacethem I also got a german and english version so the naming of textstyles and other things make sense for non-german speakers. Fonts necessary (both free): https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/fira-sans https://www.freefonts.io/akrobat-font-free-download/ have fun with it and tell me if you got any ideas improvements, i don´t do templates very often.:) I put the template under CC0, so yeah have fun with it. 5. Hi everyone, I make a calendar every year for my large extended family with all the birthdays and anniversaries printed on their respective dates. I started this custom several years ago, and at that time used Microsoft Publisher 2007 to whip up a calendar template for the year, and then added text boxes with all the holidays and special dates. Needless to say, that was not a very efficient way of doing things... Every year I had to manually move every single text box to the new calendar and make sure they all were more or less lined up and evenly spaced. This year I suddenly realized that I had Affinity Publisher at my disposal! So I went searching about these forums to find out a better, more automated way to publish calendars. A few posts, such as this one on calendar automation, and this one on data merges gave me some guidance in the right direction, and eventually I figured out a way to make a calendar in AfPub using the power of data merge to do the heavy lifting of inputting the dates and the power of text styles to make it all look right. Needless to say, this will save me a lot of time in the future! I'm attaching an AfPub template and a sample .csv file. Anyone is welcome to use/customize these if they would like. I'm sure there are more efficient ways of doing things that I might have missed, so I'd appreciate any constructive feedback you might have to offer! Enjoy! If you have questions about how (or why) I did something the way I did, feel free to ask! 9. Here is a very early (still working on it rev. 1) 12x12 hardcover book template designed for presto photo. It has 8 master pages and I am sure it is full of errors, but it is a start. If anyone makes interesting changes or fixes please re-upload. My next step is to add some interesting background colors and populate with images and send it to Presto Photo for a test run. I have no idea if it works or not, use at your own risk!!! I plan to create templates for other size books as well. Please be gentle, I am very new to publisher... 12x12 Photobook r1.aftemplate

  11. Please also add the possibility to create a new document (File > New) based on the clipboard size (in pixels). This is very useful to quickly annotate images or edit them from online sources. It basically removes the step to crop/ resize the image after pasting.
  12. Hello, I am in a non-profit association and have to do the flyers for our events for facebook and instagram. I am looking for templates that I can work on for latino / salsa / disco events. How and where can I find any? Which ones suit Affinity? Is there a place on Affinity where I can find nice backgrounds? Thank you for your help. Angela

  14. Hello Affinity, I created this template to allow myself to easily print my personal checks from home (in a business check format). The .zip folder includes the .txt file instructions (which you MUST read first), the .afphoto generic check, and the MICR font folder pack that I downloaded for this template (freeware). If you use the same checks that I ordered from Amazon, this template has been measured with a MICR ruler for accuracy. You must read the instructions for more details and disclaimers. You're welcome. 15. Hi all, first time on the forums. Just purchased Affinity Designer and hoping this can replace my need for Adobe Illustrator. First thing I was planning on doing was create a collection of 12 monthly calendars for 2019. I do this for my mother's business each year. I was looking around but don't seem to see anything simple which is what I am looking for. I also put some custom fields to be filled out by hand on specific calendar days. I was looking for something in this style: Is this something I will have to do manually, change days month by month, or is there a 2019 monthly template out there?
  16. Hello everyone, using Affinity Designer, is there a way to assign a list of text snippets to predefined slots? Example: I want to create a periodic table. I would probably use Symbols to design a single element cell. Then I'll duplicate and distribute the symbols ~120× to form a periodic table. Let's assume I already have a list of element names (Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium...) in a text file. Can I somehow instruct Affinity Designer to distribute these element names in order into my ~120 symbols? How would you do it? Thanks!
  17. Hi all, I've just purchased the Distress Press distressing addon for Affinity Photo and for the life of my cannot locate the "Distressing Template" that seems to be a necessary part of the effects process and as used in the True Grit tutorial video. The brushes and macros are all present. Am I missing something obvious here? Could someone who has Distress Press point me direction in this template. Thanks, Anthony
  18. I have some artwork I have had scanned at 600 DPI and it has been saved as 3 files, a TIFF, jpeg and a PDF. The original size of the piece of art was 30cm x 25cm. I would like to have it printed as a tea towel by an online print on demand site but the template for that is sized at 72cm x 44cm. I can't upload the art to the website, I have to email it at the correct size or aspect ratio. How can I adjust one of the scans in either Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo without distorting it or losing any quality so that I can send it off for printing? Or is this not possible? I am very new to the software so I'm hoping someone can help me with some step by step instructions!
  19. I created some templates in Affinity Designer destkop version and saved them in Google Drive. When I try to open them up in Affinity Designer on the iPad they are grayed out. If i go straight to the folder in Google Drive, they are not grayed out, but when I click on it, choose 'Share' and choose to open with Designer, it won't open but it will open in Photo, if I choose that. I'm not sure what the issue it. The template file is .aftemplate. So what I want to be able to do is open up Designer for the iPad, tap the + button, choose 'New From Template' and open up the template. How can I do this? thanks
  20. The introduction of Affinity Templates in the version 1.8 suite of desktop and mobile products is obviously a fine feature to add. But what are some advantages of the AFTEMPLATE compared with using AFPHOTO / AFDESIGN / AFPUB files? After all, these files are already interchangeable between applications and platforms.
  21. Please! How do I unlock the Lifestyle Magazine Poise template that comes with Affinity Publisher? Thanks!
  22. Hi guys! I was working on some social media ads for a client and created a simple template for all major social media ad sizes including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat and Reddit. This is a simple file with art boards for all your ad designs. It could come in handy next time you need to create a simple promo banner or ad for a client. Cheers! Social Media Banner Ads.afdesign
  23. Hi! Is there anyway I can save a custom page preset as a template? For example, Facebook Page Cover template, Instagram Post template, Business Cards template, etc. with different sizes for each template. I'm currently using Affinity Designer desktop. I've tried to find answers and had no luck. Did find this but it did not have the solution: Please let me know - this would be such a huge help!
  24. Hi I am trying to improve my Web Design and Build workflow and would appreciate some guidance. I have both Designer and Photo. If a client sends me a number of images/photos to be used as the featured image for a blog post, then invariably they will be all different sizes and not optimised for web when received. On the main blog page there will be for example be listing grid of blog posts, maybe three columns wide across the page, where on the top of each blog post there will be a visible section of each image and they will all be the same size so that the listing grid itself looks clean and uniformed. So just for clarity, if three images are all different sizes in their raw format, they will all be cropped/clipped to an 800 x 500 template for example. I have seen a video where someone has done this in Photoshop where they created a template 800 x 500 art-board and then one by one placed each image into it, resized the image to suit inside the template and then saved it out before repeating with the next image. What would be the best step by step process to achieve this in Photo or (preferably) Designer so that I can have my template, crop/resize the images received within the template and then save them out as web optimised images? Thank you!
