  1. I'm become crazy by a stupid simple task: How to delete something in an selection? I've selected an area (Rect selection) that i want to delete. Then i press the delete key, but it deletes the complete layer!? I've searched in the Edit- and the Selection-Menu, but nothing. Then i use the help to search for delete, and it finds just the Delete Layer command? Searching for that term in google shows me al lot of impressive tricks, but not how to delete the content inside a simple selection. So i switched to Pixelmator to do that in two seconds... - But that's insane, for such a basic function. Where did you hide the simple delete function?
  2. Hi, I'm using Publisher for few weeks only, but I'm constantly struggling with one feature. If I press [Space] + [Command] the Zoom tool (+) is temporarily used even if I'm using another tool. If I click the mouse it zooms in on the selected location. If I add [Alt] to the combination ([Space] + [Command] + [Alt]) the Zoom tool (-) appears. If I click the mouse it zooms out, but the document jumps some amount down. I was searching throughout the preferences, but did not find any related settings. If I choose the the Zoom tool directly from the tool bar, it behaves correctly both for plus and minus. Please let me know if you need any more information. Petr
  3. Hi, I updated to version 1.6.4.104 and for a reason I don't know how to reproduce, keyboard shortcuts (AD and windows ones) stop working after about a minute ONLY in Designer (not windows). 1 - I quit and relaunched AD and the problem appears again about a minute later. I sometimes press the Windows key by mistake, if that helps. 2 - I reverted to AD 1.6.2.97 and there is no problem. So I keep 1.6.2.97 (french) and will wait for further versions, hoping that this bug is known and will be solved. If someone knows more about it... Cédric. Windows 10 Home French 1709 / 16299.309, 16Go Ram, Core i5-6500, Nvidia GTX1060 driver 391.01,.
  4. Hi, This is the first time I have tried this... Has anyone experienced the affshortcuts file from Affinity Photo not being recognized on a Mac. Can't seem to get it to load. When I save the default shortcut file it fails to be recognized. I have the apple store version 1.84 of Affinity Photo. Dan AffinityShortcutDan.affshortcuts
  5. I read that the windows shortcut for brush size and hardness are holding Alt + Right Mouse Button and then dragging left/right or up/down. However this is not working for me. Am I doing something wrong?
  6. The shortcut opt+delete doesn't do the magic of inpaint, but it erase as if it's only delete. I have to go to the menu bar > edit > inpaint to get the command to work. Other common shortcuts work fine ( command S, C, X, V, etc.) I am using iMac and Wacom Intuos Pen. Anyone has the same problem?
  7. Hello, since I have updated my Affinity Suite (Designer, Photo and Publisher) to version 1.8.3 ALL default shortcuts don't work. NO CTRL+C, CTRL+V, CTRL+S .... nothing. Please assist as soon as possible. Working with Affinity Suite is currently no fun . Regards, Henning
  8. Hey Everyone from Turkey, I wanna change Zoom In shortcut. My Zoom In shortcut is ctrl+oemplus. I tried to change it but i've no any idea which button is "oemplus". I wanna change it as "alt+oemplus" Please, can you help me for that?
  9. Hi, I recently bought affinity designer and I'm still learning the shortcuts. But something I really miss from using other editors is being able to duplicate the document you're editing onto a new one. I've looked on the forums for a way to do that but I've found nothing. Is there a way to duplicate the page you're editing onto a new document instead of opening a new document and copy;pasting the contents?
  10. Hi there, Would anybody else find it useful to have a key command to hide all vector outlines & nodes (& bounding boxes too) without deselecting the item, nor changing tools? It's easier to judge your final result without the distraction of the "back-room mechanics" on top of your stroke. I remember using that kind of Hide command back in Adobe days. Just pressing Spacebar for a momentary Hand tool _almost_ does the trick. But not if you're adjusting the item's stroke or brush or layer fx properties in a dialog – then Spacebar doesn't work. So you have to judge your adjustments with the nodes & outlines obscuring your edges (with Pen or Node tool selected, at least). And if you switch to a different tool that hides outlines & bounding box, then your pen or node tool parameter ribbon goes away. All these issues would be resolved with an additional View ->View Mode: Artwork/Result Only. Thanks in advance for considering it!
  11. Hello, Would it be possible to add the option for a keyboard shortcut to toggle the brush stabiliser on and off? Thanks for your consideration!
  12. I have read a few threads, but I just want to know if it's still designed not to be able to assign different shortcut for Paint Brush Tool and Pixel Tool on Affinity Designer. Does anyone know? It just doesn't make sense to be customizable.
  13. Hi there! One Affinity photo feature that is dearly missing for me is a keyboard shortcut to increase and decrease opacity of the currently selected layer. I would need this, so I could map this shortcut to a MIDI controller and be able to quickly set a layer's opacity with said controller. Since there is an ever increasing number of people who use MIDI controllers as quick input devices for the graphic softwares, I believe I am far from the only one who would benefit from such a feature. Currently there is only the possibilty to use the up/down arrow keys (+ shift optionally) to increase and decrease the opacity once I have set the focus to the opacity field. This does not really help me all that much as I would always need to focus this field first, before i can start to change the opacity. It would be great if there could be a global shortcut for this as well, preferrably also with the possibilty to use shift optionally to increase the increments to 10. I would not care if it is an obscure shortcut or if it is even turned off by default, as soon as there is any shortcut for this MIDI users could make use of this and map it to their controllers. Thanks! trych
  14. I want to propose the possibility to assign a shortcut to the rotation feature of the Clone Stamp and the Healing Brush. So it's possible to map them on the rotation slider of a Wacom Pro Tablet. I propose also a change on the way that the rotation it's intended, because it's more useful that the rotation could have both negative and positive value. Rik
  15. Is there a way to disable the opacity shortcut when using the number keys (1-9)? I use Affinity software for digital painting and illustration, and I keep accidentally hitting '3' instead of 'E' for the eraser and changing my brush opacity to 30% by mistake. I've also assigned Cmd+1 and Cmd+2 to rotate my canvas left and right, but the same problem here - I keep accidentally changing my brush opacity in the process if I don't perfectly press Cmd together with the number key. I don't use the number keys to set opacity of my brush anyway, so I would love to disable and/or customise those shortcuts to accommodate my workflow better, but I can't seem to find those keys anywhere in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. I wouldn't recommend removing this shortcut for those who use it, but perhaps having the option to customise it would be helpful? Thanks in advance.
  16. Hi, i have problem whit brush-hardness shortcut (ctrl+options+ left mouse button) on my mac. When i push them cant change size and hardnes but move whole aplication. Thanks for any advice.
  17. Is it possible to set brush opacity + brush flow with an Affinity Photo action or with a keyboard shortcut? This enables a quicker workflow if one can just toggle between e.g. 20% opacity 20% flow and then go back to 100% opacity 100% flow without having to change it every time manually. Thank you for your advice how to do this or to take the time to add it to your feature request list. 😃
  18. The standard OSX keyboard shortcut to switch between windows in an application is ⌘> and ⌘<, respectively. In AD these shortcuts are reserved for text size increase/decrease and there is no way to change that, by the way (these “hooks” are missing in the preference panel, there is just Size > Precise Bigger/Smaller). I would like to use the standard keyboard shortcuts to switch between windows in separated mode, too. And perhaps this could be extended to tabs (in both modes), i. e. in the single window mode the shortcuts would switch between tabs and in separated mode it would switch between tabs in a single window until the last tab is active, and then it switches to the next window (or reverse in the reverse direction). How does that sound?
  19. Long-press shortcuts are super useful in other apps such as Photoshop, really help to speed up workflows, and I thought it might be a great little addition to Affinity apps too. I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about, but just for clarity: When you use a tool in PS, and press and hold a shortcut for another tool, you can temporarily use that tool until you stop pressing the shortcut. For instance, if you're using the brush tool, you can press and hold "E" to temporarily use the eraser tool, which then automatically switches back to the brush tool as soon as you stop pressing "E".
  20. Hi, I just started using Affinity Designer at work and I love it so far. One of the features that will really come in handy is to collapse all artboards with one shortcut key. I usually end up with several artboards in an Affinity Designer file and it gets pretty annoying to navigate through layers on top of layers. So please add this feature to the next rollout of the app. Thanks!
  21. I would like to suggest to the programming team of (not only!) afpub/seriflabs to convoke a dedicated team to have a fundamental view on the shortcut system. I'm in typesetting, typography and graphics since about 25 years, and I use to use shortcuts as often as I can. I've seen coming and going Quark, InDesign and much more. And I do not demand, that shortscuts should be always the same (that's impossible). But it would be very very useful, if there are shortcuts applied to functions from the most important one/most used menu points down to the more "apocrythal" menue items... I just finished very successfully my first greater piece of design with afpub, an artist's catalogue with 148 pages. I'm enthusiast about afpub! It's a real great piece of software. But there have been a lot of routine tasks, where I missed a shortcut. (e.g. certain spaces in typography, jump to page ..., in text: continue in next column/frame/page and much more). Everyone here in forum will demand it's own "important shortcuts". There will be a mess (and I think, there *is* already a mess if we open a public discussion or poll. Therefore there should be a dedicated team, focused on the shortcut-system in afpub (and certain shortcuts over all three personas). Even if I would have to learn the shortcuts in new in a future version of afpub. That doesn't matter. But "lots of shortscuts are better than missing a shortcut for often used actions". 22. Hi there, I just finished my first illustration on Affinity Photo, and I can finally think I've found a good alternative to Adobe's softwares Especially one where I can recreate some of my long term habits from Adobe and remain efficient. The only problem I encounter is that I'm really, really used to control the size of my tools with the 2 and 3 key on the top left of the pad (so, rather the é and "). I find it to be the most comfortable for me as my left hand is always around there on the keypad while I'm drawing (oh look, there's also the ctrl and z keys nearby ). Well, so, it was quite disturbing that these num keys, by default, control the tool opacity and you can't change it at all. For now I've combined them with "alt" to control the brush/eraser size but (when I don't forget to press alt) it sometimes creates a conflict with the color picker shortcut (and I'm also used to constantly pick colors with alt). I don't know if I'm the only one wo needs to customize these keys but it would be really great if we could. Thank you and keep up the good work Serif !
  23. It would be possible to add a shortcut to change the size, opacity or hardness of the tools more quickly, as can be done in photoshop, that by pressing high and normal click you can vary the size and hardness of the brush, in general for all tools.
  24. Hi devs and fellow affinity users! I am someone who loves using design aids in my workflow but having to constantly turn them all off one by one just to see how my design looks can be very time consuming (and sometimes confusing when using shortcuts for each one). The feature i'm requesting is basically being able to show/hide all the design aids ALTOGETHER such as but not necessarily limited to: bleeds, margins, guides, grids, column guides, etc. Instead of having a separate option for this which I think is unnecessary, I think this could be a useful upgrade for the "Clip to Canvas" option AND to have all contents on the bleed be clipped too since they're not really part of the final design (at least in my case). What do you guys think? I'd be happy to have a conversation with anyone! (I've tried to search if there's a post related to this but it seems like there isn't, and if this feature already exists please do let me know.)
  25. When working in the Layers panel, I would love to be able to use the keyboard for certain operations like moving up and down in the layer tree with arrow key selecting layers by typing their names renaming a layer by hitting F2 moving layers up and down by hitting Ctrl+Up / Ctrl+Down (or Alt, maybe in combination with Shift) selecting layers by holding down the Shift key and using the arrow keys afterwards There might be more useful appliances for keyboard shortcuts.
