Assigning Select Sampled Color to a shortcut and attempting to use it causes a crash every time. Crash happened in last 1.8 version and persists in 1.9. Tested on 2 different computers: Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, Windows 10 Ryzen 7 3750H, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, Windows 10

Hi there! One Affinity photo feature that is dearly missing for me is a keyboard shortcut to increase and decrease opacity of the currently selected layer. I would need this, so I could map this shortcut to a MIDI controller and be able to quickly set a layer's opacity with said controller. Since there is an ever increasing number of people who use MIDI controllers as quick input devices for the graphic softwares, I believe I am far from the only one who would benefit from such a feature. Currently there is only the possibilty to use the up/down arrow keys (+ shift optionally) to increase and decrease the opacity once I have set the focus to the opacity field. This does not really help me all that much as I would always need to focus this field first, before i can start to change the opacity. It would be great if there could be a global shortcut for this as well, preferrably also with the possibilty to use shift optionally to increase the increments to 10. I would not care if it is an obscure shortcut or if it is even turned off by default, as soon as there is any shortcut for this MIDI users could make use of this and map it to their controllers. Thanks! trych

What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? macOS Big Sur 11.1 Affinity Designer 1.8.6 (trial version) What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) I want to remove "B" as a shortcut for the Pixel Tool, so it doesn't swap to Paint Brush Tool if I accidentally hit B twice. Every time I open the Designer, Pixel Tool has its shortcut set to "B". Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). remove the shortcut "B" for Pixel Tool. close Affinity Designer. open Affinity Designer again. Pixel Tool has its shortcut set to "B" again. also tried: Saving the shortcuts as a ".affshortcuts" file. Closing Affinity Designer. Going to "~/Library/ApplicationSupport/Affinity Designer" Replacing the "shortcuts.affshortcuts" file with mine. Opening Affinity Designer. The Pixel Tool is set to "B" again (it seems it's always reset to "B"?) Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. Second monitor ASUS, using HDMI cable Wacom Intuos tablet Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) No

I've been avoiding updating from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4 for some time due to this issue. Recently I went straight to 1.8.5 [latest version] to see if it would be fixed, but it wasn't. It's probably not even considered a bug, but I'd like to understand if this was an intended change. What's happening: I've always been able to resize my brushes using Alt + LClick + RClick [and drag] until version 1.8.3. From 1.8.4 on, this command only activates the Color Picker, which is also activated by Alt + LClick, so it's just redundant. If I want to resize my brushes in 1.8.4+, the command is Ctrl + Alt + LClick + RClick, and the weirdest thing is that the brush/cursor simply disappears after releasing the drag in the desired size, which didn't happen before. I don't know if this command change was intended, but I see no reason to have 4 buttons for such a shortcut. Also, considering the fact that it disappears after release, looks like something's wrong. Any thoughts on this, please? P.S: I know there are other ways to resize a brush like [ ], so save yourself some time before suggesting this. Thanks!

I'm become crazy by a stupid simple task: How to delete something in an selection? I've selected an area (Rect selection) that i want to delete. Then i press the delete key, but it deletes the complete layer!? I've searched in the Edit- and the Selection-Menu, but nothing. Then i use the help to search for delete, and it finds just the Delete Layer command? Searching for that term in google shows me al lot of impressive tricks, but not how to delete the content inside a simple selection. So i switched to Pixelmator to do that in two seconds... - But that's insane, for such a basic function. Where did you hide the simple delete function?

Hi, I updated to version 1.6.4.104 and for a reason I don't know how to reproduce, keyboard shortcuts (AD and windows ones) stop working after about a minute ONLY in Designer (not windows). 1 - I quit and relaunched AD and the problem appears again about a minute later. I sometimes press the Windows key by mistake, if that helps. 2 - I reverted to AD 1.6.2.97 and there is no problem. So I keep 1.6.2.97 (french) and will wait for further versions, hoping that this bug is known and will be solved. If someone knows more about it... Cédric. As many contributors requested, I´m missing a very important shortcut: hitting ESC to release the texttool and have the movetool Its not only to move the box, its because I I must often select a few objects after typing, or to change colors of objects and so on. That is why it is a hindrance that the tool does not switch to the move-tool. Its very easy to locate the ESC-Button and hit it (twice). Its not so easy to search "v" and hit it without an acident. Its a most-requested feature, so please have a look at it (some examples, more in the forum). Thank you!

Hi, I just started using Affinity Designer at work and I love it so far. One of the features that will really come in handy is to collapse all artboards with one shortcut key. I usually end up with several artboards in an Affinity Designer file and it gets pretty annoying to navigate through layers on top of layers. So please add this feature to the next rollout of the app. Thanks!

Hi, I'm using Publisher for few weeks only, but I'm constantly struggling with one feature. If I press [Space] + [Command] the Zoom tool (+) is temporarily used even if I'm using another tool. If I click the mouse it zooms in on the selected location. If I add [Alt] to the combination ([Space] + [Command] + [Alt]) the Zoom tool (-) appears. If I click the mouse it zooms out, but the document jumps some amount down. I was searching throughout the preferences, but did not find any related settings. If I choose the the Zoom tool directly from the tool bar, it behaves correctly both for plus and minus. Please let me know if you need any more information. Petr

Hi, I recently bought affinity designer and I'm still learning the shortcuts. But something I really miss from using other editors is being able to duplicate the document you're editing onto a new one. I've looked on the forums for a way to do that but I've found nothing. Is there a way to duplicate the page you're editing onto a new document instead of opening a new document and copy;pasting the contents?

Hi there, Would anybody else find it useful to have a key command to hide all vector outlines & nodes (& bounding boxes too) without deselecting the item, nor changing tools? It's easier to judge your final result without the distraction of the "back-room mechanics" on top of your stroke. I remember using that kind of Hide command back in Adobe days. Just pressing Spacebar for a momentary Hand tool _almost_ does the trick. But not if you're adjusting the item's stroke or brush or layer fx properties in a dialog – then Spacebar doesn't work. So you have to judge your adjustments with the nodes & outlines obscuring your edges (with Pen or Node tool selected, at least). And if you switch to a different tool that hides outlines & bounding box, then your pen or node tool parameter ribbon goes away. All these issues would be resolved with an additional View ->View Mode: Artwork/Result Only. Thanks in advance for considering it!

I have read a few threads, but I just want to know if it's still designed not to be able to assign different shortcut for Paint Brush Tool and Pixel Tool on Affinity Designer. Does anyone know? It just doesn't make sense to be customizable.

I want to propose the possibility to assign a shortcut to the rotation feature of the Clone Stamp and the Healing Brush. So it's possible to map them on the rotation slider of a Wacom Pro Tablet. I propose also a change on the way that the rotation it's intended, because it's more useful that the rotation could have both negative and positive value. Rik

Is there a way to disable the opacity shortcut when using the number keys (1-9)? I use Affinity software for digital painting and illustration, and I keep accidentally hitting '3' instead of 'E' for the eraser and changing my brush opacity to 30% by mistake. I've also assigned Cmd+1 and Cmd+2 to rotate my canvas left and right, but the same problem here - I keep accidentally changing my brush opacity in the process if I don't perfectly press Cmd together with the number key. I don't use the number keys to set opacity of my brush anyway, so I would love to disable and/or customise those shortcuts to accommodate my workflow better, but I can't seem to find those keys anywhere in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. I wouldn't recommend removing this shortcut for those who use it, but perhaps having the option to customise it would be helpful? Thanks in advance.
