  1. Hello everyone! This is another feature request. I'd like to request a feature that lets users of Designer and Photo use tools in a straight way when holding shift. For example, when I want to draw a straight line, holding down shift should draw a line between starting point and current cursor location. This behaviour should be added to other tools as well. If I want to use the "Smudge Brush Tool" or the "Inpainting Brush Tool" in a straight way, there is currently no way of doing so that I'm aware of. Adding shift + alt for snapping to multiples of 45° between starting point and current cursor location could be very useful as well. Also, I do know about left clicking using the "Paint Brush Tool", then holding shift and clicking at the end point to get a straight line. But this behaviour is limited to that tool and you don't get a live preview of the line or snapping to multiples of 90° or 45°. The "Free hand Selection Tool" includes a similar feature to the one that I just requested. The difference is that the existing feature doesn't use the cursor location when left mouse clicking for its starting point, but rather the cursor location when starting to hold shift. This does make sense for that specific tool, but I think other tools would benefit from a set starting point at the time when mouse left is clicked. And that existing feature doesn't seem to have any snapping options either, which could be useful sometimes. Best wishes, Shu
  2. I'm become crazy by a stupid simple task: How to delete something in an selection? I've selected an area (Rect selection) that i want to delete. Then i press the delete key, but it deletes the complete layer!? I've searched in the Edit- and the Selection-Menu, but nothing. Then i use the help to search for delete, and it finds just the Delete Layer command? Searching for that term in google shows me al lot of impressive tricks, but not how to delete the content inside a simple selection. So i switched to Pixelmator to do that in two seconds... - But that's insane, for such a basic function. Where did you hide the simple delete function?
  3. When quitting the app without saving first, a window pops up: If I want to quit without saving, if the interface language is set to English, I can press ⌘ + ⌫. It’s a systemwide convention. If I change the language to German, however, this shortcut doesn’t work.
  4. Hi, I updated to version 1.6.4.104 and for a reason I don't know how to reproduce, keyboard shortcuts (AD and windows ones) stop working after about a minute ONLY in Designer (not windows). 1 - I quit and relaunched AD and the problem appears again about a minute later. I sometimes press the Windows key by mistake, if that helps. 2 - I reverted to AD 1.6.2.97 and there is no problem. So I keep 1.6.2.97 (french) and will wait for further versions, hoping that this bug is known and will be solved. If someone knows more about it... Cédric. Photoshop Shortcuts / share

Hello! I'm a pro user of Photoshop since Version 2.0 and I'm very new to affinity. I bought afinity photo to use it for my private artistic work, as Adobe's price policy doesen't fit for private persons and 'poor' artists. I've to say, I love the app for it's price-performance ratio!!!!!!!!!!! Due to the heavy every day usage of the Photoshop in my bread and butter job, the shortcuts are running in my blood. Did somebody take the effort to 'clear' all the affinity shortcuts and apply all the Photoshop shortcuts? If so, would you share it with me? Best, Tom
  6. Would be extremely useful to be able to set just a key shortcut (e.g. F1, F2, B, N, M, etc.) for viewing only a specific layer. Why would users need this? It would be extremely useful when tracing images so we can go back and forth between the source/reference image and what we are illustrating/vectorizing. It can be useful for users that draw after reference photos, so they need to see the reference photo instantly and go back to drawing. Why only one shortcut? / You can't just go and put the reference layer as the top layer and hide (uncheck) and show (check) whenever you want? It would be faster and more handy to have a simple one key shortcut like B or F3 that we can press to view the reference. If we don't press that shortcut anymore, it should go back (hide the reference photo/layer). Here's how it could work: So when the person presses the F3 key, it could show the reference layer. Could be also used for Before/After viewing of a design/illustration/painting/image/etc. What's your opinion on this? It should be implemented?
  7. From yesterday I am noticing a mysterious shortcut on Affinity Photo! If I press G+G it blurs the current layer and opens the Gaussian Blur dialog. I am not able to find where it's coming from as there is no such shortcut assigned to Gaussian Blur filter. And once it's used, pressing G once opens the Gaussian Blur dialog instead of fill! If this is an intended feature, could anyone please demystify it?
  8. Hello everyone! I've got some suggestions for improving the selection tools: 1: Could you add a shortcut to the tools that lets the user add to selection when holding shift? 2: Could you add a shortcut to the tools that lets the user subtract from the selection when holding alt? 3: Currently, when I select Mode -> Add, I can only add to selection if I am starting the loop outside of the current selection. It seems there is no way to start a loop inside the selection, because if I try to do so, I actually move the selection. This behaviour could be accessed with M (Rectangular Marquee Tool), though. Being able to start a loop inside the current selection is just easier sometimes. 4: Could you include the selection menu (from the menu bar) in the selection tools so that it is being displayed at cursor location when right clicking? 5: I guess this is a bug, but I am adding this here as it's about the same tool: Clicking L to select the Free Hand Selection Tool will not show a different cursor initially. The cursor will only be displayed after using the tool. Best wishes, Shu

    Gradient tool shortcut persists

Even though I have removed the shortcut "G" from the Gradient tool and assigned it to the Fill tool, I always get the Gradient tool when pressing "G". I then have to press "G" a second time to get the Fill tool. "G" is not assigned to anything else when I look through the shortcuts. I have tried removing Affinity Photo and the .plist file found in Preferences without success. There may be other shortcuts that would cause trouble, but I have not reassigned other tools.
  11. Hi, I currently work on a few project where I have to rotate the canvas a lot. It works fine with the 15° rotation in APh, using a custom keyboard shortcut. I use a wheel-mouse for my work and I'm someone who try to keep the right hand on the mouse for efficient workflow as long as possible. So my question now, is it possible to add a custom shortcut like Alt + Mouse Wheel for rotation? Or should I move this to the Feature Request section ? Thanks!
  12. Apologies if this has come up before but Affinity's Twitter support suggested I post this here; Essentially I'm proposing a customisable palette/window/whatever that docks left or right that you can populate with whatever shortcut keys you find most productive. Big hit-friendly keys for your non-drawing hand, to quickly switch tools, hold 'shift' etc. I have previously used Wacom devices which obviously have actual keys, and also TabletPro on a Surface which is a Windows standalone sort of version of this (see attached image). I just think it would be very useful for those (like me) looking to increase productivity.
  13. Could we please have a keypress to select the parent of the currently selected object? This would allow for fast navigation within the Layers tree and adds a fine grained version of the Select All command, progressively expanding the current selection from a single object, up through the current group, layer, artboard, and document. Thanks for your consideration.
  14. Hello, could be extremely usefull (and near mandatory to work fluently) to have a shortcut to quickly modify brush flow, or to change pixel brushs maybe. scenario: im drawing, im using a lot the finger tool, and sometimes there is small details i need to work with, that need a lot of flow, and other times i just want to melt a bit the colors, so i need a lot less. and i got to change a lot and a lot for my workflow, so having it at top left corner makes it a hell to use. go in the top left corner, modify, test if its ok, if its nto go back with mouse in top left corner... you get crazy in 5 minutes.
  15. Could we perhaps get a customizable keybind for this feature? Would be lovely as I think it may be used more than the snapping bind, for me at least. Thank you!
  16. When working in the Layers panel, I would love to be able to use the keyboard for certain operations like moving up and down in the layer tree with arrow key selecting layers by typing their names renaming a layer by hitting F2 moving layers up and down by hitting Ctrl+Up / Ctrl+Down (or Alt, maybe in combination with Shift) selecting layers by holding down the Shift key and using the arrow keys afterwards There might be more useful appliances for keyboard shortcuts.
  17. Hi Everyone, i'm not sure if it's a bug, but i use "insert filler text" a lot, so i decided to give it a shortcut. Usualy when i use the text menu i get classic "Lorem ipsum", but since i have created a shortcut i have what seems to me pieces of "Alice in wonderland". Is that known? Looks like an easter egg of some sort. Haven't found options to set it to "Lorem ipsum". Any idea? Thx ! Ben
  18. Hi guys, Is there a keyboard shortcut for vector masking? For example, for clipping, you can Ctrl+X, Ctrl+Alt+V, and layer clipping is done. Is there such thing for masking? I couldn't find anything in the help file, or the preferences. THank you

    Shortcut duplicate

I downloaded Photo via Mac Appstore. The default shortcut for duplicating a level was set to cmd+shift+s (the same as "safe under"). I tried to change it in the settings menu to cmd+J but nothing happend., even after restarting the programm. Tried saving the shortcuts and load them again, but the saved .affshortcuts-file could not be opened in affinity. So the shortcut is still the old one. Is there a bug or any idea how I could solve this. As it would be helpful, as in any tutorial I see where duplication is used, it is used with cmd+J.
  20. I'm using Affinity Photo 1.6.6 on a MacBook Pro with the built-in German Keyboard on High Sierra. The keyboard shortcut for "duplicate layer" is (for some weird reason) set to "cmd+alt+shift D" and I'm not able to set it back to the default "Cmd+J". Even when I click on "reset" in the shortcut settings for "Layer", the shortcut remains "cmd+alt+shift D". I'm able to modify other shortcuts, like "increase/decrease brush size" without problem. Setting "Duplicate layer" to "Cmd+J", switching to (e.g.) "brush size" and back again, I have "cmd+alt+shift D" as shortcut for duplicate layer again. I tried starting AP with Cmd pressed (as per a suggestion in the forum), but that didn't open any "Reset" dialog. Any ideas on this one? Christian
  21. Hello, Would it be possible to add the option for a keyboard shortcut to toggle the brush stabiliser on and off? Thanks for your consideration!

    Keyboard shortcut to feather

The keyboard shortcut to feather, shift-F6, is not working for me. Anyone else?
  23. There is no direct keyboard shortcut to the in-painting tool; it takes several presses of the J key to get there. Perhaps Serif would make the in-painting tool the default for the J key, if others agree.
  24. Hi, is there a Shortcut like "alt" + "SPACE" for active zoom in/out like in photoshop for Affinity Photo?
  25. Hi, Wondering if I can assign a keyboard shortcut on "Mask to Below" in the layer menu. Or can I assign shortcuts for the items in the layer menu? Thanks! CY
