  1. I'm become crazy by a stupid simple task: How to delete something in an selection? I've selected an area (Rect selection) that i want to delete. Then i press the delete key, but it deletes the complete layer!? I've searched in the Edit- and the Selection-Menu, but nothing. Then i use the help to search for delete, and it finds just the Delete Layer command? Searching for that term in google shows me al lot of impressive tricks, but not how to delete the content inside a simple selection. So i switched to Pixelmator to do that in two seconds... - But that's insane, for such a basic function. Where did you hide the simple delete function?
  2. It would be faster to access the STUDIO list of palettes if STUDIO was on the menu, perhaps between "View" and "Window". No doubt it is a major programming shuffle but accessing STUDIO is done frequently and one click is faster than two. Giving STUDIO a CTRL+? or ALT/CMD+? shortcut would help, too. And/or, make an icon for STUDIO so we can put it on the Toolbar if not on the menu. TKS.
  3. Hi, I’m pretty sure I’m missing something obvious, but how do you exit the text editing mode without having to switch tools in Affinity Designer ? In Photoshop cmd + return will do this, but in AD it converts the text to curves (witch leads to numerous errors on my part. So much that I now have changed the shortcut). If there is a way I would love to hear about it otherwise, I would love to see this added.
  4. Hello there, shortcuts for tools have a bit annoying functions (atleast for me). First one is when you press a shortcut more than one time it cycles through other "modes" of that tool (this I solved with rebinding a keymap). Second one is when you press shortcut more than one time and you previously pressed another tool then it switches you back to that previous tool. Now this second one I wasn't able to solve and it is disturbing my workflow. Is there a way to turn it off somehow? Thank you, T.
  5. Hi, I just started using Affinity Designer at work and I love it so far. One of the features that will really come in handy is to collapse all artboards with one shortcut key. I usually end up with several artboards in an Affinity Designer file and it gets pretty annoying to navigate through layers on top of layers. So please add this feature to the next rollout of the app. Thanks!
  6. Hello, What happened to the feature on Ipad that color picker appears when I press the pen 2sec on the screen? It was really useful in my workflow for blending colours... How can I pick/blend colors in the easiest and most efficient way now? Thanks, N.
  7. Mac standard keyboard shortcut for moving the cursor to the end of the line is cmd+right arrow; moving to end of word is alt+right arrow. In APub, cmd+right arrow gives end of word, alt+right arrow does nothing. Is this deliberate, or a bug? I find it really confusing, as it's a shortcut I've got used to, and use quite often.
  8. Hey, i was creating basic dodge and burn macro for myself but started thinking that is there way to set shortcut key for macros? Would be awesome.
  9. Hi, Is there any way to show and hide layers quickly by using shortcut? It would be very useful for both Photo and Designer but I am not able to find how to add shortcut for it. Also, a shortcut for showing all layer is also essential. I found another thread on this forum on this topic but it's a work around and not very efficient IMHO. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/42112-hideshow-layers-quickly/
  10. It would be nice to have a shortcut for quickly open the resource manager, without going in the menu. I feel that need because when I have the Resource Manager open all the document suddenly becomes slow, especially moving images and frames (I do not understand if this is a problem of the resources of my computer or an application bug), so I keep it open only when I haeve to chek the images parametres. By the way, great app! Can't wait to use the final stable product!
  11. Some of the most frequently used edit commands are not available from the toolbar. E.g., the Edit > Undo and Edit > Redo functions would be productively convenient.
  12. Hello guys! You know that in PS we are using Ctrl / Alt + Space bur to control Zoom in or out. Do you've any keyboard shortcut there in Affinity to control Zoom tool? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi there, Would anybody else find it useful to have a key command to hide all vector outlines & nodes (& bounding boxes too) without deselecting the item, nor changing tools? It's easier to judge your final result without the distraction of the "back-room mechanics" on top of your stroke. I remember using that kind of Hide command back in Adobe days. Just pressing Spacebar for a momentary Hand tool _almost_ does the trick. But not if you're adjusting the item's stroke or brush or layer fx properties in a dialog – then Spacebar doesn't work. So you have to judge your adjustments with the nodes & outlines obscuring your edges (with Pen or Node tool selected, at least). And if you switch to a different tool that hides outlines & bounding box, then your pen or node tool parameter ribbon goes away. All these issues would be resolved with an additional View ->View Mode: Artwork/Result Only. Thanks in advance for considering it!
  14. The specified shortcut of shift + return is inserting a new line, not a line break. Inserting from the "Text" menu is working correctly however.
  15. Please can you add a Shortcut for Text Horizontal Scale, need this often for manual paragraph fine-tuning.
  16. Hi there, maybe I'm just blind, but I'm missing shortcut to jump to the next or previous brush in the brushes studio (suggestion: , and .). I'm also missing simple keyboard shortcuts for decreasing and increasing the brush hardness like the shortcuts [ and ] for the brush size. My suggestion would be Shift+[ and Shift+]. Greetz, Tekl
  17. I changed the following keyboard shortcuts: pan tool (View Tool) from V to Alt+X Move Tool from Z to Alt+Z ...and why don't you name these tools: Pan Tool and Arrow Tool? But in the Toolbar the old labels are shown
  18. Hi, I updated to version 1.6.4.104 and for a reason I don't know how to reproduce, keyboard shortcuts (AD and windows ones) stop working after about a minute ONLY in Designer (not windows). 1 - I quit and relaunched AD and the problem appears again about a minute later. I sometimes press the Windows key by mistake, if that helps. 2 - I reverted to AD 1.6.2.97 and there is no problem. So I keep 1.6.2.97 (french) and will wait for further versions, hoping that this bug is known and will be solved. If someone knows more about it... Cédric. Windows 10 Home French 1709 / 16299.309, 16Go Ram, Core i5-6500, Nvidia GTX1060 driver 391.01,.
  19. Hi, I was Inkscape user. I used to create shortcut for DELETE action to "D" key because while working I wanted my right hand only focus on my mouse and pressing Delete key using my left hand felt so efficient. Mac version has option to map DELETE action but you can't find it in Windows version. I am using Windows 10. Here's all what showed up in my AD's shortcut menu under Draw -> Edit category I hope Serif will make shortcut options in Windows version the same as in Mac version
  20. Hi, I was Inkscape user. I used to create shortcut for DELETE action to "D" key because while working I wanted my right hand only focus on my mouse and pressing Delete key using my left hand felt so efficient. Is it possible to create shortcut for DELETE action in AD? I have searched for DELETE action to be replaced in AD's shortcut menu but I didn't find it. Maybe I missed it or is it impossible? Thanks for your answer
  21. I have been trying Publisher Beta since it came out - and absolutely loving it - congrats to the Affinity Team for such a great job! Can't wait to buy it. I just wanted to check if there is a preview/presentation mode in Publisher that hides all tools, toolbars and guides and makes a single/facing page visible - and you can quickly go through the pages using some shortcut. In some other popular software such presentation mode is available. In case such feature is not there yet in Publisher, adding it would be really handy not only in Publisher but also in Designer.
  22. I really miss a shortcut command to place images or other files. Cheers Andreas
  23. Hello Friends, been learning the basics of Adobe Photoshop CS6, recently switched to AP. When I tried to work with the brush, found out that I can't adjust the size and hardness of the point. The same with other tools that work with alt + shortcuts. So I went to the adjustments and to the shortcuts, where I chose "brush", but there were no shortcuts(such as alt+sth.) displayed. Just this bracket ] . I tried to fill it manually, which did'nt work. Finally, I set it back to default. No reaction. Now my question to you, guys: Is it something that has to do with the program itself or with the adjustments of my computer? Maybe a hint: when I use alt in AP it selects always the file button in the menue... Hope you can help me and I am going to laugh about this little issue soon :-)
  24. When working in the Layers panel, I would love to be able to use the keyboard for certain operations like moving up and down in the layer tree with arrow key selecting layers by typing their names renaming a layer by hitting F2 moving layers up and down by hitting Ctrl+Up / Ctrl+Down (or Alt, maybe in combination with Shift) selecting layers by holding down the Shift key and using the arrow keys afterwards There might be more useful appliances for keyboard shortcuts.
  25. Hello everyone! This is another feature request. I'd like to request a feature that lets users of Designer and Photo use tools in a straight way when holding shift. For example, when I want to draw a straight line, holding down shift should draw a line between starting point and current cursor location. This behaviour should be added to other tools as well. If I want to use the "Smudge Brush Tool" or the "Inpainting Brush Tool" in a straight way, there is currently no way of doing so that I'm aware of. Adding shift + alt for snapping to multiples of 45° between starting point and current cursor location could be very useful as well. Also, I do know about left clicking using the "Paint Brush Tool", then holding shift and clicking at the end point to get a straight line. But this behaviour is limited to that tool and you don't get a live preview of the line or snapping to multiples of 90° or 45°. The "Free hand Selection Tool" includes a similar feature to the one that I just requested. The difference is that the existing feature doesn't use the cursor location when left mouse clicking for its starting point, but rather the cursor location when starting to hold shift. This does make sense for that specific tool, but I think other tools would benefit from a set starting point at the time when mouse left is clicked. And that existing feature doesn't seem to have any snapping options either, which could be useful sometimes. Best wishes, Shu
