Anyone an idea how to select "Develop" and "Cancel" in the "Develop Persona" of the latest Beta? Cheers, Timo

I searched the forum and there was no thread about it. I think it would be very helpful to have HSL in the develop mode, just before affinity photo compressed the RAW file to jpg only. I think this should be a standard feature. :)

I've always wanted to do timelapses and I've done quite a few before - but in all of them I've shot in jpeg and without any editing I'm preparing to do a night timelapse of stars at one of our national parks Most guides on the internet recommend shooting in RAW so that I can get the best look from the stars and night sky But as users of Affinity Photo know - there's no way to do batch edits on RAW files using Affinity photo So can I get a good timelapse if I shoot in JPEG? Or should I shoot in RAW and spend days in editing the RAW files? (3 minutes per photo, 600 photos - that's 30 hours of total editing time) Any advice?

Most of the RAW photos I'm editing in develop persona don't need any further changes hence I just want to export them to JPEG However, I have to separately develop them and then export them instead of having an option of straight to export to JPEG Does an export direct to JPEG exist in develop persona? If not, can it be added? Thank you

For me this is a "must be" feature for Affinity Photo. When I have for example 1000 raw's to develop one by one this app is unusable now I need to use another programs. I am sure that most of Affinity Photo users will want this feature badly.

Version 1.5.0.39 When I do the following open a RAW file change some basic settings in the "Develop" persona apply changes by clicking "Develop" save the file as "afphoto" file end the session start a new session open the previously saved "afphoto" file change to the "Develop" persona then all sliders show "0%"?! I attached two screen shots. The first shows the settings that I've made in the "Develop" persona, the second shows the positions of the sliders after re-opening the file. Well, the photo itself shows my changes, but I cannot see, what I did in the last development session...

Hi ! I think it might be interesting to be able to change de name of the brush overlay (All them are named as brush overlay). When we manage many, rename them give us a reference of the area in the picture. Many thanks !

Is it possible to see multiple images, in a thumbnail format within the develop mode? Very challenging just seeing one image at time, or am I missing something?

Other than exhibiting a preview for DNG raw files, when opening a file for processing, there is no preview picture displayed in AP dialog. I have tested PEF (Pentax), and RAF (Fuji) files. I also checked and found my cameras shown on the camera list posted on the Affinity site. My question is basically if this is a temporary situation, or a problem with my AP installation. Given that when trying to load a RAW image, I have time to pour a cup of coffee, before it renders, I am hoping that some attention to this situation is being addressed by the developers. This software seems to be on the cusp of being more than superior. Any one experiencing the above? (couldn't locate this subject on the forum)

This may be an odd question coming from someone who has been active in digital photography since 1997, but can someone please explain what the difference is, and why it is necessary/desirable, to first manipulate a RAW image in the Develop persona, when it can be placed directly into the Photo persona and manipulated there in what appear to be many of the exact same ways? Thanks!

Can some kind person point me towards a video/article that explains what happens during a 'developing' while in raw? I cannot understand why I spend time developing a NEF raw file using Blackpoint, Brightness, Contrast, White Balance etc., press "Develop" to move into the Photo Persona, and find myself faced with roughly the same set of tools! Not only that, but Affinity allows me to jump between Develop Persona and Photo Persona, to do... what? Surely White Balance is- White Balance, no? Another thing that I find confusing is the word (modified) after developing my NEF file and moving to Photo Persona. Is it still a NEF file? But I thought that a NEF is raw...? I realize that some folks find these sort of questions strange- since basically all you need to do is wade in and play around with the controls until you get the idea, but personally I need a logical flow to the work I'm doing and so far I've been missing something.

Hi, Should I be able to save snapshots in the Develop Persona? Although the panel is present clicking the snapshot icon has no effect.

I open a RAW file in AP, adjust it, select the Photo persona and am told I need to "commit" or cancel if I want to switch to another persona - there's a Develop button but no Commit button, so now I'm confused. This was mentioned over a year ago in the Mac beta forum so I assume people have decided there's a good reason for not changing the wording, but what is it? Searching the help file for commit shows that it's mentioned under "Developing a RAW image" but it isn't - the word doesn't appear. The help file includes the line "On the context toolbar, select Develop" - perhaps it could read something like "Commit the adjustments by selecting Develop on the context toolbar".

Hi, I've just bought Affinity Photo after Pixelmator kept mangling my images, AP works absolutely fine with JPG images and I can set up some really nice noise reduction in RAW but this NR then seems to completely disappear as soon as click 'develop' and wait for the blue bar to disappear. So at the moment I'm getting nicer processing by using my JPG images than with RAW (I shoot RAW+JPG on a Sony SLT-A58) which can't be right :). Any ideas? Is it a bug? I've uploaded 3 screenshots to demonstrate the problem. Thanks for any help, Dan

Hi, In the develop persona there is a tool called overlay gradient tool. Does this tool not exist in photo persona? The reason I am asking is because some of my scans are in monochrome (no RGB), and the develop persona is not able to handle none RGB files. Which reminds me... is it possible to converse color profiles? Cheers Peter

Hi; I'm having trouble with the develop persona. All the options work correctly except the noise reduction one; I'm able to use it, make the changes properly to the image, but when I hit the develop button those changes are lost. It only happens with noise reduction, any other setting I use works fine and remains after develop. Did anyone encounter something similar? Thanks; Val

Hello! I'm using the affinity 10 day trial to see if I like it and it's been great, until now. I open up my NEF file and make some edits in the RAW editor. I shot in a high ISO, so I was mainly editing out the noise. It looks great in the RAW editor, but once I click "Develop" it looks super noises/grainy and is even worse than before! Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

I just bought Affinity Photo, and I was eager to test it out with a RAW image, but I had terrible results with my RAW image, and the JPEG version done by the camera was much superior to mine attempts. I've watched the tutorial video, but obviously I need a lot more help with this. How does a person improve at this with a challenging image. For some reason I can't get the exposure and the colors to look anything close to acceptable... sadly.

I'm using AP with RAW files from Canon & Nikon. Exposure correction range is limited to either -2 or +2 stops only. Forum user MBd offered a work-around but it would be great to have a range like -5 or -6 to +5 or +6 stops like Lightroom or Capture One offer. This would simplify my life a lot.

Noticed its not possible to name the brush or gradient overlays when added. Would be good to know what overlay is doing what on the images.
