Hi all, my name is Gregory and i'm a designer and illustrator (and a some other -er and -or :). I really like AD a lot, i'm using it for all my stuff from web design to doodling, so i'd like to share this small image i did back in May — its a kind of character, i doodle them a lot. Hello Everyone, Nice to see an active forum. I really love the work posted by the artist, nice designs. Yesterday I bought Affinity Designer. It's a cool software. First impression, I like it. Peaceful and neat UI. Good job. I really to see more tutorials and modular documentation for using the tool. Currently, you have good tutorials. But like to see Serif initiative to give design tutorial from scratch that give more confident to the new users I think. It's just a suggestion. My first work in Affinity Designer. In my search for alternatives to Adobe's Creative Clouds (without monthly payments subscriptions) is Affinity Designer the tool for me to replace Illustrator. The only thing I miss in Affinity Designer, is better print and export opportunities with crop marks and bleed options.

Original logo sent to me by my client. My clients agency did the original logo design in illustrator. Logo look was reworked by me in Affinity AD, but Staying close to what the original design was intended to communicate. 10 second outro animation created in Apple Motion I will post the actually 10 second outro animation when I finally approved. I just wanted those of you who may wonder if you can create assets in AD to be exported and animated in other products. This was a question I received in a post on youtube. UPDATE: Here is the final 10s animation -
Hey guys, I've been working on a web project and was trying to use the transparency tool to feather a raster layer masked within a containing box, and I've made a few repeat attempts and it seems clicking and dragging with the transparency tool is crashing it every time. :/ 061015-Affinity-transparency-tool-crash.rtf

I have been trying to export a finished graphic from the latest Affinity Designer. For some odd reason, two of my groups disappear no matter what format I export in. If I export those slices individually, I am just left with a blank document. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. I am on a deadline and would like to resolve this as soon as possible. -

Here's another dog, seems I'm on a roll... personal work this time. Thought I'd try out an all airbrush style paint piece using mostly pixel persona and the spray paint brushes in Designer. I had tried this guy a few years back in photoshop, this turned out much better. ;) Maybe I just suck at photoshop painting... :) Some discoveries made with this piece has got me thinking of some personal wish list items for Designer as it pertains particularly for painting: - rotate canvas - an option or toggle to hide the brush cursor while painting (some of the brush cursors outline previews are a little distracting and are in the way while painting) - smooth stroke or lazy mouse feature - quick flip canvas (horz and vert) to check composition - OPTION > COMMAND > SPACE BAR and COMMAND > SPACE BAR for zooming (it's enabled and works as expected in draw persona but not in pixel persona, never did get an explanation on why this is... :huh: - this is a biggie hence the UPPERCASE letters!) :) The navigator palette just doesn't cut it for quick workflow. as an aside... - would love to see a "global" noise effect ability like in Affinity Photo (live filter) to be able to globally cover entire artwork with noise from the top most layer...

Hello, Good morning, as i am designing new things i will be adding many things to adjust, Thank you in advance, 1-Selection of any part of the visual should make a full selection of it. with B/W move tools. 2-the ability to assign actions to keyboard buttons. 3- command + 0 isn't full yet 4- the softwares MUST be able to expand before going to Full Screen ( this applies to all softwares ) it makes less worries for users. 5- convert to curves or outlining text or rasterising... i am lost 6- all measurements are needed for compatibility 7- comaptibility in importing - exporting is CRUCIAL 8- creating guides... if u don't like Adobe's style, you can go to : http://guideguide.me by Cameron McEfee 9- Adobe's cc 2014 plugins are lot excellent to have them as main options... just search over the net. 10- the transparency tool logo I thought it was for 3D design... u can show the Glass effect as a replacement. 11- inability to select a locked layer?... locking unlocking isn't smooth That' for now. Hello everybody, I've created this double bill poster of Laurel & Hardy. This year marks the 125 years anniversary of Stan Laurel's birthday. These two movies are coming to the big screen in England, Scotland and Ireland. Using my sketch as a guide I created this poster completely in AD. This is my first larger artwork in AD. The first release of AD was a bit too unstable to me, but much has improved since the update. So, I'm very pleased working with this piece of software. Sorry guys, seems I've found another bug. I'm trying to export a slice of an image that has a 13 pt stroke @1x and @2x resolutions, and it seems for both resolutions it's almost halving the stroke dimensions on output. This happens even when doing just a @1x export.

Hi, I show you my last work (juste for fun). An icon who represente a fried egg icon for iOS ! I made it, only with simple shape, fx an gradient effect ! the idea was come when look an old tuto for Sketch and when i cooked fried egg for the diner (inspiration is everywhere !)… I have keep the background color (because i like the gradient), and i created my icon on it ! Thanks for watching !

affinity designer Golfing related app illo for Link2Golf

This was a fun little job for Link2Golf, a golf app that offers an "easy as 1-2-3" solution for getting people on the green faster. The app allows multiple people in different locations to communicate together to reserve a course with minimal effort. The illustration is intended for web use and print advertising. The client is also an Affinity Designer user so the file hand off was in native AFD format. ;) All in Draw persona.

This may be the normal functionality for such modals, but I've noticed if I select a bit of text, open the Character palette to edit, say, the tracking, and go to enter a percentage on the keyboard, the initial action taken is the text in my selection is actually deleted and it begins typing there. Perhaps it's because I didn't click in the modal input box just right, but it seems that if a modal is open, it should be deactivating input in the document itself.

I have a black logo on a white backbround as a JPG image. I would like to make all the White transparent (alpha channel), so that I can save it as a Black Logo on a Transparent background PNG. What is the cleanest/ most accurate way to do this, please? Using a bitmap image as a mask is ideally what I need (copy the inverted greyscale image into the alpha channel to get the transparency) any help is really appreciated. I have Affinity Designer & Photo beta. -
My girlfriend took a picture of me and I created a vector-based portrait from it. It looks simple but it wasn't for me. I'm still getting used to vectors.
