  1. Good luck with the video endeavours, I use Camtasia and Screenflow as the mood takes me. Screenflow is Mac only but Camastia is Windows and Mac. I used Camastia when I ran a windows system so I'm used to to but I think Screenflow is just as good. A good free app is OBS a bit clunky to use but its Free and Open Source. I like the Ability in ScreenFlow and Camtasia to show Key Presses and the option to speed up receptive or tedious tasks in a tutorial.
  2. How long did this take Georgeacles? One cannot be anything other than impressed at both the end product and the dedication to do this, very inspiring.
  3. Yes, its a tough one to title an image, I can rename an image several times before I settle on a title I will stick with.
  4. The devils in the detail, our eyes don't have much in the way of Depth of Field (DOF) we are set to focus infinity so DOF isn't a natural perception for humans. I take shots with a zoom lense or a low f/ prime lenses like a 50mm f/1.4 then use those images as references. It helps with the realism. All you have to do is find Batman and get him to pose for you lol!
  5. Love love love this design 10/10 and you get a hug
  6. Have you tried the perspective tool to get the buildings vertical sides er vertical instead of slanted inwards:
  7. This image ain't floating my boat Ian, The cut out (the line that goes around the back, up and over doesn't really add anything, I would keep the colour in maybe a faded old looking form, the dust isn't doing it for me either. What about adding a blur to suggest movement?
  8. The guy on the left looks out of place, he should be looking into the image not out, I think all the people should have similar expressions, so, if one is smiling all should be smiling, the image should be greyscale as in the title, "No Color" A good concept though.
  9. Nice finished image, just straighten the horizon or you'll have a puddle on the right side of the image
  10. I want this to work but, I don't know it just doesn't do it for me. I think there has to be a juxtaposition so like others have said make the background gritty and dark. I would have the girl/boy dressed smart colourful and smiling while taking a selfie, the contrast in situation would show a desensitisation to the brutality of war and the inevitable destruction of life and the structure of civilisation but in parody the selfie taker is totally oblivious to the effect of war and only see's it as a photo opportunity.
  11. I quite like this one, maybe a few things I'd change but overall its good, perspective could be better and I'm not sure the light effect has a good relationship with each other. The titles could be better, so for this one I would have called it "Illuminated" and I have no idea where you are coming from with "Music in Pant" Sulk I'm not sure about, I would probably have used that title for a full face shot of someone with a sulky expression. I also like Moon Dream but would make that a square image and get rid of the bottom shapes. Like Love Music, the nude line work apart from beauty 01 and beauty 02 (they are not descriptive enough to get anything meaningful out of them) and I also like Sea Ink. Overall a good effort, and a cool concept.
  12. Lovely style and cool subject, well presented
  13. You can also open a .afdesign file in Affinity Photo and a .afphoto file in Affinity Designer
  14. You don't mention what Operating System you are using. This is on Windows and Mac Known issues:- colours corrupted/shifted in filter's preview (both with 8 and 16bit images) except at 100% zoom. The Navigator panel also displays corrupted/shifted colours.- images in portrait orientation display in landscape orientation in the filter's preview window. The output is in the correct orientation (portrait).- no preference to apply the filtered effect to a separate layer http://www.miguelboto.com/affinity/photo/plugins-support/
  15. The printer setting may be set to Save as PDF, might be worth checking what printer is default and then checking the settings for it. Could it be you are pressing Ctrl + O instead of Ctrl + P as Ctrl + O is Open... and will open windows explorer and maybe your last action was to open from the Download Folder.
  16. You have made quite a complex masking, it would be much simpler to use the gradient shape as a child to the lettering curve. This allows you to select the lettering curve from the workspace. Modified See Added layer and child layer.afdesign If you wanted to keep the design as you have done and still be able to select it, just use Outline View and click on the lettering curve.
  17. How the label will be presented is a significant question, I noticed on most every image it was flat facing, not rotated 3/4 shot. i.e. you get a bottle that has a label on it, now you rotate it 45º left or right.
  18. Just had a play about trying to get a nice symmetry face with a black outline, probably made it a lot harder than it needed to be but was just doodling. Saved file with History Symmetry Face.afdesign
  19. Is the Macro Panel docked to the left side? Have you tried dragging the Macro Panel out of the left hand side so its not docked and then Closing it? You can show the Macro Panel by going to View > Studio > Macro
  20. There is no modifier key to close the pencil tool stroke, it behaves the same as a brush and you would have to manually close the loop.
  21. Depends how complex the image is, so an example would be a good idea. Affinity Photo could do this using Filter > Colours > Erase White Paper. Affinity Photo can "Clip" the Canvas: Document > Clip Canvas You could also make a Macro to erase the white background. There are alternative methods like using flood fill to select the white background, delete the selected white background and then Clip the Canvas.
  22. Try holding CMD/(Ctrl on Windows) down and clicking on the object in the workspace.
