We only use that version of .NET for the installer itself. The actual app uses .NET 4.7.2. You could extract the internal MSI from the outer installer exe by using "app_name.exe /extract" - though you'd still need .NET 3.5 to do that (you could run Windows in a VM first to extract the MSI).

@1stn00b oh, my bad, I actually tried downloading it before asking you but it was giving me file unavailable. I thought it was a broken link but just noticed it was like that because I wasn't logged in lol
Ty for replying, I wouldn't ever realized that otherwise

(sorry I'm a bit late to answer this) I have a Wacom Intuos5 touch M which works just fine on Linux Mint. The *only* issue when I moved the tablet from Windows to Linux a year ago was programming the ring modes beyond mode #1. However, updates to the my desktop's drawing tablet gui since made it very easy. There is more information about the drawing tablet interface project here https://linuxwacom.github.io.

If u run it thru Wine u use the Windows license you already have, the same way u wouldn't pay to run it in a Windows VM. When Serif launches a Linux version then yes we can talk about another OS that they can charge for.

You don't need SteamOS to run games under Linux. You just install Steam, Lutris, Bottles, etc and you are good to go, unless you own an Nvidia GPU :
from official Valve Proton
The experience is seamless, and if it wasn't for the pop-up that inform you the game runs thru Proton the 1st time you install it and start it , u wouldn't even know it's not native. Also if a game i play doesn't work nice with custom GE Proton that has latest updates i can switch the the ones provided by Valve
I play all my games on Linux, in fact beside the Windows allocated SSD all other storage is EXT4 formatted

The number of Affinity or Adobe users is less than Windows + MacOS + Android users, probably as much.

This is where there is an unfortunate Catch 22 situation. I have heard this so many times, "I'd like to move over to Linux but I need X, Y, and Z software to do my work" where X is Affinity Photo/Adobe Photoshop, Y is Affinity Designer/Adobe Illustrator and Z is Affinity Publisher/Adobe InDesign and even just working well with Wine would meet the needs of those people.
There is also another route to take if Linux users have some spare time to help out.
CodeWeavers are now looking for what they call BetterTesters to submit user reports about the performance of their favourite games and applications (in this case the three Affinity applications) on the latest release beta development versions of CrossOver (commercial Wine).
More details can be found here:

Affinity missed his change.
Adobe is now filling the place: https://www.theverge.com/2022/6/14/23162580/photoshop-web-free-freemium-version-adobe

Photoshop in browser is here, it's not as good as affinity and not worth it if you're on windows or mac, however it works on linux as an alternative.

Because it's cheaper to let everyone else do their work for them. It's already worked wonders for AMD.

Pixeluvo is on Steam and it's an excellent, modern photo editor (a Photoshop Elements equivalent) for Windows and Linux.
Links:

http://www.pixeluvo.com/downloads/pixeluvo-1.6.0-2.x86_64.rpm

The 30 day trial version is limited to saving files no larger than 800×600 pixels. It has an excellent, easy to navigate UI and Gimp could learn a lot from it.

The vast majority of my friends, anecdotally, who have Macs also have iPads (a number of my Windows using friends also have iPads). Once you've bought into the Apple ecosystem you may as well continue. I would think that anyone who buys Affinity products for Mac will simply buy a copy for iPad, maybe not to do serious work but certainly to be "cool".
I don't see that same kind of loyalty with Android devices so there probably wouldn't be the cross selling opportunity.
And yes, its weight of numbers which means that Serif prioritises iPad over Linux. I'm on quite a few software forums and they all have a thread like this one. What it all boils down to is that it's not worth supporting Linux; the money just isn't there.

No. Gimp itself does NOT support CMYK, Through a plugin (I think you are referring to Separate+) it can export and soft proof, but that's not a very complete workflow. Eons away from even Krita (this is said by a bunch of members from both communities, they know CMYK mode has been left aside in Gimp, also in Inkscape. While in Krita and Scribus they have cared at least a bit about it). In Krita you can edit directly a image in CMYK mode. And of course, A.Photo , Photoshop, Xara, etc, do have a much more extensive support of CMYK, without needing to resort to an external plugin, which in any case is mostly a export/soft proof plugin. GEGL is not the only library in Linux (when I said that?? ) but its integration in Gimp comes to help removing some very long term limitations which existence even Gimp community admits. But don't get me wrong : I like Gimp and I wish that it would evolve. But it is not on par with commercial DTP software in Mac or Windows, yet, IMO. Indeed, what I said is that you all linux passionate users (geez, if Gimp were that advanced, none of you would be here...) should be helping Gimp development (they have very few coders, surely could use some help. Have you asked them to let you help there?), instead of coming to a closed source company asking for getting into some strange adventure... What surprises me more is that you are completely sure that the company should be interested in porting to Linux, no matter what. Kind of considering doing so a sort of moral debt to Linux or an obligation of some sort, is strange....
