  1. Switching colors is also broken on latest retail 1.6 version. The color isn't updated on the panel and doesn't change if I move the sliders around.
  2. Hey guys, congrats on 1.6 and thanks for the freebies! However, the chalky fonts and textures are downloading reeeeaaaally slow (like 9kb/s) while Steam is downloading normally at 5mb/s, so it's not something on my side. Donno if it's something you can fix at all, just wanted to let you know. Thanks!
  3. Hello, Wanted to check with you if not being able to increase/decrease the Transform panel values by using arrow up and arrow down on the text fields (X,Y,W,H) is a known issue on this beta or if it's a new bug. EDIT: After I opened a second document it started working properly and did not stuck again. Will check if it happens again between launches. Thanks
  4. Fco9, you should run the ClearType wizard on Windows (open the Windows/Start menu, type "ClearType" and hit Enter on the appropriate result). Your fonts look ugly because your ClearType setting is either turned off or it is set to draw small font sizes with minimum aliasing. Also as MEB said, you can change the UI font size through Windows.
  5. Avishag, check the View > Studio > Constraints panel. Select the objects that went missing in the Layers panel and set the constraints to the default by clicking the dashed lines inside the panel until all you have is the two arrows inside the middle square lit up, and the ones outside off (dashed).
  6. MEB, wouldn't saving as a Style be like saving as a preset? Video: https://youtu.be/VXwCZnZ4S5s?t=1m53s
  7. Mr. R C-R, you have already stated that in the original thread about the issue. Do we really need to go over Graphic Design-101 at this stage? The very capable Serif developers understand the issue, they know how graphics work inside out and they're aware of that case.
  8. Thanks R C-R, I understand how pixel banding works and would like a solution (maybe a proper Line tool?) that allowed me to create 1 pixel high or 1 pixel wide lines that fit perfectly in the grid without having to offset them. Currently a 1 px vector stroke sits between two solid pixels and renders as 2 pixels with 50% opacity in exported images (or Pixel Preview).
  9. The snapping issue is described here, and it's been a long discussion - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/36949-layer-pixel-alignment-issues/?hl=snap The pixel grid issue is described here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/32370-bug-grid-offset-in-pixel-view/?p=194359- I even suggested that Artboards should not be placed on anything but interger pixel values as you do. Related to the pixels issue, paste in place also doesn't work - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/35710-designer-paste-in-place/ The 1-pixel line issue is described here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/34785-too-hard-to-scale-wide-thin-rectangles/?p=170687- Notice that having to move a line by 0,5px so that it matches the pixel grid completely breaks moving objects around as now you have to keep that 0,5px offset. The color value issue is described here (there are other threads about it with CMYK too) - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/39287-ad-wrong-hex-value/ Just wanted to add that I'm using Windows 10, so I'm not considering any fixes made for Mac or other issues that might be attached to those.
  10. Hello Serif team, I want to thank you for the effort of taking such a big project on, for both AP and AD (and other upcoming software) and getting so far in a short period of time. Designer has great ideas and a great future ahead of it, and has reached far into the pool of features in other software from larger and more experienced companies. For that, congratulations! However, plenty of the core, basic features for any graphic design software are broken: - Moving objects so that they snap to pixels works most of the time - Pixel preview is completely broken, with the pixel grid moving around documents and artboards when you change zoom level - Line alignment follows an unorthodox system that turns simple tasks like making a 1-pixel high line into chores - Color pickers around the UI don't show the same values for a single object There are many other issues unfortunately, but I'm keeping this list to what I believe is basic to any design software. If one can't even get proper pixel alignment going, why work on new features and a complex roadmap? These should be top priority concerns, as it feels like the very core of the graphic engine is broken. If there is a proper time to get the basics right, this is it. Please don't wait any longer. Unfortunately for me (and I believe for many other professional UI designers) these are breaking issues. I hope the team will be able to sort these soon, but I need to get my work done and I'll have to jump back to Photoshop. I will not be asking for a refund and in fact I'd love to be able to donate to the project, even if I have already paid for the software, because I want to be set free from Adobe. At this time Designer is not ready for my kind of professional activity. Best of luck to the team, Fernando
  11. The source material is pretty bad, in my humble opinion. Not a great design for you to get inspiration from... I guess "Disclosure Agreement" is the actual title of the book, right? It should be larger than the author's name. The symbols in the center, looking at the small version, look like a cartoon mouse seen from its back. I would avoid having two semi-circles next to each other on any cover design, by the way. Also the symbols themselves, parts of them are sharp shapes and parts of them are irregular shapes, is that intentional? Keep training and posting :)
  12. Hi nod74, I believe this would be solved in the next update where a light version of the interface will be available. But if you want only the assets panel to change color then it is a feature request indeed.
  13. Thanks, done: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/39286-ad-export-persona-enhancements/
  14. This is a list of enhancements I would like to suggest for the Export persona in Designer: The selection border around selected slices should be visible at very small zoom levels. Currently it's very hard to tell which slice is selected on zoom levels below 50%. There needs to be a way to completely hide (toggle show/hide) the slices markings (the slice title and its border) Double-clicking a slice in the Slices panel listing would zoom into that slice. In the Layers panel (back in Draw Persona) if you double-click a layer AD will zoom it in to fit the viewport. This would be very, very useful in export persona too, in the Slices panel. The Slice Selection Tool selects objects within the artboard instead of the slice. It is far easier to select an object than to select a slice. Maybe the tool should select slices on click and objects on shift+click or something like that? Its name is misleading. There needs to be actions (buttons or keyboard shortcuts) to select all/select no slices or to check/uncheck the selected slices and invert the selection. In fact, it is confusing that selected slices are not exported, only checked ones are exported. Why not make exporting selection-based? Only selected slices would be exported, no need for checkboxes and confusing selection behavior. Selecting a slice highlights it on the Slices panel listing but does not scroll to it, this would be quite helpful Thanks!
  15. Seems to happen more often after duplicating an artboard and then renaming it. The slice created automatically for it doesn't update its name consistently. :) Do I make a post with all these requests or one post per request? Shouldn't the Slice selection tool's priority be to select the slices, tho? I can click through a slice and select an object "underneath" it way more easily than I can select the slice itself. Maybe there should be an object selection tool and a slice selection tool, or two modes of a same tool. This hibrid behavior is a little confusing. Awesome. It would be very helpful :) Thanks!
  16. +1. I missed it dearly and had to pop Adobe Illustrator open to finish a couple of illustrations.
  17. Some issues I've been facing on the Export persona in AD (1.5.3.6x public and beta): Slices don't always get the name of the artboard. If you rename the artboard the slice will keep the old name. If you're duplicating artboards this causes an issue where many slices have the same name and they'll be overwritten upon export I have a document with over 10 artboards (each one gets a slice). If I zoom out and select them on the Slices panel I can't tell which one is selected or not. Due to the naming issue above it's really hard to tell which of the artboards is selected since some have the same name and you can't see the selection border. The selection border gets hidden behind the slice blue border. There needs to be a way to completely hide (toggle show/hide) the slices markings In the Layers panel (back in Vector Persona) if you double-click a layer AD will zoom it in to fit the viewport. This would be very, very useful in export persona too, in the Slices panel. Double clicking a slice in the listing would zoom into that slice. Using the Slice tool sometimes selects an existing slice and sometimes it tries to create a new slice over an existing one. The behavior changes depending on zoom level and it's hard to replicate. The Slice Selection Tool selects objects within the artboard instead of the slice Selecting a artboard-slice by its name only works at greater zoom levels (100% or larger) There needs to be actions (buttons or kbd shortcuts) to select all/select none slices Selecting a slice highlights it on the Slices panel listing but does not scroll to it Thanks for reading :)
  18. Ah, I see. Hmm, if this is by design then it's a weird choice. I believe most of us expect Serif to change/fix this behaviour, in any case. I get your point about Artboards in different rotations and dimensions, that's a funky case.
  19. That's a really neat project, congrats!
  20. Hello, I'm sure this isn't a popular request but I would like to be able to export the designs with the guides visible, or some way to convert them to paths. This would be really useful when speccing designs to developers showing the padding/margins around objects and so on. Thanks.
  21. I believe there is a bug or I may be missing something. I have artboards of the same size (they're copies of each other, screens of the same app on the same device) and when I paste I only get the same Y position, the X position is completely ignored. On the attached screenshot the original icon on the left artboard, and on the right artboard the pasted one. It doesn't paste at the same X coordinate which is very frustrating when working with this kind of design. It happens on both stable and latest beta (as of April 18th) on Windows.
