There is an issue in 1.7.2 where the program may crash when printing if the file contains an embedded document.
For now if you want to print your file you can either:
If you have the Affinity Store version of the product, downgrade to 1.7.1 here Export to PDF and print from there (looks like you've sussed this one!) Rasterise the embedded documents before printing Apologies for the inconvenience.

This point I'm making is if the Bleedbox/Trimbox was set centrally with the Artbox as a default there's no risk (perceived on not) when adding full printers marks even when these marks are discarded by the workflow.  
 
I'm not going to test (the example below) on a live job and print just to find out there's a problem.
 
 

It's very simple. If you output "any" PDF from AP with "full printers marks" ticked, the artwork is not vertically centred to the PDF as a whole. 
On the face of it it's all technically fine, but when I was uploading an aPub PDF to an online print supplier today that has a "visual PDF checker" you can plainly see it perceives a problem (below)...

 That being the artwork is not inside the cropmarks (above). Enough so to stop the job to work out what is going on.
Then you've probably noticed that the usual PDF output from say QuarkXpress has the page (or Trimbox) that is perfectly centred both vertically and horizontally with in the PDF total outside boundary (or Artbox).
Quark developers must have a reason for perfectly a centred Artbox/Trimbox... Why have Affinity decided to have a default non-centred PDF?  When this has caused a potential worry when theres no need to be one.

I've reproduced this on a MacBook Air. Even with the dock minimized, you can only just see the buttons. You can esc out of it but it really isn't ideal. I will pass this to the developers.

Thank you for quickly reporting the file issues highlighted by the changes for Linked and Embedded resources and bearing with us while we ironed those out. We are pleased to announce Build 337 which fixes the following issues in Builds 330 & 326 which were withdrawn.

A Note about Linked Images
Backing data and hi-res previews are now discarded for linked images when the containing document is saved, resulting in a drop in Publication file size. Please note that unfortunately this will not apply for linked images in existing documents, they will have to be replaced in order to see an effect. When a document with linked images is opened you may now momentarily see a low-res preview before the full image is loaded and 'pops in'. This is expected behaviour.

Due to an issue discovered with the management of placed documents e.g here, here and the fact that document corruption can occur, we have chosen to remove the download links to Build 330. We will post another update to rectify this issue as soon as possible.
If you have already downloaded 330 you may wish to consider reverting to Build 312, but be aware that due to new functionality in the later build, documents saved in 330 may not load in 312.

Many of us have been testing the Publisher Beta since August 30, 2018.   It has matured in wonderful ways during that time and I think you would be hard-pressed to find many of us in these forums who would agree with you that it was far too early then or that it  now “has far too many bugs.”   And as ErrkaPetti said above, you didn’t have to give up your PC to use the three apps.   They are available for MAC and Windows.  So perhaps you are just having a discouraging weekend, trying to learn something new while trying to produce something the way you are accustomed?   Although we all know that a beta is not intended for a finished professional product, again many of us have succeeded quite splendidly with just that using the various Publisher beta versions as they have arrived.
Of course, if the old Serif products suit your purposes, nobody would want you to give them up, or spend your time testing software you don’t want to use.  Hope the coming week is a better one for you.

New Features
Pinned Objects for Text
It is now possible to 'pin' objects to a specific location in the text flow. As text is edited and reflows, the object travels with its pin.
To access this feature you can use the 'Float with Text' or 'Inline with Text' buttons on the main toolbar. Further control of the object's placement is available via the 'Pinning Panel' (View > Studio > Pinning)
DocX Import
DocX is now offered as an option for import wherever txt and rtf were previously available (for example File > Place). It is chiefly designed with import of text content in mind. 
Due to the wide variety of docx documents out there we will inevitably encounter issues and indeed there are features we won't initially support, for example:
- DrawingML 
- Fields
- Footnotes and Endnotes
- Multi-page tables
If you have docx documents that are failing to import we would encourage you to share them with us if possible.

Earlier Release Notes Beta 257

There are a number of unresolved text selection issues dating back to the first beta release.
1. Double-clicking a paragraph that spans across pages will retain its selection if one scrolls to the consecutive page not if one goes with Document->Next Page.
2. One can extend the selection with Shift+Down Arrow but not across spreads.
3. Selection is lost if one goes to another spread and comes back to the spread with selected text.

As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity where you may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents.

Updates and Fixes
Master Pages
Due to the changes in Master Page functionality in this build we strongly suggest you backup any documents that are valuable to you before testing.
It is now possible to edit the content of Master Page Text Frames and Picture Frames directly from a spread the master is applied to. By default, on editing, the content attribute for the item in question is automatically unlinked, but the other attributes and geometry remain locked. It is also possible to entirely lock the Master Page instance if desired, to prevent unintended content edits. Finally options are available to edit all attributes of Master Page items linked - the Master Page and any other pages it is applied to will be updated - or to edit all attributes unlinked - only the copy on the current spread will be updated. In both of these cases an information bar is displayed while the editing ‘mode’ is active.
Text flow between frames on masters is honoured when the master is applied and it is possible to create text flow between frames that have come from masters. When auto-flowing text from a frame that comes from a master the text auto-flow will use the matching frame on subsequent pages that have the same master applied or insert new pages with the same master.
Note that the previous default behaviour was to edit all attributes for all master items linked, but also to lock the Master Page instance in the layers panel. If dealing with an old document and the new functionality is desired the instance will need to be unlocked or the Master reapplied.

Amalgamated Text > Insert Text from File and File > Place
- Text > Insert Text from File has been removed and File > Place should be used instead. The types of files available via File > Place depends on context, for example if a Text Frame is selected then text files will be made available.
Performance
(Win) Fix for system mis-reporting RAM on some systems leading to poor performance.
- If 'RAM Usage Limit' in Preferences > Performance is set to 1024MB you may be experiencing this issue. If so please set the limit manually to a higher value (typically the amount of Physical RAM installed) or Ctrl-Run Up to reset settings.
