Sara72 got a reaction from Abinash Mohanty in Required vector grain or spray brushes
Thanks for the clarification, im guess something like a sub setting to the Noise toggle that's like the Perlin Noise in Photo and lets you zoom to increase the size.

Sara72 got a reaction from Appreax in Recreating Some Effects/Text From Thumbnails
Hi,
Here’s a tutorial for creating 3D text: Create 3D text in Affinity Photo Tutorial
The outline on some of the figures looks like it has been painted in with a square brush or the objects have been cutout and resized onto a white background layer.

Sara72 got a reaction from ARTGIRLJENNL in Is there away of creating a repeating pattern using an offset?
Hi,
What you quoted is a Macro not a video, (aka an Action in Photoshop) and needs installing into Affinity Photo to utilise.

Add an outer shadow fx afterwards because it will be applied to the curves and should shade it as you would expect. but nice squiggly brain brush lol!

Sara72 got a reaction from jer in Drawing a brain ... or pipework ... or spaghetti
Hi,
You can just create your own textured image brush in a pipe style, with a gradient look for the 3D:

You could create the brush with a drop shadow, not sure it’s too accurate, as it’s moving with the flow of the brush instead of how the shadow would fall:

Sara72 reacted to VectorWhiz in Marilyn Monroe vector portrait
This is my third portrait of a female, the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe. When I started this work I wasn't sure whether to draw extreme detail like pores and every strand of hair, which would have required some level of imagination since the quality of the reference photo was not too good. But while progressing I began to lean more towards creating a visual impression rather than going photo realistic. The impression being a soft, dreamy image. The dimensions at which this work was drawn are height x width = 165 x 126 cm. But since it entirely consists of vectors it can be re-scaled to any desired size without loss of quality.

Sara72 reacted to John Rostron in November challenge - make/share something with an Autumn/Fall theme
I used the Affine Filter to create table mats from images of leaf litter. They are described more fully in this thread, but here is an example:

Sara72 reacted to z3z in November challenge - make/share something with an Autumn/Fall theme
After being inspired by forum member Graphic&Design, I thought I might start a thread to encourage people to make and share their art based around a particular theme. Not certain how much interest there might be, but hopefully a few of you will join in! :)
The challenge: create something using Affinity's products based on the theme of Autumn/Fall. Your art can be as simple or as complex as you want. It could be a single vector leaf or an entire forest. Perhaps a hat & scarf or a pair of wellies to represent the changing weather. A rosy red apple or a squirrel with some nuts. These are only suggestions. It's very open to interpretation. Whatever autumn means to you! And remember, it's not about who's best. It's about creating art and having fun.
So, let's see some pics!

Excellent quality of all submitted works.
I hope we do something similar very soon.

Sara72 reacted to z3z in Share your HALLOWEEN art
How about a thread for November, maybe an Autumn theme?? (Open to suggestions).
Would be nice to have a monthly prompt to make some art and share it here in the forum. It's a nice way of building a community too. Would anyone else be interested in taking part in something like this?

Sara72 reacted to Graphic&Design in Share your HALLOWEEN art
Hello community, I would like to use this post to ask everyone to show something done in Affinity Designer, Photo or Publisher, main theme Halloween. It does not matter if it is something simple or complex, it is simply to show something done by you.
To start, here is my contribution.

Sara72 got a reaction from katrinaDTL in Seamless vector pattern tool with tiling options
Hi,
You can create repeating patterns with the Art boards and symbols, this account: East Coast Charm on YouTube has lots of tutorials for Affinity Designer, on the Desktop and ipad doing repeat and drop repeat patterns, this is a useful one for the desktop: Create A Pattern Template In Affinity Designer
