The discussion is missing more and more the point, isn't it? It is very clear now, that Affinity chose this upgrade policy for mere technical reasons. Obviously, it was technically not managable to offer discounts for existing users. Let alone more sophisticated discounts. It is very common, for example, that buyers who purchased a product recently, get much more discount or even a free upgrade. All this was technically impossible, so it seems. This is not great, but acceptable. But why didn't they communicate this properly to existing users?
It's not about the quality of the software. It's not even about the amount of discount. It's simply a very unfortunate communication by Serif that upsets some existing users. It took them several weeks to even say when the offer would end. Really? After I downloaded V2 I didn't even know how much time I would have for testing (AND using the dicsount). That might be ok for new users, but it is absolutely inacceptable for existing users in my humble opinion.

I don't think that many "complainers" have said this. You might disaggree with their arguments. But please, don't put words in their mouth. Thank you!

This is the feedback section, not the support section. No company can improve without criticism. It is about the promise of a paid V2 upgrade that has not been met. About trust and loyalty. And something big, besides a big cash flow. Serif doesn't need a base of yes men like you. Would an asymmetrical war against Affinity V2 by betrayed or disappointed customers be better on other platforms? Without the opportunity to respond and explain themselves? Gaining back trust is expensive.

I must admit I miss Proper Grammar II by Softwood on the Amiga. It was the only decent grammar checker on that platform. It was incorporated into Final Writer though. Really with the advent of deep learning algorithms, I would assume that an AI Editor will not be too far away. Whether that will be offline, however, will remain to be seen.

I have two Nodes on a path, they're adjacent to one another, and basically occupy the same space. I want them to become one.

    Is this possible?

Sorry for use of Fuse/Weld. I don't know of another term (off the top of my head) for doing this.

And it's just become much more important to be able to do this with the new roundings tool.

The user name is even more interesting than the big text, but not more interesting than the proposal, which is a very good idea. Custom corners would be amazing. Especially if non-destructive.

I'm not disagreeing. And would never install something that was so horrendously advertised. Gave me Swiftkey shudders.
Agree with you... should be an offline, optimised spell check and grammar facility, especially given that one of the apps is called "Publisher" and the ultimate goal of all design works is... publishing, in one form or another... so we need an "Editor" of some sort to look over our shoulder, that's better than the one in Microsoft Word and significantly faster than direct entry within Indesign.

Selecting the next layer in rename mode automatically will interfere massively (select another layer out of the blue) with single layer renaming which is probably the most common use case - a great example of why usability specialists should provide (and test) possible solutions to these issues and workflows.
Can you at least consider a shortcut (alt + Enter for example) to a multi rename mode instead so it is not default behavior.
Your idea has advantages over the one I posted above if the layers should have totally different names. Bulk renaming is superiour in other scenarios.

I think what a lot of us want is to replace the Adobe suite, not necessarily with three Affinity apps.  Affinity was just the most promising solution back when Adobe enacted their scheme to make us pay continually to be able to access our own work.
Photos & Images: There are a ton of applications here to work with images, including RAW.  Affinity Photo is not yet the equivalent of Photoshop, but Affinity Photo plus other software can make a suitable replacement for less than the cost of Adobe.
Design & Illustration: As I have posted many times, I would really like for Affinity Designer to be able to do it all.  Of course, who knows if that will ever happen.  In the meantime, Designer plus VectorStyler does a fair amount of stuff.  And there are other alternatives as well and many of those are still less than the cost of Adobe.
Page Layout: This is the tricky one.  Affinity Publisher has not caught up with InDesign, not even InDesign of a decade ago.  And there really aren't a lot of options in this area.  QuarkXPress?  Well, if they wouldn't continually shoot at their own feet (and frequently hit the target), they could have had a solid chance at a comeback.  Scribus is promising but development there is so slow it seems almost dead.  There are a handful of others, but they don't seem any closer to InDesign than Affinity Publisher.  Additionally, while Photo and Designer can save to formats that allow sharing with Photoshop and Illustrator (or other applications), what can you share with Publisher?  A PDF?  IDML import/export would be nice, or at least some means of sharing files with other page layout applications.
And, I hate to beat on a dead horse, but the Internet activation scheme of v2 is completely undesirable.  I have no idea if I would be able to activate v2 apps again in five, ten or twenty years to be able to use it.  I have no intention of being Adobe'd again.  And, since, in the case of Publisher, there's no real way to share the files with another application, or even downsave to v1, you'd have your files essentially locked away.  No thanks.
I don't know anymore.  Affinity seemed promising, but I'm beginning to get the feeling they're not even trying anymore.  Maybe paying money to open source apps to help spur development may have been a wiser choice than investing in Affinity apps.  I don't know anymore.

if you do ANYTHING with effects... like molasses. This taxes the GPU to the point where the fans kick in and so does the throttling. So gets slower the hotter it gets.
If you avoid using any effects, it's fine, until it's not.
Also, there's a bug in Affinity where it will use GPU even whilst backgrounded, in a different screen space. So you GPU will stay hot even when you switch away to Safari to keep up with Kanye's latest sermons.

Sorry, I don't agree. The navigation through complex hierarchies is quite easier than your depiction of it:
for example, you expand a group (or layer, or nested, or whatever) with arrow right and close it with arrow left. Use up and down arrow to move up and down, if a group is open you go down in depth (children) otherwise you continue.
There are standards already, that I use in more complex software. For example, a scene in Unity (Game Engine) gets VERY complex and nested very quick, but I can can navigate through it and rename everything without touching the mouse once.
I am not suggesting something new in the industry, I am just suggesting to implement something I consider fairly basic.

Also, the case scenario you suggested is where you have to change ONE object and you have to navigate TO it. Of course in this case the mouse is a better option.
I am talking about a scenario where I want to rename 50 objects in the next 5 minutes. They are in a row, every step in navigation is just one "move forward" away. Very easy to reach. In this case, to have to double click 50 times, moving the hand away from the keyboard, doubles the time needed and multiplies frustration by ten.

This said, I also find a real scripting interface very useful, so I am totally on your side on this. (But that's a way more complex feature to implement, imho).

Scripting? Who hates themselves that much? How about just having it handy in the program. It is not unusual to have a ton of similar objects side by side in a group, no more unusual scenario than that power duplicate may have been used for it (or spray or maybe advanced duplicate in a real vector program).
I routinely bulk rename objects a lot in other vector programs, it can be (and should be) this easy:

Do you always to address other people's opinions as wet fantasies? What a childish attitude.
Just because you think something is right, does not mean others agree with you.
You bought the universal license and now you came to praise it even though I literally stated that the universal license is a good deal while individual pricing is a rip off. Your point is redundant.
I chose not to buy. That is my decision. Im gonna follow the development and decide whether its worth it later on. Both choices are valid.
You have a small business so buying the bundle saves you money since its a good deal. Again, Im an individual. Your point here is redundant.
I like that we do not have the subscription model. That's why I bought the first version. Never complained about it. Another redundant point.
Yes you are a part of the flock since you had the option to read the post and just leave it alone. Yet you felt the urge to come and defend your purchase and company that isnt paying you or giving you anything in return. You're not winning anyone over. I am trying to talk to the people who made the decision to increase prices, I didnt ask for feedback from others. If you dont like my opinion, you're free to move along. The thread could have just died after creation yet there are so many sheep here trying to argue so hard to validate their purchase.
Yes it is their choice. I have no problem with that, but I have a choice to not agree with it and voice my opinion. Just like you do.

Go to facebook and try to explain this in the groups. Insta banned.  It is hilarious how many fanboys exist. Real problems that should have been fixed long ago. Example i keep giving people to which the have no answer to is serifs previous photo app. The raw develop of the previous app had more advanced features than v2. The only answer they have when provided with this proof is name calling. I wish they wouldnt take us for fools. I want them to succeed. I really dislike the way adobe runs things.

It depends on how long Affinity Photo V2 will be usable. I can get the Photoshop & Lightroom subscription with 20 GB cloud storage for under €80 per year for the last few years. Compared to that, Affinity Photo still lacks many important features. The big V2 cash flow can either result in higher productivity or laziness.

You forget that the software is not made for the developers, it is made for users who use them! Look at the iPad version. There we also have no icons but there is no senseless drop down menu. Here you have at least the buttons side by side and you don´t have to make a click and then search in the list. I would prefer a small icon for fast finding my preference but a solution as on ipad version is better than nothing.
