That link goes directly to the US English page. If you want to visit (say) the German page, you need to substitute de.lproj for en-US.lproj in the quoted URL. This is in stark contrast to Affinity Store links such as https://store.serif.com/help/#returns where the appropriate language code is inserted automagically. In any case, there are only help pages for the supported languages, so there is no Dutch version.

Maybe first update the table of contents to see if that fixes it. With the table of contents selected, from the Table of Contents panel, click Update. You could also try searching for all instances of the heading style used for the table of contents to see if there is an instance of the heading on page 11 that you are unable to see. In the Find and Replace panel, click the cog icon to the right of ‘Find’ (upper-right section of the panel), select the paragraph style, and click the Find button.

Does Publisher 2 get functional hyphenation for the Finnish language? The liereuna doesn't look good when there are long words in the Finnish language. How do I make it work? The options are automatic? No byte with those settings.

This one seems strange as I just processed a whole series of .DNG files taken with the Halide App in iOS. Maybe, if you are on windows you need some specific other software to read and open .dng files. is .DNG in captials or .dng in lowecase? Could it be a naming issue. Can you see the DNG files in a simple image viewer app on your computer? I'd check those things first.

I just purchased Affinity Photo 2 because I heard it's the best alternative to Photoshop/Lightroom. However, after installation, I'm noticing none of my DNG files are opening in Affinity Photo 2. I'm getting a "The file type is not supported." message with no other information. The DNG photos were taken on a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone, not sure if that matters. Any words of advice would be appreciated. Do i need to install a plugin that I was not made aware of?

The page that page numbers start on can be managed with Sections. The following help page is in English; I don’t know if you will be redirected to the page in your native language. https://affinity.help/publisher2/en-US.lproj/pages/Pages/addingSections.html Create a new section that starts on the page you want to be page 1 and set the Restart page numbering at value to 1. There are different ways to remove page numbers from the first section. You could apply a Master Page that doesn’t include a page number, or you could edit the Master Page detached for each of the pages to hide the page number layer.

I am creating papercraft templates (the sample file is just a simple cube unfold). So basically layers with cut and fold lines (vector) and then a base layer with the standard bitmap texturing and some optional customization alternatives. The last years I have been using Adobe Illustrator and that works perfectly. I just wanted to see if I can find what I need outside of an subscription base package. So if I need to go for subscription anyways with iLovePDF I can just stay with Illustrator where I got all I need to work. Out of curiosity I still want to do this test to see how far I come. The more I think about it, the ability to have the layers configurable for each page and not the same for all pages could even be a cool "feature" instead of a "bug" for my purposes. Once I have this basic page/PDF handling checked out I will go on to see how Designer 2 fares in terms of "effects" (different manipulations) of paths, like roughening up a straight line or curve. From what I have seen so far, there is a limited functionality. I have read in others forum posts here that I would not be alone to value a scripting language where we users could implement what we need ourselves. Maybe this will come in the future... If you reduce the width of a line using the Line width tool, the Stroke panel displays an incorrect value if the point thickness is smaller than the line width. 2024-04-28 07-49-20.mp4 I think that displaying the line width by control-clicking on a point is unnecessary if the width is shown in the Stroke panel.

Publishers often ask to convert fonts to curves if they request files in graphics program formats such as Illustrator (.ai files) or Indesign (.indd files). Why are they doing this? Because the fonts used are not saved in these files, which may result in missing fonts and replacing them with other, basic ones. When sending a file in PDF format, there is no need to convert fonts to curves because all fonts can be embedded in this format, but many publishers ask you to convert them anyway. For this reason, it would be best if you asked the publisher you want to print from what their requirements are when it comes to preparing the file for printing to avoid misunderstandings and frustration on both sides. Personally, I send files for printing with fonts converted to curves because that's what my publisher wants. I hope this cleared up your doubts a bit. Regards.

De eerste vier pagina's van een boek hebben geen paginanummering. De cover niet, het colofon niet, het titelblad niet en ook de blanco pagina daarna niet. Een boek begint (vaak) pas op pagina 5 (of 7). Nu krijg ik wel een paginanummering te zien op bladzijde 1 t/m 4. Hoe krijg ik deze weg? Zie ook de schermafdruk die ik hierbij meezend.

At first I didn't think it was working, but then I remembered I manually went through all instances of the end quote already and fixed them all, before I saw the above. It does seem to work, although I had to add a bunch of extra characters to skip. Thank you.

Good question. I just like the possibilities there better.

I have been working on a project in which I use the blur filter on each layer (then decide to change something else and redo the whole project again). The radial blur filter has been working fine right up until it stopped working. The radial streaks should be obliterated by the radial blur (which should really be called circumferential blur, but I digress.) The filter does nothing to the layer after hitting apply and moving the split-screen preview preview divider shows no effect being applied. I went back to a previous document where it had been working and checked that it was also broken there. I tried restarting the program and restarting the computer. I tried disabling hardware acceleration based on a forum post from someone who was having trouble with the blur brush. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Affinity Photo (although the fact that it had all my documents still listed under "recently opened" and hardware acceleration was still disabled indicates it wasn't a clean reinstall). Any ideas?
