Harpenstreng Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Font insists on being italic no matter what I do. Style settings keeps telling me that italic is off and font trait is regular.
Staff Sean P Posted January 11, 2019 Staff Posted January 11, 2019 Hi Harpenstreng, Could you attach the file shown in your screenshot please?

Harpenstreng Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 Do you mean the *.afpub file? Fisk_Måling_V0.01.afpub
walt.farrell Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 The .afdesign file, since you're posting about Designer. Harpenstreng Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 I attached the file above. If it makes sense, please move the discussion (it seems that other users have experienced the same problem in Publisher, so my file may be one too many).
MikeW Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Select your text. Scroll down to the Strong Emphasis character style. Click on the symbol at the right-side of the Strong Emphasis character style. Click on the Detach Characters from Strong Emphasis Style in the pop-up (second from bottom). The paragraph should revert to BodyPlakat style without the Strong Emphasis character style. You will need to do this for all the text blocks. Mike Sean P 1
MikeW Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Alternatively--something I just figured out--Select all the text frames. The Context bar at the top of the window will show the Strong Emphasis character style being used. Click on that drop-down and change it to No Style. Sean P 1
Staff Sean P Posted January 14, 2019 Staff Posted January 14, 2019 Thanks guys! Mike has hit the nail on the head!
Harpenstreng Posted January 14, 2019 Author Posted January 14, 2019 The thing is that my BodyPlakat style comes out italicised even though italic seems to be off in the BodyPlakat style definition dialogue. Sure, I can change that afterwards but then the style is not to much use.

That's what @MikeW pointed out. You have told the Text Frame to use Strong Emphasis via its Character controls: Select a Text Frame, then reset that via the pulldown to [No Style] and see what happens. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. MikeW Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Personally, I believe the ability to set a text frame's text style is all sorts of wrong. This thread exemplifies this issue. Alfred and walt.farrell 2
