Mabon Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 I have a document of several pages. The pages don't have a standard dimensions (it is not an A4, but 17,5 by 11,3 cm) When clicking on File > Export (to get images), you get 2 choices by Area: 1) all pages and 2) Current page. I would like to have the option to control a range of pages I can export (like with printing, you can choose a range). Mabon Jowday 1 Quote
mmuller Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 This is an important requirement when working on multi-page documents as some of the print services I use require different PDF's to be submitted for each section/part of the item. Currently I am having to use PDFSAM to extract the pages from the document, I know this is okay, but I do always worry that something will 'break' during this process. Native export of page ranges would make the export section 'feel' more like a complete desktop publishing package. Quote
sdrum Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Agree. It is a must. PagePlus had it. Quote

Jowday Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 +1 I often send a selection of pages to one or more reviewers. It is very useful when the full publication is 50+ pages with graphics and any output results in huge file sizes. Sometime likes this: 5-8 Or like in MS Word: 1, 2, 4-6, 9 Thanks Quote "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface." Jowday Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 No? In the print dialog you can - not in the export dialog. GarryP Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Unless I’ve misunderstood the requirements, this feature exists in 1.7.3. Zatlap 1 Quote

It works as shown and requested in 1.7.3. Also in the print dialog. Case closed. Quote "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface." cperse Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) Dears, I'm Mac user with 1.7.3 version but this feature does not exist. Am I wrong? CP P.S. Sorry I'm in DESIGNER.... This feature can be useful also in Designer app... P.P.S 🤕 I've found Export Selection... 😂 ...sorry I'm new user... Edited February 14, 2020 by cperse Quote
GarryP Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 You cannot export Pages from an AFDESIGN file as that sort of file does not have any Pages in it. Designer documents (AFDESIGN) may contain Artboards but not Pages. To export specific Pages from Designer you need to be editing an AFPUB (Publisher) document. (There may be some exceptions to this – when editing documents in different applications – but the general rule is: Artboards in Designer, Pages in Publisher.) Quote
Jpburns Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Am I nuts or can you NOT export a selection of pages (say, as a pdf) in Publisher on the iPad. And if so… WHY NOT? Quote

Apparently not, but I have no idea why it's missing. You might want to create your own topic, as this is old and not particularly relevant any more.
