I love this forum because its fast and has not this RTFM-and-other-NONE-educuaction.... tone/mentality.

There is a (really simple question) - SB answers or not! There is NO!!!!  RTFM.... or other "education"!!!! Just the answer!

I really like this!!!!

Completely different is the (german) libreoffice-forum! Here you can just ask, if you have read the manual AND some further articles for special situations!

Simple questions, will "answered" with "read first there and there!!!!!"...

The question there is: for what do i need a forum, if i have to find my answers in a labyrinth-manuael/ online-doc by myself first there?

The other extreme are the Mac-community - very, very  help-friendly, but never, never ask for a faster/smarter/more intuitive... way!!!!!  All steve-jobs-work is holy,  its a sacrilege to look for a smarter way: There could not be a better way, cause Steve does not  impletmened!

THIS forum is so natural!!!! I really like it!

Why the snarky comment? The question was already answered. Maybe learn how to use past and present tense verbs properly before you berate someone unnecessarily on the forum.

Alain is in Québec. Are you going to show off your mastery of French now?

I agree, if one thinks the question is “stupid” or beneath their dignity to answer, don’t.  Someone will usually respond in a user friendly manner.

Perhaps because sarcasm is so common on the internet that when something genuine is written people look for an "edge" to see if they are missing something, I believe the response was an honest one, but my mockery radar is sometimes off too.

Many answers and I don't understand it. Many options.. My options do not highlight so I can not turn anything off if I want to. Don't know why.

For very simple people like myself.. Anybody any idea why I can't turn mine off in Designer?

  1. Select the text
  2. Set Character > Language > Spelling to None

Also note that you can turn off spell check entirely with Text > Spelling > Check Spelling While Typing

Very handy, thank you!
