Hokusai Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Thought I would share another Beauty of Edo. It was all done using Designer and it is all vectors (with some effects added). Thanks for checking out my work. Hokusai SrPx, Alfred, Bigby and 7 others 10 Quote
GarryP Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Always really great work. Always a pleasure to see what you come up with next. Always makes me jealous. Quote
Hokusai Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 GarryP, Thanks for checking out my work and thanks for the kind words. No reason to be jealous, I wish I was a natural but unfortunately I'm not. I worked for years to learn and then to improve my skills (first with Illustrator and Freehand and now with Designer) and even now I feel that I still have so much to learn and to improve. Best regards, Hokusai Quote
GarryP Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 You're welcome Hokusai. It's obvious that you've been doing this for many years so I don't mind not having to go though all of the training and practice that must have been involved. Having said that, I still wish I could make better stuff than I can. Maybe finger-painting is more my thing. One tiny point I've just noticed: Is the bottom-left of the illustration finished? It doesn't seem to conform to the same style as the rest of it. Not a problem, it's just that it doesn't look quite right to me now that I see it again. Also, the cloth at the bottom - about two-thirds over to the right - doesn't seem to be quite right. Should it be white? Maybe it's just the way I'm looking at it. Hokusai 1 Quote

AffinityJules Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Very high quality work. Makes me speechless. Quote Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe. These are not my own words but I sure like this quote.
Hokusai Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 GarryP, Thanks for the questions. The black part (of her obi) that looks like it was unfinished was actually designed to look that way but I can see how you would think it wasn't finished. I went ahead and extended it and I think it looks better, thanks for the suggestion. I think you are right about the cloth. I changed it and it does seem to look better. Thanks!
