AffinityAppMan Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Greetings, Excuse my ignorance, but is there a way to search for keywords in the online manual here instead of having to go thru everything to find something? https://affinity.help/designer/en-US.lproj/index.html Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Not that I've found. But that site just has information from the built-in Help system. Instead of using it you could simply click on the Help button in Affinity Designer, then on Help.... and you'll have a searchable version. A_B_C Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 You can use search engines like Google for that purpose. Suppose you want to know about glyph kerning. Then type kerning site:affinity.help/designer in the Google search field. Using site: … will get you results only from the Affinity Designer Help pages, and these are indexed by Google already. If you want more privacy, go to https://startpage.com and use the same search words there. You can also add the Startpage plugin to your browser. Hope that helps … Alex AffinityAppMan, Alfred and Gear maker 3 Quote

The site: filter also works in other major search engines such as Bing, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo. Make sure that you don’t include a space between the colon and the domain/folder. Oval Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 AffinityAppMan, “type in the search field above” was announced but not implemented. But there is still hope: “This is currently no search functionality - we are aware it would be useful and are considering possible solutions”. Quote

Thanks I do use the help feature in the app when I am on the computer, but sometimes I just want to look something up if I am on the road or away from the computer. I will try the google search technique next time. cheers Quote
