BrianHermelijn Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Greetings, How to make the text resize? Currently when I resize the design, the texts doesn't resize, in fact they just go into one another. See the image for what I am referring to, thanks! Quote Illustration/Design Journal
Alfred Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 How are you trying to resize the text, Brian? Is it Artistic Text or Frame Text, or both? Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

BrianHermelijn Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Some are Text Frame @Alfred, which I noticed doesn't resize, while Artistic Text does. And @carl123, that's the one I do use, but I find it kind of annoying that you have to go on each text just to resize it correctly. There should be an option that I am missing, if the same functionality for Artistic Text works for Text Frame. Quote Illustration/Design Journal
Staff MEB Posted March 8, 2017 Staff Posted March 8, 2017 Hi BrianHermelijn, Select all the objects (or group) you want to resize then use the lower bottom right corner handle (the one that's detached from the bounding box) to scale all the objects - including text frames. If you need to enlarge them to a specific size/width place a guide in the document as reference, then use snapping to help you resize the bounding box exactly to that guide. You can't use the Transform panel to set the dimensions directly because the text frames will reflow instead of being scaled. pixelshrink, shaneparsons, Surgio' and 1 other 2 2 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
carl123 Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Where your frame text boxes all use the same font size, you can select them all in the layers panel and change the font size for all of them in one go Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Staff MEB Posted March 8, 2017 Staff Posted March 8, 2017 Scaling the text size per si may not be enough. If the text frames use different line heights (leading) or a different value other than default you will also have to multiply the factor by the leading value. Elise Kleve Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) Totally slowed me down. Had to switch to Illustrator to meet deadlines. Problem solved. Text resizing should be fast and doesn't have to rely on specific handles or non-essential/gimmicky mechanisms. X-Raym Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 @MEBThis works but it means we can't adjust Text Frame by a Percentage in Transform panel. Quote
