  1. The problem has been resolved, thank you. It's strange that this issue emerged solely after updating Windows, with no hardware alterations. Presently, attempting to modify any print settings in Publisher v2.1.0 causes it to freeze, preventing me from printing my work. I might post the issue under a separate topic if I have the time.
  2. Windows 11 23H2. I can't create nor open documents, as the program closes after clicking "Create" or opening an .afpub file via Explorer. Tried V2 quickly, and the issue doesn't happen. Can't afford an upgrade now, and V1 should function as it has on my PC for the past 3 years. As it's an urgent job (time-monitored with employee time tracking software), I switched to Illustrator temporarily or until the issue is gone.
  3. Opening or creating a document crashes the program: Versions: affinity-publisher-1.10.5 affinity-publisher-1.10.6 Maybe this is intentional to force consumers to pay for V2.
  4. +1 Exactly. I found out that when you export specific page numbers, the newly exported pages will overwrite the previous imports. This is because the file names are based on the document name followed by an underscore and always starts at 1 and so on... This would not happen if the pages have different names.
  5. Can we get this to work? I read the same posts from 2019 requesting the same option.
  6. I can't find any option to set a specific distance between spreads. It is extremely difficult for me to preview my work and since the platform to where I am going to publish it has this feature, it's really hard to design and set proper margins, arrange design elements with the pacing I want, to achieve good continuity.

  8. Hi guys, I just bought Affinity Photo today and I am trying to "convert" my Photoshop workflow to Affinity Photo's. Let me know if this has been answered before: I want to drag multiple image files into the layer panel but it seems that it is not possible? I want to open multiple files (100+ images) as layers in AP. This is what I want to achieve:

  10. All you said is irrelevant and merely fueled by opinions and emotions. None of which has represented what I said since, how do I say it, you're not me. Thanks for trying to explain to everyone what the inner-workings of my brain is all about.
  11. I noticed significant lags when too many installed fonts are installed. I uninstalled most of the fonts that I rarely use and it helped.
  12. I have cloned my disk to a new SSD and I have multiple backups since I do have a lot of work that needs backup. In fact, my current copy of Windows is the exact same OS that I have been using since Windows 7. Hardware malfunction is not a threat to me. I also keep my software copies in DVDs. 😀 Yes, that's what I came here for. I'm just waiting for some helpful information. I'm currently working on a branding project and 75% of the actual, useful work are accomplished in Affinity Publisher; the rest is completed in my CS apps. I don't know that some random Karen has criticized my choice of apps. If it works in my workflow who cares if it's outdated? I have been keeping my copies of PS CS2! Haha.
  13. So what's the point of answering and quoting what I said and pointing out anything about anything? What's the problem? You can own CS apps forever that are more functional than the updated versions of Affinity apps, LOL. Stop pointing out anything that is correct. And I decide what I want with my own money. Everything you said does not help me decide which software to buy. LOL. I came here for information on Affinity version 2.0. Whether I would buy it or not.
  14. What's your point? I'm not asking any questions. As you can see, I only made a remark. End of story. Here's the remark I made. I don't demand answers. I choose which option is best for me. I use Affinity Publisher for PDF creation over Illustrator and InDesign and I am not planning on purchasing the 2.0 version. Photoshop and Illustrator will be my primary tools for graphic design. And nothing can replace Lightroom in my workflow. "I'd better stay with Adobe CS apps for now." Which means that I don't need to upgrade at the moment unless something I need will be added; something that I will pay for. That's why "I'd better stay with Adobe CS apps for now." The reality is that I need apps from Adobe and Serif. Debating whether the other company has better pricing or not is illogical and futile since I'm going to pay for both anyway.
  15. In the recent update (1.8.4), not yet. I agree. I work on brand guidelines a lot and without an eyedropper tool for copying text and object style is a drag. Time is money and this tool should be implemented before version 2.
  16. The option to customize the shortcut for inserting hyperlink to selected text was available in version 1.8.3. I wonder why they have removed this in the recent version so I reverted back to 1.8.3.
  17. I don't need logic. When you talk about business logic doesn't apply. Anyway, what I was saying is that you can own Adobe CS apps forever compared to the current pricing of Affinity apps which requires payment to update to a major release. I know. I am currently updating my copy of Affinity Publisher to 1.8.4.
  18. I'm also stuck with this dialog for several minutes now as Publisher is trying to open a template.
