skmwrp Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Video shows AD v1 vs v2, where we created two curves with Pencil tool and tried to Add them. Version 1 makes single curve out of both while version 2 just deletes the curves. Version 2 works as expected if Auto-Close is turned on (not available in version 1), but if you use Sculpt, the curve is auto-closed on first pause of drawing line and when you continue from last point, the curve becomes open again, even though Auto-Close is still ticked on. Curve will not close from that point on and will be deleted when Add is applied. Geometry Add Broken in ADv2.mov.fa47d46fca0cb1cf6e2c2c6ef4559237.mov Quote
Ldina Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Yup...same here. Add just deletes the curves. ashf Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Not fixed. Still the same in 2.2 beta. Also my post about another problem may be related to this. Quote

The bug, I think, occured when adding 2 closed curves that don't have fills. Are your curves closed or open? Do they have a Fill? I think Serif views it as correct that open (unclosed) curves without a fill are deleted by the Add operation. Perhaps @Serif Info Bot could have someone clarify this for us (Related discussion: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/192732-ad220-add-doesnt-work-for-these-shapes/ ) ashf 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Then I tried setting the fill, they're merged as expected. Thank you for pointing out. Quote
