Place Wedding Couple Inside Wine Glass

Hi, all not sure what technique to use to make this happen, is it blending or some other method. Not sure where to begin. I guess I would start with 2 images , one of the couple and one of a clear wineglass. Other than that I am a bit lost on this...

Here is a simple sample of an empty glas + a couple + some graphic wine. For the glas a bit reflection (by masking the couple) and for the wine some transparency (gradient fill, layer blend mode) is used. The background green is darkened (HSL adjustment). It can give a rough idea only, actually it depends a lot on the images you want to use. Choosing them with similar light (direction, intensity, color) makes it easier to achieve a kind of a natural look.

For instance (their are always several ways):

1. Compare the initial pixel dimensions of both glass and couple + scale the couple just roughly to make it fit into the glass.
2. Position the couple layer on top of the glass layer.
3. Reduce the couple's layer opacity (or choose a blend mode) to be able to recognize the shape/outer edges of both couple + glass.
4. Finetune the size of the couple layer.
5. Set its layer back to 100% opacity / normal.
6. Add a mask layer to the couple.
7. Select the paint brush tool and set e.g. to opacity 20, flow 50, hardness 50.
8. Paint on the mask layer to make the couple disappear at the edges of the glass and at its reflections.

Since the objective is to make the couple look as though they’re inside the glass, it seems more intuitive to position the glass layer on top of the couple layer (and then reduce the glass layer’s opacity, or choose a blend mode). However, the end result should be the same visually.
